Goel calls upon Delhi’ites to set up new record for voting on December 4

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today expressed concern over use of unfair means by Congress party such as distribution of liquor, cash and gifts to influence the voters. Shri Goel met Delhi”s Chief Electoral Officer Shri Vijay Dev yesterday after he was physically assaulted by Congress goons in Model Town and apprised him of his concerns.

There are a number of sensitive polling booths and areas in the city which could be vulnerable and we have urged the Election Commission to make adequate arrangements to check any such attempts as BJP is in favour of free and fair elections.

“However we have strong reasons to suspect that our rivals are indulging in unfair practices which are not only unethical but also illegal. Attempts to bribe voters are condemnable and Election Commission should ensure that no such nefarious designs are successful. The BJP, as a responsible party is cooperating Election Commission and wherever we come to know about any such activities, the party activists are informing the authorities concerned. However, we would urge the authorities to act swiftly.”

Shri Goel further informed that in the case involving attack by Congress activists in Model Town on him and BJP candidate from this seat Shri Ashok Goel yesterday, an FIR has been registered.  This was a well planned physical assault in which vehicles carrying BJP leaders were damaged.

The Delhi BJP President said that there are enough reasons to believe that the Congress candidate from the area Kanwar Karan Singh was the mastermind behind this attack.

Shri Goel reiterated that the BJP will not be deterred by use of such unfair means by its rivals and it candidates will contest in the true spirit of democracy. Shri Goel also appealed all Delhi voters to come out and exercise their right to vote. “Voting is not only our right but it is also our duty and I am sure that Delhi will register a record breaking voting percentage and set an example for the rest of the country,” he added.

CONGRESS DOES NOT BELIEVE IN CONSTITUTIONAL INSTITUTIONS – DR. HARSH VARDHAN

Dr. Harsh Vardhan has said that the Congress Party and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit do not believe in Constitutional Institutions.  This is the reason why Congress has not promised about making the institution of Lokayukta a powerful body in its Election Manifesto.

He said that from the very beginning, the Congress has been a party which believes in dictatorship. Hence in the year 1975, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed emergency on the country against the public opinion. She had to pay for it by losing the elections.  Similarly, after ruling Delhi for the last 15 years, Smt. Sheila Dikshit has become despotic and anti people. She will also have to pay for it in the Assembly Election.  The people of Delhi have made up their mind to dislodge the Congress Government of Delhi and help in forming BJP Government under the leadership of Dr. Harsh Vardhan.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan further said that on the eve of every election, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit makes long promises to the people of the Delhi for securing their votes and after that she does not go before the people. The proof of this fact is that there are hundreds of Jhuggies behind the residence of Rahul Gandhi, 12-Tughlak Lane where the lights of development have not reached. On the other hand Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and Sheila Dikshit are continuously making promises to the people that they will turn Delhi into heaven.

He has appealed the people that this time they should make final decision. Such opportunity does not come again and again. They should help in forming BJP Government under the leadership of Shri Narender Modi at Centre and BJP Government in Delhi so that the country and Delhi may make rapid progress. Corruption, price rise, unemployment and poverty may be eliminated. Dr. Harsh Vardhan has claimed that he will decrease the prices of vegetables, fruits and food grains within 20 days of coming to power.

·        Inflation, power, water, corruption and women safety key issues: Goel

The Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today said that the party is gearing up with great enthusiasm to organize a series of public rallies to be addressed by BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi.

These rallies will be held on November 23, November 30 and December 1. He said that the focus of these rallies will be to highlight Delhi BJP's positive agenda for the city.

In a high level meeting of the Delhi BJP today, attended by BJP National General Secretary (Organization) Shri Ram Lal, BJP Councillors in Delhi and Assembly Election incharges among others, it was decided that the rallies will be held in such a manner to cover almost all the assembly segments of Delhi. The party leaders also decided to set in motion plan for extensive use of social media to mobilise support for these rallies.

