Congress indulging in mudslinging, BJP to file a police complaint: Goel

n to stop derogatory campaign against Shri Narendra Modi despite   formal complaints. The party has also called upon all its cadres to counter the canards spread against it by Congress party and expose the misleading claims of Aam Admi Party.

In a statement issued today, the Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel said, “On Nov. 30,  derogatory pamphlets were distributed prior to Shri Narendra Modi’s rally.

In the past also this has been done and we had lodged formal complaint with the Election Commission but it still continues unabated. I do not see any visible action on ground in this regard and this has caused us deep anguish.”

“We are going to lodge a police complaint regarding this now and seek investigation. In gross violation of the poll guidelines, the print lines are missing on these pamphlets.  Such attempts are condemnable and show desperation of our rivals who have resorted to such undemocratic practices.”

Shri Goel  said, “Congress is not able to  get support from any quarter. Rallies by Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were a big flop with only handful of people being there. People are leaving Chief Minister’s public meetings in between and all surveys are pointing that Congress is trailing very badly. On the other hand Sh. Modi’s rallies are a huge success. All top leaders of BJP are drawing huge crowds. A desperate Congress is thus running mudslinging campaign now.”

Shri Goel also pointed out that the Aam Aadmi Party, which is actually “B” team of Congress, is making misleading claims about its support base. “Our party cadres have been directed that in the last leg of the campaign the half-truths of AAP must be exposed. AAp is the biggest violator of poll guidelines and it has made untenable and vague promises in its manifesto. Several of its leaders have been caught on camera agreeing to resort to unfair means and misuse their political clout.”

Shri Goel said, “The BJP candidates are focusing on positive agenda. While the party has successfully exposed the corruption and mismanagement of Congress, we have also presented a positive agenda for inclusive growth with a long term vision and plan.  People of Delhi have appreciated our positive approach and hence the BJP is heading towards a historic victory in Delhi assembly polls.”

Delhi BJP Treasurer and party’s candidate from Model Town constituency, Shri Ashok Goel was present at the release of the manifesto.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Vijay Goel said, “BJP is releasing local manifestos for assembly constituencies to fix constituency specific accountability. People want local area development programmes and local manifestos spell out such specific programmes. Similar manifestos, prepared by respective party candidates for other assembly segments will be released in days to come.”

Shri Vijay Goel further said, “The BJP will release its state level manifesto in next couple of days. BJP’s path-breaking initiative, Delhi Metro faces apathy of Congress govt.: Goel

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today expressed deep concern over the mishandling of Delhi Metro operation with an increasing number of snags, cracking of pillars and growing safety concerns. The commuters often feel harassed with metro trains halting quite often recently. It seems another major initiative taken by the BJP-led NDA government when it started Delhi Metro will lose its purpose if remedial steps are not taken immediately.

Addressing a press conference today Shri Goel said, "The Delhi government has a 50% stake in the DMRC. However there seems to be no action on part of the Delhi government to take corrective measures. The BJP demands a white paper on the present status of the metro with an action plan explaining the road map to resolve issues which may ground metro in the long run."

"The BJP also demands to know what action has been taken to stop frequent halts of metro trains. Whose accountability has been fixed for cracks in pillars and frequent technical faults," he asked.

It may be recalled that the physical construction work on the Delhi Metro started on October 1, 1998 during NDA regime and  thee first line of the Delhi Metro was inaugurated by Atal Behari Vajpayee, the then Prime Minister of India on December 24, 2002.

The DMRC was in fact set up in 1995 at the initiative of the then BJP government in Delhi. Today metro has become the lifeline of Delhi but with the expansion in its operation, the quality of metro services is a grave cause of concern.

Shri Goel said that cracks and faults in Delhi Metro pillars and other structures have been frequently reported.

The DMRC had earlier also rejected previous reports on major faults and cracks on the high-speed Airport Metro Express line in July 2012 and the sagging of Noida City Centre platform.

The cracks on pillars at Noida City Centre were not considered as serious initially. It was only on September 28, following media reports, that the DMRC admitted that there was deflection in one of the cantilever arms of the station that led to the sagging of its platforms.

The trouble-ridden high-speed airport service had to be stopped for six months from July 8, 2012 after the DMRC itself detected major faults on the line. It had initially categorized the problems as "minor", according to an inquiry committee formed by Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), holding DMRC responsible in its recent report.

