THE COMMON MAN IS CONTESTING AGAINST CONGRESS IN DELHI NOT THE BJP-NARENDRA MODI

Today Shri Narender Modi addressed three rallies in Delhi starting with rally at CBD ground under Krishna Nagar Assembly Constituency which completely changed the atmosphere of the Delhi Assembly elections to be held on 4th December.  In his touching and enthusiastic speech he described about the sufferings of the people of Delhi during the last 15 years which was highly appreciated by the people present in the rally.  With his slogans “pahle matdan phir jalpan” he requested all the women of Delhi that they should serve break fast to the male members of the family only after checking the ink mark on their finger, the sign of voting.

Shri Modi said that on behalf of the BJP’s chief Ministerial candidate Dr. Harsh Vardhan I want to assure that BJP will provide honest, welfare minded, transparent and accountable government.  Entire machinery will be under e-governance system.  Like Gujrat, ‘One day governance’ will be implemented in Delhi also.  Under this program the problems of the people will be solved within a day and accountability will be fixed at every level.

He further told that after independence Congress has followed the policy of divide and rule. Its objective was only to grab power and enjoy it.  Congress has treated the common man as vote bank.  The result is that India lagged behind and many countries which became free after India have joined the group of developed countries.  Corruption and misgovernance became order of the day and Congressmen became rich and the people became poor.  He appealed to the people not to forgive the Congress for its sins and defeat the party in the assembly elections.

Shri Modi asked the people to raise their hands and tell which is the most neglected area of the Delhi?  The people replied in one voice that it is trans yamuna area.  He further said that he has never seen such atmosphere in any assembly election.  He has addressed meetings in Chhatishgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi and found that this time it is not the parties but the people are fighting election.  On the one side is are the people and BJP and on the other the Congress party.  This time Congress will not be able to mislead the people and the whole world knows that BJP is coming to power.

Praising former PMs Shri Murarji Daisai, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Shri Nurshimbha Rao he said that the Congress party did not learn from their good work.  Price rise could not be controlled by world famous economists like Dr. Manmohan Singh and Shri P. Chidambram.  Without naming Shri Kapil Sibbla he told that a central minister has illusions that he is the most intelligent person and others are not.  This minister has said that since migrants from poorvanchal have started eating vegetables, it has become costly.  Shri Modi asked have not the poor people right to eat vegetables ?

In the beginning of the rally Shri Arun Jaitley told that the results of Delhi Assembly elections will be surprising.  The results of 8th December will show that the Congress gets lesser number of vote then 1977 elections.  At that time it had secured 33 % votes but this time the result will be worse and Congress will lose power.

BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that the migrants work hard for the development of Delhi but the CM Sheila Dikshit treats them as burden.  She says that the crime has increased in Delhi and Yamuna has become dirty due to migrants.  Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that the son of Chief Minister Sheila Diksthi is MP from East Delhi and she had appealed the poorvanchalies to vote for her son because she was married in Uttar Pradesh and hence a poorvanchaly. But why her statement changes after winning the elections ?  Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that the people of Delhi have resolved to make BJP victorious and dislodge Congress government.

S/Shri Nitin Gadkari, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Vijay Goel, Shyam Jaju, Dr. Anil Jain,  Dushyant Gautam, Ram Niwas Goel, Alok Kumar, all the BJP candidates and senior leaders were present in this rally.

New Delhi, 11 November:  Bharatiya Janata Party’s Chief Ministerial candidate for Delhi and former health minister of Delhi, Dr. Harsh Vardhan today wrote to Microsoft founder Bill Gates thanking him for the high words of appreciation for the Pulse Polio Programme of India. The pulse program was originally conceived and initiated in Delhi by Dr. Harsh Vardhan during his tenure as Health Minister in BJP’s regime from 1993 to 1998.

The Pulse Polio Program is the brainchild of Dr. Harsh Vardhan who has many international accolades and is recognized as a global icon due to his path breaking achievements in the field of public health.  In an article recently, Microsoft Founder Bill Gates had lavishly praised the Pulse Polio Program of India saying “India's success offers a script for winning some of the world's most difficult battles in every area of human welfare.”

In his letter to Bill Gates Dr. Harsh Vardhan said “As you know my country had more than 60 per cent of the world’s polio afflicted children. When we started our fight against polio, we were told repeatedly that we were aiming for the impossible, and, as you have also mentioned in your article, that ‘polio would be eliminated in every country before it was eliminated in India’.”

Dr. Harsh Vardhan further said  that India’s success in immunizing around 170 million children on a single day on special national immunization days, and to sustain this for years is a testament to the will and commitment of our people. “We are proud that India has not reported a single case of polio in the last three years,” he added.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan has also appreciated Bill and Melinda Gates foundation for their support to this crucial program. “As WHO prepares to declare India polio-free in the next few months, I want to place on record my appreciation for the immense support extended by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for our efforts,” said Dr. Harsh Vardhan in his letter.