“The first rally will be held on November 23 at Dwarka, Sector-14, DDA Park at 5.00 pm. It will cover all the 10 assembly constituencies of West Delhi as well as the constituencies of Palam and Bijwasan. The BJP candidates from the 12 constituencies will attend this rally,” Shri Goel said.

“The November 30 rallies will be held in East Delhi, New Delhi and Chandni Chowk while December 1 rally will be held in Ambedkar Nagar in South Delhi.”

Shri Goel further said, “It was decided in today’s meeting that the BJP will hold these rallies with simplicity incurring minimum of expenses. The issues of price rise, power, water, corruption and safety of women will be main issues, which will be highlighted in the themes and stage backdrops of these rallies.”

“There is a massive support for the BJP and Shri Narendra Modi in Delhi and the BJP cadres are in upbeat mood. We will surely register a resounding victory in the assembly polls. BJP’s message is straight and simple- ‘Badlenge Dilli, Badlenge Bharat’ ” Shri Goel said.

Shri Goel has also appointed Dr. Anil Jain and Shri Mahendra Pandey as the two convenors for the rallies.

It was also decided in this meeting today that Delhi BJP President, BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Vidhan Sabha, Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra will attend these rallies. AAP is ‘B’ team of Congress, ditched Anna, misused IAC fund: Goel

AAP is ‘B’ team of Congress, ditched Anna, misused IAC fund: Goel
·        AAP is using huge amount of unaccounted money for poll campaign: Goel
·        AAP should come clean on Anna’s allegations: Goel

New Delhi, November, 19:  Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is hand in glove with the Congress party. He said that the AAP is using the name of senior leader Anna Hazare for its political campaign even though Anna Hazare has raised objections to it.

Addressing a press conference, Shri Goel said, “We have always maintained Aam Aadmi Party is ‘B’ team of the Congress party. AAP has been working to discredit Anna Hazare, on the lines of the Congress party. Recent developments prove this. Anna Hazare has questioned use of his name for the political campaign of AAP, whose very creation was contested by Anna Hazare.”

Shri Goel said, “The Aam Aadmi Party is trying to mislead the people of Delhi in the garb of fighting corruption and noble ideals of governance. The reality is that AAP is using huge amount of unaccounted money to fund its poll campaign in Delhi. But, it must remember that merely by resorting to rhetoric, it cannot befool the people of Delhi.”

Shri Goel further said, “The actions of several members of the AAP including its convenor Arvind Kejriwal have raised many questions over the very purpose of the party. AAP should come out clean on these questions especially those related to misuse of India Against Corruption fund, receiving illegal donations for the party and projecting Anna Hazare as an associate member of the AAP.”

Jan Manch, formed by the activists of India Against Corruption (and former colleagues of Arvind Kejriwal) has charged Kejriwal with embezzlement of donation money to the tune of Rs 85 lakh collected during Anna Hazare's movement against corruption in Delhi. Now, Anna himself has questioned the misuse of that fund.

AAP calls itself the Aam Aadmi Party, but when it announced candidates, 11 of them turned out to be crorepatis. The list of AAP candidates includes 13 such names, which were part of either Congress or BJP till recently; one each from Janta Dal and CPM while two contested, and won, the last elections as independent candidates. All of them were earlier termed corrupt politicians by the AAP leaders.

Congress failed to fulfil promises made in its manifestos : Goel

·        Congress failed to fulfil promises made in its manifestos : Goel
·        BJP believes in Corruption-free development, Congress believes in development free corruption

New Delhi, November 10.  The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today lambasted the Congress government for not fulfilling its promises mande in the party’s manifestos in the past.

Addressing a press conference today, Shri Goel enlisted such promises made by Congress in its manifesto which were never fulfilled-

1.  Full Statehood: In 2003, Congress talked about getting full statehood for Delhi. For the last nine and a half years Congress is in power in both Delhi and at Centre. But no step has been taken to grant full statehood for Delhi.