Several cracks have appeared on some pillars of the Delhi Metro’s busiest line that carries 800,000 commuters a day between Dwarka and Noida, with experts calling for immediate repairs to avert a disaster.

Adding to the woes the DMRC is facing notice from a consortium of lenders with the Private promoter, Reliance Infrastructure moving out of Delhi Airport Metro Express Link project.

The lenders’ consortium, headed by Axis Bank, has sent recovery notices to both Reliance Infrastructure (promoter of the original concessionaire) and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (which is now operating the Airport Metro link).

Shri Goel said that an audit conducted by the Delhi government's transport department, found that the security at the stations needs to be strengthened further.

Commuters enter the Metro stations with their luggage and can easily ply to the ticket counters without their baggage getting checked. The luggage is scanned only before the commuter goes towards the automatic fare collection gates. Threats loom large over the access points to the Metro stations and the unpaid area of the stations as there are no provisions to secure these areas.

Some recent incidents

October 25, 2013: Hundreds of commuters, including women and elderly, were stuck in a Dwarka-bound Metro train at the Yamuna Bank station for almost an hour following a major technical snag. The evening rush hour and a packed train added to their woes; women and children panicked and some elderly people fell sick because the air-conditioning had stopped working.

October 18, 2013: Thousands of commuters had a harrowing time as the DMRC shut the Noida City Centre metro station for eight hours for repair work. This was the second round of repair work being carried out on the pillar; the first was undertaken from October 12 to October 14.

September, 2013: the Noida City Centre metro station had to be shut down twice due to faults identified in its structure.

On 11 June, 2013:  An eight-compartment train carrying 1,791 passengers was stranded in mid section between Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhavan Metro station, as the emergency brake could not be released after being applied. Thousands of travellers, including women and children had a harrowing time after being stuck inside the train for over an hour.

Zamrudpur Accident: In 2009, eight people died during the construction of the Badarpur line.

Cracks and faults in Delhi Metro pillars and other structures have been frequently reported.

Faced with loan exposure to the Delhi Airport Metro Express Link project turning into a non-performing asset, a consortium of lenders has initiated steps for recovery of the dues.

Congress failed to fulfil promises made in its manifestos : Goel

·        Congress failed to fulfil promises made in its manifestos : Goel
·        BJP believes in Corruption-free development, Congress believes in development free corruption

New Delhi, November 10.  The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today lambasted the Congress government for not fulfilling its promises mande in the party’s manifestos in the past.

Addressing a press conference today, Shri Goel enlisted such promises made by Congress in its manifesto which were never fulfilled-

1.  Full Statehood: In 2003, Congress talked about getting full statehood for Delhi. For the last nine and a half years Congress is in power in both Delhi and at Centre. But no step has been taken to grant full statehood for Delhi.

2.  Lal Dora: In 2003 and 2008 manifestos, Congress promised extension of Lal Dora but this promise is yet to be fulfilled.

3.  Housing:  In 2003 Manifesto Congress said, “A development board for lower middle class government employees and industrial workers shall be constituted with sufficient funds at it disposal. A comprehensive project for providing built up houses……..shall be available to this section of the society. We shall Endeavour to enhance their dignity, prestige and social status. Similarly in rehabilitation in JJ cluster Congress promise a fresh look to rehabilitation of people living in JJ cluster.  In 2008 Manifesto, Congress further said that around 10 lac dwelling units are being constructed to relocate slum dwellers/urban poor under Rajiv Rattan Yojna.… 10000 houses ready for allotment.   All these promises remain unfulfilled.

4. Residential Colony for journalists:  In 2003 Manifesto, Congress promised Residential colony for journalists with soft loan and convenient installments. Current status is nothing has been done at all.

5.  Hospital:  In 2003 Congress said in its Manifesto that Construction of 650- bedded Rajiv Gandhi super speciality hospital at Tahirpur has started and is likely to be completed by December, 2004 with OPD services already started. Current status in 2013 is while only l OPD is still operational and the hospital is not fully functional yet.

6.  Power:  In 2003 & 2008 Congress promised to make Delhi a self reliant state in terms of power generation.  Reality is that Delhi has to purchase power from other states.

