Delhi BJP Chief demands Ashok Chakra for Delhi gangrape victim


Delhi State BJP Chief Vijender Gupta today wrote to the Prime Minister and demanded to honour the Delhi gangrape victim by awarding her with the Ashoka Chakra, India's highest civilian award for bravery on January 26, 2013,the Republic Day.

In his letter Mr.Gupta applauded the courage and bravery the victim exhibited and how it has inspired the whole nation.

He also cited the case of Ms.Neerja Bhanot who was a flight attendant for Pan Am airlines and died while saving passengers from terrorists on board the hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 on September 5, 1986. She went on to become the youngest recipient of India’s highest civilian award for bravery, the Ashoka Chakra. 

In the end Mr.Gupta urged the Prime Minister to consider the feelings and sentiment of the whole nation and act swiftly on this matter.
