For the first time in the history of Delhi roads will be sweeped by machines


Pradesh President inaugurates scheme of mechanised sweeping of roads

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta flagged off scheme a mechanised sweeping of roads by the MCD at Pusa Road, Karol Bagh.  Delhi has become the first Metropolitan City in the country where 900 kms of 60 ft. wide roads will be sweeped in the night by machines.  Before the onset of morning the roads will look clean.  These ultra-modern sweeping machines have been imported so that the people of Delhi may get world class sweeping of roads. 

            On the occasion of the inauguration of mechanised sweeping of roads the Chief Guest and Mayor Prof. Rajni Abbi, Chairman of the Standing Committee Shri Yogendra Chandoliya, Leader of the MCD House Shri Subhash Arya, Chairman of Environment Management Services Shri Rakesh Guliya and Additional Commissioner (Engineering Services) Shri Manish Gupta and other respected persons were present.  

            Shri Gupta told that his dream is to make Delhi clean and beautiful.  For the purpose of achieving this objective the MCD has for the first time in the history of Delhi framed an ambitious scheme for cleaning the roads by mechanised sweeping machines imported from foreign countries and implemented for sweeping of 60 ft. wide roads of Delhi.  These machines will collect five cubic meters of dirt and garbage from the roads in one go.  The operation of these machines will be fully mechanised.  This will help in saving human labour and the roads will become fully clean.  The sweeping work will be done in the night so that the people of Delhi may not face difficulty in using the roads.  Negligence or laxity in the work will not be tolerated.  It was the dream of BJP that the people of Delhi may be provided world class system of cleaning the roads.  This dream has been realised now.  He congratulated Mayor Rajni Abbi and all the staff of MCD.

            Speaking as the Chief Guest Mayor Rajni Abbi told that since the time she took over as the Mayor of Delhi she has tried to make Delhi beautiful and more beautiful.  Her priority is that the capital of India may look fully clean city.  For this purpose the scheme of mechanised sweeping has been started for the first time in the history of Delhi.  It will be extended in future.  Chairman of the Standing Committee Shri Yogendra Chandoliya told that in all the 12 zones of MCD these machines will start sweeping works after 9.00 p.m.  BJP wants to make Delhi free of garbage.  Leader of the House Shri Subhash Arya told that he wants to make MCD as the friend of citizens where the citizens may not face any inconvenience for getting their work done.  During the last four & half year MCD has initiated many schemes for the welfare of the people.  It has also provided many facilities to the citizens through E-governance. 

            Explaining about the scheme Additional Commissioner (Enginering Services) Shri Manish Gupta told that MCD has imported 12 machines for mechanised sweeping of 100 ft. wide 246.21 kms. long roads in all the 12 zones.  These machines will operate in the night so that road users may not face any difficulty.  MCD is committed to make Delhi fully clean and free from garbage.