2.  Lal Dora: In 2003 and 2008 manifestos, Congress promised extension of Lal Dora but this promise is yet to be fulfilled.

3.  Housing:  In 2003 Manifesto Congress said, “A development board for lower middle class government employees and industrial workers shall be constituted with sufficient funds at it disposal. A comprehensive project for providing built up houses……..shall be available to this section of the society. We shall Endeavour to enhance their dignity, prestige and social status. Similarly in rehabilitation in JJ cluster Congress promise a fresh look to rehabilitation of people living in JJ cluster.  In 2008 Manifesto, Congress further said that around 10 lac dwelling units are being constructed to relocate slum dwellers/urban poor under Rajiv Rattan Yojna.… 10000 houses ready for allotment.   All these promises remain unfulfilled.

4. Residential Colony for journalists:  In 2003 Manifesto, Congress promised Residential colony for journalists with soft loan and convenient installments. Current status is nothing has been done at all.

5.  Hospital:  In 2003 Congress said in its Manifesto that Construction of 650- bedded Rajiv Gandhi super speciality hospital at Tahirpur has started and is likely to be completed by December, 2004 with OPD services already started. Current status in 2013 is while only l OPD is still operational and the hospital is not fully functional yet.

6.  Power:  In 2003 & 2008 Congress promised to make Delhi a self reliant state in terms of power generation.  Reality is that Delhi has to purchase power from other states.

7.  Job opportunities:  In 2003, page no. 8 on Job opportunities for youth - it read as “Youth in Delhi shall have widespread opportunities to ensure their future, with an added feeling of social security. Recently they have released a document in which they have stated the unemployment is down from 5.76 to 1.74 lac in Delhi.  But actual figure is, there are 10.74 lac registered unemployed in Delhi. In ten years govt has given employment to only 11,242 people.

Shri Goel said, “There are host of promises which Congress makes on election eve and never fulfils. The people of Delhi want an answer as to why these promises are not being fulfilled.”

The BJP has a track record of fulfilling its promises in BJP ruled states. After coming to power in Delhi, the party will implement the development model which is based on long term vision and meticulous planning. “We believe in corruption free development while Congress believes in making development free corruption,” he added.

BJP will redevelop the Walled City to restore its glory and develop it along modern parameters: Goel

·         Congress’ failure to redevelop Walled city proving costly for lives of residents
·         With CM as chairperson, SRDC proves to be a disaster
·         BJP will redevelop the Walled City to restore its glory and develop it along modern parameters: Goel
·         Goel visits Ballimaran building collapse site, extends condolences to family of victims

New Delhi, October, 9:  The Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today slammed the Congress government in Delhi and the Congress MP and Union Minister Kapil Sibbal for completely ignoring the development of the Walled City.

Extending his condolences to the family of the victims, Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel who today visited the building collapse site at Ballimaran in the Walled City area said, “There is no point in indulging in blame game as the Delhi government always tries to shift the blame on the MCD. The fact is that because of the peculiar nature, history, legacy and rich cultural heritage of this area, there is need for exhaustive and holistic planning for complete redevelopment.”

Shri Goel, who has represented Chandani Chowk in Lok Sabha twice said, “The government has ignored the redevelopment of Chandni Chowk rendering thousands of dilapidated buildings dangerous for the residents, shopkeepers, traders and visitors in the area. Even the basic civic amenities have not been provided to the Chandni Chowk area.”

“One can see dangerous cobwebs of electric wires engulfing the by lanes of this area posing huge risk to common people. In 15-years the Delhi government has not been able to get underground wiring done in this area. The sewerage system is today non-existent here creating highly unhygienic condition in the Walled City. The entire area is sitting on a powder keg,” Shri Goel said.

The real question is about how the Delhi government has ignored the redevelopment of Chandni Chowk. It set up Shahjahanabad Re-development Corporation (SRDC) to take control of the development work being done by the MCD in the area. But, no redevelopment work has happened in the Walled City and the SRDC remains a powerless and toothless body.”

