Pradesh President writes letter to the Police Commissioner

Delhi Police Commissioner should investigate the suspicious role of Arvinder Singh Lovely – Vijender Gupta 

New Delhi, 27th November. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has written a letter to the Police Commissioner of Delhi Neeraj Kumar for impartial & high level investigation into the suspicious role of Minister & Incharge of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely into the case of fatal attack on Delhi Pradesh Akali Dal President Sardar Manjeet Singh in Rakabganj Gurudwara and murder of two real brothers Hardeep Chadha and Ponty Chadha in Chhatarpur. He told that since there is a role of the aforesaid Minister in both the cases Delhi Police is trying to suppress the case taking it lightly. Hence the Police Commissioner should take personal interest and supervise the investigation so that the people may have trust in the judicial system and the Police. 

It may be mentioned that due to close relations with former Transport Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely the deceased Hardeep Singh was awarded the contract of cluster bus service in Delhi. Hardeep Singh was awarded the contract of operating important bus routes of South Delhi by the Transport department. This cluster service is taking its last breath because only 15 buses are plying in place of 126 buses. No penal action was taken for this negligence of Hardeep Singh because of his closeness with the then Transport Minister. 

Shri Gupta told that on the 17th November, Ponty & Hardeep Chadha were shot dead in Chhatarpur Farm House. The murder took place in broad day light and at that time dozens of assailants were present in the Farm House. Hardeep Singh was the son-in-law of former Chairman of DSGPC Shri Harinder Singh. The present Chairman of DSGPC Paramjeet Singh Sarna is the elder brother of Harinder Singh. Hence Delhi Government, Delhi Police and DSGPC are trying to shield the real culprits. 11 days have passed since the murder took place and only one person has been arrested by the Police. 

Reputed English daily Indian Express has published a detailed report about the relations and commercial interests between Hardeep Singh and Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely. In view of the report of Indian Express Police should take the investigation further and should investigate about Arvinder Singh Lovely also so that the person behind the attack on the President of Akali Dal Sardar Manjeet Singh at Rakabganj Gurudwara and murder of Chadha brothers in Farm House may be exposed.

Government responsible for the failure of cluster bus service

There should be enquiry into the contract of cluster bus service awarded to Hardeep Singh – Vijender Gupta 

New Delhi, 26th November. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that the irresponsible attitude and corruption by Delhi Government are the reasons of the failure of widely publicised DTC cluster bus service. He has asked Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely whether he had relations with one of the Chadha brothers, Hardeep Singh killed recently. 

Under the cluster bus service 150 low floor buses were to be operated in South Delhi’s Badarpur, Ashram, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Zoo, Pragati Maidan, Delhi Gate, Jama Masjid, Kashmere Gate, Chandni Chowk, Jasola, Sarita Vihar, Mohan Estate and Tuglakhabad. Only 16 buses are plying on these cluster routes till date. It is said that Hardeep Singh Chadha was the owner of this cluster bus service. He had secured the contract of cluster service with the help of his relations with Delhi Government. Hardeep Singh was also operating other business. It is said that he had relations with former Transport Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely, but he was not serious about starting the cluster bus service. The Government did not take any penal action against it. Due to this the passengers of aforesaid routes are suffering. 

In its third term present Delhi Government for the purpose of improving the public transport system in the capital had divided entire Delhi into 34 routes. These parts were named clusters. New low Floor-AC and non-AC buses were to be operated by the private cluster operators having different colours in all the clusters. Government spent crores of rupees in the publicity of this scheme. Even after two years neither new buses have been purchased nor new buses have started plying in all the clusters. 

In the recent cabinet reshuffle Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit gave Transport department to Ramakant Goswami and his favourite department to Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely. But Shri Ramakant Goswami has also failed to operate the cluster bus service in Delhi properly. It may be mentioned that the blueline buses called as killer buses of Delhi were stopped from operating due to the intervention of court. But now Delhi Government is going to operate those blueline buses on 97 routes of outer Delhi. Under this service 1532 blueline buses shall transport the passengers. There is apprehension of increase in accidents once again due to it.

