New Delhi, 12 June
2012: Delhi BJP Spokesman Mr. Vijay Jolly, MLA
Dharm Deo Solanki & BJP unauthorized colonies Convener Krishan Gehlot today
accused Delhi Govt. for its gimmick plans afoot on the issue of development in
1,639 unauthorized colonies in Delhi. Sheila Govt. has repeatedly tricked the poor
people in illegal colonies only with the aim of securing their votes just
before the 2003 & 2008 Delhi
assembly elections. Sheila Dikshit meeting & thanking UD Minister Kamal
Nath on the issue is like throwing “dust in the eyes” of 55 lakh poor people
living in unauthorized colonies.
BJP Spokesman Mr. Jolly recalled that UPA
Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi had distributed provisional certificates to RWAs
of unauthorized colonies at Chhatrasal Stadium on 4th Oct 2008. And
in the presence of then UD Minister Mr. Jaipal Reddy & Delhi CM Sheila
Dikshit. It was described as a historic moment for the planed development of
illegal colonies. UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi at that time had
complimented Delhi Govt. for making provision of Rs. 2,800 crore for executing
development works in these colonies.
But BJP Leader
Mr. Jolly, Dharm Deo & Gehlot revealed that Delhi govt. floated tenders for
Rs. 700 crore. Works worth Rs. 300 crore were only executed. And after coming
to power again, Delhi
Govt. cancelled tenders worth Rs. 400 crore. So Sonia Gandhi’s accolades were
mere rhetoric’s stated BJP Spokesman Mr. Jolly.
The recent CAG report tabled in Delhi assembly reveals the non utilization of
Rs. 372.66 crore meant for development works in unauthorized colonies. BJP
leader Mr. Jolly said the Delhi Govt. could only spend 26% of the funds whereas
74% of the funds were left unspent. This is the non serious approach of Delhi
Govt. on unauthorized colonies stated BJP leaders.
BJP Spokesman Mr. Jolly, Dharmdeo Solanki & Krishan
Gehlot said that MLA & MCD Councilors fund is not allowed to be used for
development in unauthorized colonies by Delhi
govt. The slow progress on the issue is due to the tortoise working style of
Delhi Urban Development Ministry of Delhi Govt. With only 17 months left for
the next Delhi assembly polls, Delhi govt. has again started its “gimmick campaign” to befool the poor people living in illegal colonies stated BJP Spokesman
Mr. Jolly.
