WE SHOULD FOLLOW THE PATH OF BABA SAHAB AMBEDKAR TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVE OF SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC EQUALITY-GOEL

In a function organized by the Delhi Pradesh SC Morcha at the BJP Delhi Headquarters today, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijay Goel paid floral tributes to the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his 58th Mahaparinirvan Diwas. On this occasion, he said that the challenge of completing the work of social justice started by Baba Sahab is still a challenge before the society. He appealed to the workers that they should follow the path shown by Baba Sahab Ambedkar and achieve social and economic equality.

Shri Goel accused the Congress Government of neglecting Baba Sahab and always insulting him. Congress Party was never serious about achieving the objective of equality and welfare mentioned in the Indian Constitution framed by Dr. Ambedkar. Pradesh President also called upon the dalit community to come forward and work for the empowerment of the community. Pradesh SC Morcha President Shri Krishan Lal Dhilod presided over the program. Goel calls upon Delhi’ites to set up new record for voting on December 4

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today expressed concern over use of unfair means by Congress party such as distribution of liquor, cash and gifts to influence the voters. Shri Goel met Delhi”s Chief Electoral Officer Shri Vijay Dev yesterday after he was physically assaulted by Congress goons in Model Town and apprised him of his concerns.

There are a number of sensitive polling booths and areas in the city which could be vulnerable and we have urged the Election Commission to make adequate arrangements to check any such attempts as BJP is in favour of free and fair elections.

“However we have strong reasons to suspect that our rivals are indulging in unfair practices which are not only unethical but also illegal. Attempts to bribe voters are condemnable and Election Commission should ensure that no such nefarious designs are successful. The BJP, as a responsible party is cooperating Election Commission and wherever we come to know about any such activities, the party activists are informing the authorities concerned. However, we would urge the authorities to act swiftly.”

Shri Goel further informed that in the case involving attack by Congress activists in Model Town on him and BJP candidate from this seat Shri Ashok Goel yesterday, an FIR has been registered.  This was a well planned physical assault in which vehicles carrying BJP leaders were damaged.

The Delhi BJP President said that there are enough reasons to believe that the Congress candidate from the area Kanwar Karan Singh was the mastermind behind this attack.

Shri Goel reiterated that the BJP will not be deterred by use of such unfair means by its rivals and it candidates will contest in the true spirit of democracy. Shri Goel also appealed all Delhi voters to come out and exercise their right to vote. “Voting is not only our right but it is also our duty and I am sure that Delhi will register a record breaking voting percentage and set an example for the rest of the country,” he added.

Congress manifesto lacks vision, same old promises are repeated: Goel

  • Congress manifesto lacks vision, same old promises are repeated: Goel
  • Congress should clarify its stand on water privatisation, lack of efforts to get full statehood in last 15 years: Goel

New Delhi, November, 21: The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today slammed Congress for repeating the same old promises in its manifesto which it fails to keep. He also demanded that Congress should clarify its stand on privatisation of water which has resulted in whooping water bills.

Shri Goel said, the Congress manifesto exposes its anti-people approach as it does not talk about reduction power and water tariffs and bringing down prices of essential commodities. No concrete vision or plan about ensuring safety of women is mentioned in it, only lip service has been paid.

While addressing people during his padyatras and election campaigning in Babarpur, Rohtas Nagar, Seemapuri and Gokulpuri assembly constituencies for BJP candidates Shri Naresh Gaur, Shri Jitendra Mahajan Shri Rampal Singh and Shri Ranjeet Kashyap , he lambasted the Congress for its doublespeak in the manifesto.

Following are the key points from comments made by Shri Goel in context of Congress manifesto:

Price Rise: Congress manifesto provides no solution to the problem of price rise. Only lip service has been paid by promising subsidised pulses and edible oil.  Why can’t the government bring prices down instead of talking about subsidies? We all know that subsidies are not sustainable in the long run. This shows that Congress is least bothered about finding solutions to problems of price rise.  BJP would ensure proper supply of essential commodities round the year.  Long terms contracts will be done with suppliers to bring down costs, PDS will be revamped and made corruption and leakage free, cooperative stories on the lines of super bazars will be encouraged with financial and technical support from Delhi government.

Women Safety: Despite the government facing flak for failing to crack down on crime against women, the Congress party’s manifesto seems to have failed to come up with any promise to make Delhi safer for women.