BJP demand to the Petroleum Minister

GOVERNMENT SHOULD START PROVIDING NEW GAS CONNECTIONS IMMEDIATELY – VIJENDER GUPTA 

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded the Central Petroleum Minister Virappa Moily that he should provide new gas connection to the people in Delhi because the gas agencies have stopped booking for new gas connections. 

He has also demanded the Petroleum Minister that he should make arrangement for supplying subsidised cylinders to the 4 lakh poor families of Delhi for the whole year because Delhi Government has abolished quota of Kerosene to these families. Many of these families do not have gas connections. After the end of Kerosene quota, they are facing great difficulties in cooking their food. They have neither cooking gas nor kerosene. 

Since the Government fixed quota of only 6 cylinders, the gas companies of the capital are behaving in arbitrary manner. They have arbitrarily decided to supply only 3 subsidised cylinders to the consumers, when the consumer raise objections, gas agencies reply that rest of 3 subsidised gas cylinders will be supplied from April, 2013. Government has fixed the quota of gas cylinders but they have not issued clear cut directions in this regard. The gas agencies are taking advantage of it. 

The price of subsidised gas cylinders in the capital is Rs. 411 in the capital and the price of non-subsidised cylinders is Rs. 895. The consumer to have been supplied 3 subsidised cylinders, they are being charged Rs. 895 for the fourth cylinder. Whereas, only after supply of 6 subsidised cylinders the consumer should be supplied non-subsidised gas cylinder. But the gas agency are not doing so in Delhi and behaving arbitrarily. Nobody is listening to complaint against them. It is surprising that there is undeclared ban on new gas connections at present. Those poor people who don't have gas connections are suffering. Such people were cooking their food on Kerosene but Delhi Government has stopped supply of Kerosene also.

Government should construct night shelters in sufficient numbers

THOUSANDS OF HELPLESS PEOPLE ARE SHIVERING IN COLD – VIJENDER GUPTA 

New Delhi, 24th Nov. In a letter written to Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded that sufficient number of night shelters be provided to the poor people of the capital in view of their large number. These night shelters should not be limited to Railway Stations and Bus Stands. These should be provided in all the areas of Delhi so that the poor people living in open sky may get shelter in the night. 

He told that hon'ble High Court watched the inhuman condition in which the poor people pass nights in open sky. Delhi High Court issued many directions to Delhi Government regarding night shelters in the past years and also constituted a committee. The committee gave many instructions and directions to the Government to improve the condition of night shelters yet the work is very slow. This year sufficient numbers of night shelters have not been provided as yet to the poor people. The temperature in Delhi is coming down day by day. Severe cold weather is going to start. Night Shelters should be constructed before the onset of intense cold weather.   

It is the experience of last years that the night shelters are filled to its capacity before the 8.00 p.m. because the number of the poor people is very large and the numbers of night shelters are not sufficient. Those persons who get accommodation in the night shelters have to spend 3 rupees more for using toilets. In the early morning at 5.00 a.m. the poor people are driven out from the shelters. There is arrangement for only 3000 people in the night shelters run by the Government in entire Delhi whereas the number of helpless people living in an open sky is more than 1.5 lakh in the capital. 

Shri Gupta has said that the Government should make arrangements for breakfast and tea both times in the night shelters. There should arrangement for drinking water, blankets, beds, toilets, sanitation in the night shelters. There should also be arrangement for Doctors so that poor people may get free medical aid in the night shelters.

Notification for the regularisation 895 unauthorised colonies fails in its objective

CHIEF MINISTER SHOULD RESIGN FOR HER FAILURE TO REGULARISE UNAUTHORISED COLONIES-VIJENDER GUPTA 

New Delhi, 23rd Nov. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has raised a question to Delhi Government that why those 895 unauthorised colonies for which notification of regularisation was issued on 5th November, 2012 have not been regularised as yet. Why the Revenue Department of the Delhi Government has refused regularisation of these colonies? 