7.  Job opportunities:  In 2003, page no. 8 on Job opportunities for youth - it read as “Youth in Delhi shall have widespread opportunities to ensure their future, with an added feeling of social security. Recently they have released a document in which they have stated the unemployment is down from 5.76 to 1.74 lac in Delhi.  But actual figure is, there are 10.74 lac registered unemployed in Delhi. In ten years govt has given employment to only 11,242 people.

Shri Goel said, “There are host of promises which Congress makes on election eve and never fulfils. The people of Delhi want an answer as to why these promises are not being fulfilled.”

The BJP has a track record of fulfilling its promises in BJP ruled states. After coming to power in Delhi, the party will implement the development model which is based on long term vision and meticulous planning. “We believe in corruption free development while Congress believes in making development free corruption,” he added.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan asks Sheila Dikshit to answer some important questions related to Delhi

DR. HARSH VARDHAN ASKS SHEILA DIKSHIT TO ANSWER SOME IMPORTANT QUESTIONS RELATED TO DELHI

BJP’s Chief Ministerial Candidate Dr. Harsh Vardhan has asked Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to answer some important questions on the plight of Delhi and failures of Congress Government. He has asked the Chief Minister to answer these questions to the people of Delhi. He has also said that if the Chief Minister likes, she may have debate with him face to face. These questions relate to major problems of Delhi, price rise, corruption, scams in Commonwealth Games, fraud with the people of unauthorized colonies.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan told that Mrs. Sheila Dikshit is the Chief Minister of Delhi for the last 15 years. But 30 thousand people of her Assembly Constituency are not supplied drinking water by the Jal Board even today.  Lakhs of children of Delhi are left at the mercy of education mafia every year.  The education mafia loots the parents. There is no proper arrangement for the treatment of the poor people in Hospitals. The Chief Minister of Delhi is a woman but the women are not safe in their houses.  Chief Minister had herself told that she is also concerned about the safety of her daughter.

He further told that there are two types of Delhi in the capital. One is Luetian’s Delhi and the other is Delhi of the poor people living in unauthorized colonies, villages, rehabilitation colonies, slums, jhuggi-jhopries and of about 2 lakh helpless people living in open sky.  Even after 67 years of independence, 1.25 crore people out of 2 crore population have not seen the rays of development.  Connaught Place is the heart of India but here one can see young person taking intoxicating material in the areas of the Hanuman Mandir, Shivaji Bridge, Tilak Bridge, New Delhi Railway Station, Paharganj, Minto Road, Gole Market etc. Is it the world class Delhi of Sheila Dikshit?

Dr. Harsh Vardhan told that now the time has come when the Congress Government and the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will have to answer the questions of the people.  Sheila Dikshit will have to own responsibility for the loot, chaos and negligence in Delhi.  People are fed up with the false promises of Congress Government. Now, Delhi is ready for change. The people want to see BJP Government in Delhi.  Even today Delhi faces basic problems of water and power, education, health, corruption, price rise, unemployment, insecurity, scarcity of houses and slums.

Goel raises “Five Questions” on price rise, Challenges Chief Minister to come up with answers

  • Goel raises “Five Questions” on  price rise, Challenges Chief Minister to come up with answers
  • Most vegetables out of reach of common people as insensitive Congress government suffers from Policy paralysis : Goel
The Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today  lambasted the Congress government for lack of resolve in controlling the spiraling prices  of essential commodities especially vegetables.

Shri Goel said, “The skyrocketing prices of potatoes, tomatoes and onions are all approaching Rs 100 Kg each. They are even costlier that petrol or diesel now.   With the food inflation already hovering at 18% to 19%, and now the prices of vegetables shooting up, the common people are founding this burden unbearable now.”

The prices of vegetables continue to shoot up and they have gone beyond the reach of middle and low income groups.  But the Congress government seems to be sleeping on this issue. The statements by various Congress ministers are turning out to be hollow promises. For many months now, the Congress government has been assuring Delhi residents that the prices will be brought under control soon but the ground realties speak otherwise.

“What we are witnessing today is complete policy paralysis at all levels. Add to that the insensitivity of Congress Chief Minister and ministers and other leaders. The result is that common people are suffering immensely.”

