BJP stir against UPA govt

TNN Jun 12, 2011, 12.35am IST
NEW DELHI: The BJP on Saturday protested in different parts of the city against the Congress-led UPA government, blaming it for spiralling corruption, black money and the midnight crackdown on Baba Ramdev's supporters.
Chief minister Sheila Dikshit's government too came under attack with the BJP terming it "corrupt".
BJP workers called the stir a "satyagraha", which lasted for 10 hours at 14 prominent places across the capital. Senior BJP leaders said their stir was a decisive fight against the anti-people policies and actions of the Centre and the Delhi government.
Vijender Gupta, president of Delhi BJP, called the police action on the yoga guru's supporters at Ramlila Maidan as "the most barbaric act after the country's independence", and demanded the dismissal of home minister P Chidambaram, union minister Kapil Sibal and Congress general secretaryDigvijay Singh. He said criminal cases should be lodged against them and they be sent to jail.