The Congress manifesto’s five point agenda on ‘Law and order: Focus on Women’ includes rather uninspiring measures such as special training of police force, gender training and increase women in the work force. The BJP strongly feels that there has to be complete modernisation of police force in Delhi, a special protection force for women is to be required. We also need fast track courts for such cases. But none of these measures are listed in Congress manifesto!

Statehood: Like 2008, Congress has made promise for full statehood. But what stopped Congress from getting full statehood  when there has been a Congress-led government at the Centre for nine years and Congress government in Delhi for 15 years. NDA led government had brought a bill on statehood to Delhi in 2003 but Sheila Dikshit and Congress in fact opposed it.

Laadli Scheme: To extend Ladli Scheme (that provides Rs 1 lakh financial assistance to a girl child who completes Class XII) to Qabil ladli (of additional Rs 50,000 to college going girls). But even the existing Ladli scheme has proved to be complete flop. The CAG report clearly says that almost half of the beneficiaries are getting dropped out of this scheme.

Education: Congress manifesto is saying that they will open new schools and start evening colleges. In last 15 years the Congress government has closed down atleast 80 government schools, not opened a single new college in DU and what stopped them from starting evening shift in all colleges of Delhi University?  The ground reality is quite different from their promises. Most of their promises have always remained on paper!

Shri Goel also slammed the Aam Aadmi Party for trying to misguide the people of Delhi by making promises on aspects, which fall outside the purview of Delhi government.

Shri Goel said, “AAP’s promise for the passage of Jan Lokpal Bill is a fake promise as even Anna Hazare said that it can only be passed by Parliament and not the Delhi Vidhan Sabha. AAP promises to give Delhi a full statehood ignoring the fact that it can only by granted by Parliament. AAP seems to have no idea about the federal scheme of India under the Constitution.”

The Delhi BJP has made its stand on all the critical issues very clear in its statements in recent times. The BJP reiterates its commitment to the progress of Delhi and welfare of people in the city. When voted to power, BJP will provide corruption free governance in Delhi

New Delhi, 11 November:  Bharatiya Janata Party’s Chief Ministerial candidate for Delhi and former health minister of Delhi, Dr. Harsh Vardhan today wrote to Microsoft founder Bill Gates thanking him for the high words of appreciation for the Pulse Polio Programme of India. The pulse program was originally conceived and initiated in Delhi by Dr. Harsh Vardhan during his tenure as Health Minister in BJP’s regime from 1993 to 1998.

The Pulse Polio Program is the brainchild of Dr. Harsh Vardhan who has many international accolades and is recognized as a global icon due to his path breaking achievements in the field of public health.  In an article recently, Microsoft Founder Bill Gates had lavishly praised the Pulse Polio Program of India saying “India's success offers a script for winning some of the world's most difficult battles in every area of human welfare.”

When we started our fight against polio, we were told repeatedly that we were aiming for the impossible, and, as you have also mentioned in your article, that ‘polio would be eliminated in every country before it was eliminated in India’.”

Dr. Harsh Vardhan further said  that India’s success in immunizing around 170 million children on a single day on special national immunization days, and to sustain this for years is a testament to the will and commitment of our people. “We are proud that India has not reported a single case of polio in the last three years,” he added.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan has also appreciated Bill and Melinda Gates foundation for their support to this crucial program. “As WHO prepares to declare India polio-free in the next few months, I want to place on record my appreciation for the immense support extended by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for our efforts,” said Dr. Harsh Vardhan in his letter.

Congress failed to fulfil promises made in its manifestos : Goel

·        Congress failed to fulfil promises made in its manifestos : Goel
·        BJP believes in Corruption-free development, Congress believes in development free corruption

New Delhi, November 10.  The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today lambasted the Congress government for not fulfilling its promises mande in the party’s manifestos in the past.

Addressing a press conference today, Shri Goel enlisted such promises made by Congress in its manifesto which were never fulfilled-

1.  Full Statehood: In 2003, Congress talked about getting full statehood for Delhi. For the last nine and a half years Congress is in power in both Delhi and at Centre. But no step has been taken to grant full statehood for Delhi.

2.  Lal Dora: In 2003 and 2008 manifestos, Congress promised extension of Lal Dora but this promise is yet to be fulfilled.