Congress failed to fulfil promises made in its manifestos : Goel

·        Congress failed to fulfil promises made in its manifestos : Goel
·        BJP believes in Corruption-free development, Congress believes in development free corruption

New Delhi, November 10.  The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today lambasted the Congress government for not fulfilling its promises mande in the party’s manifestos in the past.

Addressing a press conference today, Shri Goel enlisted such promises made by Congress in its manifesto which were never fulfilled-

1.  Full Statehood: In 2003, Congress talked about getting full statehood for Delhi. For the last nine and a half years Congress is in power in both Delhi and at Centre. But no step has been taken to grant full statehood for Delhi.

2.  Lal Dora: In 2003 and 2008 manifestos, Congress promised extension of Lal Dora but this promise is yet to be fulfilled.

3.  Housing:  In 2003 Manifesto Congress said, “A development board for lower middle class government employees and industrial workers shall be constituted with sufficient funds at it disposal. A comprehensive project for providing built up houses……..shall be available to this section of the society. We shall Endeavour to enhance their dignity, prestige and social status. Similarly in rehabilitation in JJ cluster Congress promise a fresh look to rehabilitation of people living in JJ cluster.  In 2008 Manifesto, Congress further said that around 10 lac dwelling units are being constructed to relocate slum dwellers/urban poor under Rajiv Rattan Yojna.… 10000 houses ready for allotment.   All these promises remain unfulfilled.

4. Residential Colony for journalists:  In 2003 Manifesto, Congress promised Residential colony for journalists with soft loan and convenient installments. Current status is nothing has been done at all.

5.  Hospital:  In 2003 Congress said in its Manifesto that Construction of 650- bedded Rajiv Gandhi super speciality hospital at Tahirpur has started and is likely to be completed by December, 2004 with OPD services already started. Current status in 2013 is while only l OPD is still operational and the hospital is not fully functional yet.

6.  Power:  In 2003 & 2008 Congress promised to make Delhi a self reliant state in terms of power generation.  Reality is that Delhi has to purchase power from other states.

7.  Job opportunities:  In 2003, page no. 8 on Job opportunities for youth - it read as “Youth in Delhi shall have widespread opportunities to ensure their future, with an added feeling of social security. Recently they have released a document in which they have stated the unemployment is down from 5.76 to 1.74 lac in Delhi.  But actual figure is, there are 10.74 lac registered unemployed in Delhi. In ten years govt has given employment to only 11,242 people.

Shri Goel said, “There are host of promises which Congress makes on election eve and never fulfils. The people of Delhi want an answer as to why these promises are not being fulfilled.”

The BJP has a track record of fulfilling its promises in BJP ruled states. After coming to power in Delhi, the party will implement the development model which is based on long term vision and meticulous planning. “We believe in corruption free development while Congress believes in making development free corruption,” he added.

Statement of Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Former Union Cabinet Minister

1.As an anti-corruption activist and on behalf of the Delhi Pradesh BJP I am addressing this Press Conference to enthusiastically support the cleanest and most experienced candidate for the CM of Delhi, Mr. Harshvardan, the former State Minister of Health.

2.The Congress Party which is presently wallowing in cesspool of corruption is shocked by his unanimous choice for CM candidate.

3.Lacking necessary credentials to counter with a corruption free name, the Congress high command seems to have entered into an unholy agreement with the AAM AADMI Party [AAP} Chief Mr. Arvind Kejriwal to do its work for countering Mr. Harshvardan’s impeccable credentials during the electioneering after the date of scrutiny of nominations.

4.But Mr. Kejriwal’s moment of truth is at hand. He represents a motley crowd of anti-nationals, sleazeballs, and financial manipulators.

5.This crowd is attracted by AAP as yet camouflaged ideology. It therefore attracts anti-nationals such as those who want to hand over Kashmir to Pakistan, espouse the cause of Maoists and Naxalites, and pander to rabid Muslim fundamentalists such as Maulana Tauqir Raza who had announced a Rs 5 lakh cash prize to anyone who would behead a defenceless woman called Taslima Nasreen, not to mention Rs 1 crore for assassinating the US President George Bush.

6.Mr. Kejriwal claim to fight corruption is limited to addressing press conferences. This is called the shoot and scoot strategy. In the Vadra case all the material he presented were already in the publicly domain. But in his press conference re-disclosing the same he specifically said that he found no wrong doing by either Ms. Sonia Gandhi or Priyanka Vadra. That is Vadra is an independent power centre, which is laughable.

7.Mr. Kejriwal has failed to answer the allegations of financial donations from the very sources which he condemns. These allegations that have been published for example in Mail Today of November 4, 2010 and recently in Economic Times require for the sake of transparency in public life to be fully answered by him.

8.It is apparent that the AAP has no presence of experienced workers at the booth level. Hence the party will find it difficult to open its account in the Assembly elections. The Congress Party which has emerged as a defacto patron of the AAP is habituated to ditching allies when convenient politically, and that is what we will witness four days before the polling date.

9.Hence, I urge all those who want a clean Delhi Administration to back Mr. Harshvardan and give the BJP a sizeable majority in the new Assembly