Thanks to the royal neglect of the Delhi government in the last 15 years, the walled city, particularly, Chandni Chowk, which was once known as the silver street and home to poets and musicians, has become a nightmare for the residents, shopkeepers and traders as well as the tourists.

Under the Delhi Master Plan-2021, the Delhi government had to provide fund for the implementation of project under Shahjanabad Re-development Corporation (SRDC) for the re-development of the Walled City and the MCD had to implement it. But, Congress’s confused decision-making and lack of political will have converted the project into a mess. As soon as MCD started implementing the projects, the Delhi government gave PWD the control of the project. The PWD has done nothing thereafter. About 900 Kataras and hundreds of buildings remain in dilapidated condition in Chandni Chowk area.

The result of this neglect by the Delhi government has been disastrous for people in the area. Ballimaran, itself, has seen several instances of building collapse killing many people- in July 2007, September 2011, August 2013, and October 2013.

The SRDC has been a saga of failure. It has done nothing to restore the glory of the Walled City. As the Delhi Chief Minister is the chairperson of the SRDC, she must explain the abject failure of the Corporation, which was set up to stall the re-development work by the MCD.

Shri Goel said, “The BJP, when voted to power, will re-develop the Walled City with the twin objective of restoring the old glory in consonance with the heritage status of the area and meeting modern standards of development. The Walled City will be saved from the desecration it has suffered at the hands of the Congress government and will become a major tourist attraction too.”

Delhi BJP President to file criminal complaint against Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi BJP  President to file  criminal complaint against Arvind Kejriwal

In a statement issued today, the Delhi Bharatiya Janata party said that in view of the mischievous and baseless allegations of corruption against the Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel by  AAP leader Sh. Arvind Kejriwal, a criminal complaint will be filed against him.

The Delhi BJP President has already served a legal notice to him. The reply given by Sh. Kejriwal has no specific details that could prove even an iota of the allegations leveled against the Delhi BJP President.  Hence the Delhi BJP President is compelled  to file a criminal complaint against Sh. Kejriwal.

Ironically Sh. Kejriwal’s vitriolic  and personal attack on Delhi BJP  is  helping the Congress most. It is surprising that instead of targeting the Congress government, AAP leaders are targeting the main opposition party BJP which is all set to  defeat Congress.

As people are able to see through Sh. Kejriwal’s attempts to divide the anti-incumbency vote thus helping Congress to make come back, his party is losing support. Many of his colleagues have left him in the past realizing that he is leading a Congress ‘B’ team.

Thus his recent outbursts are also a reflection of his growing frustration. The Delhi BJP believes  that political battles should not lead to personal attacks. The Delhi BJP will resist any attempts to vitiate the city’s political culture through mischievous and false allegations on any of its leaders.

Angry villagers share problems with Delhi BJP President, Congress neglected Delhi villages during 15 years

·        Food Security Scheme turns out to be failure, poor getting harassed by touts, getting lesser food grains
·        Angry villagers share  problems with Delhi BJP President, Congress neglected Delhi villages during 15 years
·        Goel assures villagers, BJP will do in 15 months what Congress couldn’t do in 15 years
New Delhi, Sept. 22. -  Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel today launched a scathing attack on the Congress government in Delhi for enhancing the food insecurity for millions of households in the city with rising prices of basic commodities like tomatoes and onions.
Addressing a public rally at Mustafabad today, Sh. Goel said, “The poor families are not getting forms for the food security scheme, forms are being sold in black ranging from Rs 50 to Rs 200 each. Touts are having a field day as people are being hassled for filling up and submission of forms.  There is  complete confusion and chaos  about the eligibility criteria for getting rations now- whether it is smart card, aadhar card or ration card?.”
“There are so many cards now-Aadhar card, ration card, smart card etc-now but no cheap ration. A number of people are also complaining of extremely poor quality of food grains. On top of it the prices of tomatoes have also now shot up to Rs 60 Kg along with onions which are being sold at Rs 80 -100/Kg.”
“The new food security scheme has thus hit the poor the hardest. They are left at the mercy of officials even as food grains meant for them is being swindled and sold in open market. With more than 50% of the vacancies in Food and Civil Supplies Department lying vacant and less than 2500 fair price shops, the Congress government has made a complete mess of the food security for common people in Delhi.”
Sh. Goel said, “Under the food security scheme implemented by the Delhi government, only 5kg per person per household food grains are allocated, whereas the earlier PDS sch