In  context of the inflation issue, Shri Goel  raised following five questions today seeking anwer from Congress government

1.       Why Congress government is  not stopping export of onions?
2.       Why the  Delhi government did not respond to NAFED’s repeated requests of arranging supply of onions for Delhi through  imports well in advance?
3.        Why  the food and civil supplies minister Haroon Yusuf is not being sacked for complete failure to control prices and ensure enough supplies?
4.       What action has been initiated against those government officials who are  responsible for monitoring prices and doing crisis management on price front  ?
5.       Why such poor quality onion which is not fit for human consumption is often provided through government run outlets?

DR. HARSH VARDHAN PAYS OBEISANCE TO THE SETTING SUN AND PRAYS FOR THE WELFARE, PROSPERITY OF THE PEOPLE OF DELHI

DR. HARSH VARDHAN PAYS OBEISANCE TO THE SETTING SUN AND PRAYS FOR THE WELFARE, PROSPERITY OF THE PEOPLE OF DELHI

New Delhi, November 8th.  Today Delhi Pradesh incharge Shri Nitin Gadkari, Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Pradesh President Shri Vijay Goel joined thousands of Poorvanchalis in paying obeisance to the setting Sun at Yamuna Ghat, ITO, Yamuna Pushta and Yamuna Colony.

On this occasion the aforesaid leaders prayed to the Sun God for the happiness, good health and welfare of the people of Delhi.  Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that Chhath pooja is the most important festival of 50 lakh Poorvanchalis living in Delhi. This festival gives the message of equality, harmony, discipline and fraternity to the society. This is sacred festival of dedication, discipline, sacrifice and firmness.  This festival enhances our energy of life, moral power and willpower.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan further told that BJP is the only political party which believes in Indian culture, civilization and fraternity. Other parties are busy in splitting the society and by grabbing power by hook or crook, loot the country and weaken the society. This time the people of Delhi have made up their mind to change the society and system through the change of Government in Delhi. He has appealed to all the Poorvanchalis that they should pray to the Sun God for the happiness, prosperity, welfare and development of the society.

Congress govt. forced devotees to brave health risk to celebrate Chhath in dirty Yamuna: Goel

•    Congress govt. forced devotees to brave health risk to celebrate Chhath in dirty Yamuna: Goel
•    BJP will do in 15 months, what Congress did not in 15 years in cleaning Yamuna: Goel
•    Goel takes part in Chhath Puja, reiterates declaring it as public holiday, when BJP is elected to power

New Delhi, November, 8:   Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today slammed the Congress government for compelling people of Purvanchal to celebrate Chhath Puja in dirty and extremely polluted Yamuna. He said that people braved the grave health risk in celebrating Chhath Puja due to neglect of the Congress government. Shri Goel took part in the Chhath Puja at ITO ghat of Yamuna.

Shri Goel said, “Lakhs of people throng to Yamuna ghats every year to celebrate Chhath Puja. This does not come uninformed, but the Congress government has always been found lacking in efforts. The government’s neglect has turned Yamuna into a dirty drain and people are forced to take grave health risk to celebrate Chhath Puja when they offer Arghya to sun god for their well being.”

Shri Goel said, “The neglect of Yamuna and proper maintenance of the ghats even during Chhath Puja betrays the inherent bias of the Congress government against the Purvanchali people. Several ministers of the government including the Chief Minister have openly blamed the Purvanchali people to hide their own failures for rising crimes in Delhi.”

“Every year devotees gather at the India Gate for Chhath Puja but it was shocking to see that the authorities prevented people from gathering at the venue this year,” Sh. Goel said.

Shri Goel further said, “The Congress government has neglected Purvanchalis and their cultural identity. Now, by asking some of the leaders to pay lip service regarding concerns of the Purvanchali people, the Congress stands exposed. The BJP will declare Chhath Puja a public holiday, when elected to power.”

Expressing his concern over state of Yamuna, Shri Goel said, “The government has spent more than Rs 2000 crore in the name of Yamuna cleaning but the river has only become unfit even for public activities. When elected to power, the BJP will do in 15 months what the Congress has not done in 15 years. Yamuna cleaning will take effect on the ground as soon as the BJP comes to power.”

In an affidavit to SC in October, 2012, Delhi Jal Board said that approximately Rs. 2072 crore has been spent by the Delhi government and Delhi Jal Board towards controlling and preventing the pollution of river Yamuna. By now, the Yamuna's polluted and black water should have been sparkling clean, as clean as the river's water is at its source. Instead, the 22-km stretch of the river in Delhi has become more polluted. The Congress government has failed to build a separate sewage flow and treatment apparatus.