In a Press Release Shri Gupta had said that the way in which the Chief Minister of Delhi had announced providing cheap houses to the poor, loan of 1 lakh rupees to the poor, free gas connection to the poor, cheap flour, pulses to the people of Delhi, the same way the Chief Minister has announced about regularising unauthorised colonies. Is not it fraud with the people? Is not it obstinacy and misuse of position by the Chief Minister even after the caution issued by the Lokayukta of Delhi Justice Manmohan Shareen and a letter to the President of India against the Chief Minister? 

In view of the Assembly Elections, Delhi Government has been making misleading and false announcement to grab the vote of the people of Delhi which have not been fulfilled. Now, in view of the Assembly Election in 2013, the way in which Delhi Government had issued the notification for regularising 895 unauthorised colonies in haste and without making proper preparation and without legal remedies to secure vote of 50 lakh poor people living in unauthorised colonies, is not a fraud to the people, Government departments, Lokayukta, Lt. Governor of Delhi? 

Government wasted crores of rupees on advertisements in Newspapers and other media for the regularisation of the colonies. Big hoarding were fixed all over Delhi in which the Chief Minister was shown patting herself. Who is responsible for the wastage of so much public money on advertisements? Will the Government refund this money to the treasury from her party fund? Will the Chief Minister apologize to the people for her failure to regularise the colonies? Even before this at the time of Assembly Elections in 2008, the Chief Minister had got provisional certificates distributed through Congress President Sonia Gandhi for securing the votes of the people of unauthorised colonies in a big public meeting, which was later on declared to be invalid. Will the Chief Minister take responsibility of all these and resign from her post?

Government should immediately withdraw increase in circle rates

BY INCREASING THE CIRCLE RATES GOVERNMENT HAS BROKEN THE DREAMS OF THE POOR PEOPLE TO HAVE A HOUSE OF THEIR OWN – VIJENDER GUPTA 

New Delhi, 22nd Nov. BJP is of the view that up to 200 percent increase in the circle rates is additional burden on the people during the time of price spiral. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that the Government had increased circle rates for the 3rd time in November, 2011. Within a year, by increasing circle rates for the fourth time, Government has broken the dream of the homeless people to have house of their own. He has demanded the Government to withdraw the heavy increase in circle rates immediately. 

Shri Gupta told that all the areas of the capital have been divided in eight categories. 60 percent of the population of Delhi lives in E, F, G, H categories. The unauthorised colonies come under G and H category in which 50 lakh people live without any basic amenities. Government should not have increased the circle rates of E, F, G & H categories because the poor people live in these areas. 

Government has recently issued the statistics on Delhi. It has been shown that 68 percent of the families of the capital have houses of their own. These data have been cleverly issued by the Government so that its failures could be covered up. The reality is that 50 percent people do not have houses of their own. In joint families people have separate kitchens because they don't have capacity to purchase separate houses. The price of even one room flat in Delhi is not less than 20 lakh rupees. 

In Delhi Circle rate was increased for the first time on 18th July, 2007. After that in February and November, 2011, there was steep hike in the circle rates. Now the circle rate has been increased for the fourth time on 21st November by Delhi Government when the Government knows that in Delhi the first priority of the people is a house. Due to increase in circle rates and increase in the population in Delhi now land has become scarce. In this situation land and building mafia is benefiting. The needy people have to pay 4000 to 5000 rupees per month for one room. 60 percent of the population of Delhi earns less than 8000 rupees per month. These people have to spend 60 percent of their income on house rent. In this situation Government should not have increased circle rates and given priority to the houses of the people because these 60 percent poor people of Delhi are the backbone of economy of Delhi.