emes allocated atleast 35kg cheap food grains to each family. Thus a family of five which was getting 35 kg food grains earlier will in fact get only 25 kg food grains. This impels a greater insecurity for poorer families.
Earlier during the day speaking during his “Gaon-Gaon Sampark” Yatra in Matiala at Ghumanhera, Sh. Goel said, “More than 360 villages have been left completely unattended by Congress government during last 15 years. The BJP will provide public transport to connect each village in Delhi. There is complete absence of water supply and sewage systems in Delhi.”

During his yatra at Rawata, Gulabpur, Daryapur,Pandwala Kalan, Khurd, Daulatpu, Sikar and Jhatikra villages,  thousands of villagers gathered and share their anger and disappointment over the continuous state of neglect in  their villages. Shri Goel assured them that the BJP government will do for them in 15 months what Congress could not do even in 15-years.

BJP to contest assembly polls on key issues of water, power : Goel

·         BJP to contest assembly polls on key issues of water, power : Goel
·         BJP to unveil white paper on “State of water” in Delhi
·         Inflated water bills reflects towards people of Delhi

23 September, 2013:: The Delhi BJP today slammed the Delhi Government for total mismanagement of the Delhi Jal Board headed by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit which has resulted in over-charging people for water supplied to their homes in Delhi, 40% of which in any case does not get supply drinking water. By its own admission, the DJB, which is under the Delhi CM for past 15 years, the water bills have been inflated by 30% in the city.

In a statement issued today, the Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel said, “Water and power will be the key issues on which the BJP will contest the assembly elections. The party will soon release a white paper on the “state of water” in Delhi.”

“It is shocking to see that despite more than 1000 per cent increase in water tariff over the last 15 years, the DJB has illegally inflated water bills by 30% and charged them from the common people. The current water tariff rate in Delhi is already very high and the CAG has observed that it is nine times that of Mumbai.”

Shri Goel  further said, “People in Delhi have been handed over water bills running into lakhs of rupees due to faulty reading of water meters installed by the DJB or private companies brought in by the DJB. The DJB under this government continues to be insensitive towards people of Delhi.”

“Over-charging for erratic and inadequate water supply is harassment of people by the Delhi Government and token rebate will not do when bills for the months of June and July running into lakhs of rupees have been kept out of the purview of rebate,” he added.

The water department has been under the Delhi Chief Minister's direct control for the last 15 years. As chairperson of DJB, the CM has been responsible for not only the water supply and billing in the city but also for the cleaning of Yamuna, which, even the court says, has turned into a dirty drain.

Delhi produces around 835 million gallons per day (MGD) of water, which is at least 300 MGD short of the actual demand. The Chief Minister's biggest failure in ensuring water supply has been to get Haryana to release 80 MGD from the Munak canal in Haryana. Three completed treatment plants in Delhi await water and thousands of people in Delhi get no water or barely once a day.

The Delhi government introduced public-private partnership in water distribution saying that this model will improve water supply, stop massive wastage of water due to leaking pipelines and ensure correct billing. None of these has happened. This model under the present government has only aggravated people’s water woes in Delhi. This step proved the Delhi government's inability to provide basic amenities to the people.

Water mafia has a free run. The mafia is dependent on illegal extraction of water and colludes with staff to siphon off DJB supply and sell it. These tankers are have a field day because they cater to a large market in Delhi that would otherwise become DJB's responsibility, which has been shirked by the Delhi government in the past 15 years.