3.  Housing:  In 2003 Manifesto Congress said, “A development board for lower middle class government employees and industrial workers shall be constituted with sufficient funds at it disposal. A comprehensive project for providing built up houses……..shall be available to this section of the society. We shall Endeavour to enhance their dignity, prestige and social status. Similarly in rehabilitation in JJ cluster Congress promise a fresh look to rehabilitation of people living in JJ cluster.  In 2008 Manifesto, Congress further said that around 10 lac dwelling units are being constructed to relocate slum dwellers/urban poor under Rajiv Rattan Yojna.… 10000 houses ready for allotment.   All these promises remain unfulfilled.

4. Residential Colony for journalists:  In 2003 Manifesto, Congress promised Residential colony for journalists with soft loan and convenient installments. Current status is nothing has been done at all.

5.  Hospital:  In 2003 Congress said in its Manifesto that Construction of 650- bedded Rajiv Gandhi super speciality hospital at Tahirpur has started and is likely to be completed by December, 2004 with OPD services already started. Current status in 2013 is while only l OPD is still operational and the hospital is not fully functional yet.

6.  Power:  In 2003 & 2008 Congress promised to make Delhi a self reliant state in terms of power generation.  Reality is that Delhi has to purchase power from other states.

7.  Job opportunities:  In 2003, page no. 8 on Job opportunities for youth - it read as “Youth in Delhi shall have widespread opportunities to ensure their future, with an added feeling of social security. Recently they have released a document in which they have stated the unemployment is down from 5.76 to 1.74 lac in Delhi.  But actual figure is, there are 10.74 lac registered unemployed in Delhi. In ten years govt has given employment to only 11,242 people.

Shri Goel said, “There are host of promises which Congress makes on election eve and never fulfils. The people of Delhi want an answer as to why these promises are not being fulfilled.”

The BJP has a track record of fulfilling its promises in BJP ruled states. After coming to power in Delhi, the party will implement the development model which is based on long term vision and meticulous planning. “We believe in corruption free development while Congress believes in making development free corruption,” he added.

PRESIDENT SHOULD PASS ORDERS TO PUNISH SHEILA DIKSHIT

Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Vijay Goel, Vijay Kumar Malhotra write letter to the President of India
PRESIDENT SHOULD PASS ORDERS TO PUNISH SHEILA DIKSHIT FOR MISLEADING 50 LAKH RESIDENTS OF UNAUTHORISED COLONIES-BJP

New Delhi, November 7th.  In a letter written to the President of India, BJP’s Chief Ministerial Candidate Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Pradesh President Vijay Goel, Leader of the Opposition in Delhi Legislative Assembly Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra have demanded that he should direct the Prime Minister and Central Home Ministry to take punitive action against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for misleading the people.

In the year 2008 Smt. Dikshit had distributed provisional certificates to 50 lakh residents of unauthorized colonies through the Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi with the assurance of regularization for ensuring victory in the forthcoming elections. Lakhs of rupees were spent by the Government on the advertisement. The Chief Minister and the Government were aware of the fact that the hon’ble Supreme Court has banned the regularization of unauthorized colonies before providing the basic amenities in those colonies. The Government distributed provisional certificates to the colonies which came up on public land, gram sabha land, forest land, ridge area, ASI land, water bodies and the land under notified area only for securing votes.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan had filed case in the court of the Lokayukta of Delhi against the Chief Minister for misleading the people by misusing her position and influencing the voters and requested the Lokayukta to take action against her. The Lokayukta ordered for enquiry on the complaints of Dr. Harsh Vardhan on 31.8.2010 and the enquiry found that the Chief Minister Sheila Diskhit gave false assurance for securing the votes in Assembly Elections. The Government issued big advertisements in the newspapers and TV channels to mislead the people spending lakhs of rupees.

Just before the Assembly Election in 2008, the Government had issued Provisional Certificates for regularizing the unauthorized colonies. Similarly, on 4th September, 2012 just before the assembly elections the Delhi Government issued notification separately for amending the rules for regularizing the unauthorized colonies.

The purpose of the Government was to get the votes of about 50 lakh people of unauthorized colonies in favor of the Congress party by misleading them in the elections held in 2008 and to be held on 4th December, 2013. Taking serious view of the case the Lokayukta on 5.11.2013 held that the issuance of provisional certificates to the colonies was violation of Code of Conduct by the Chief Minister.

On 5.11.2013, Lokayukta found the Chief Minister guilty in this case. The same day he wrote a letter to the President of India Shri Pranab Mukherji requesting that he should caution the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit not to mislead the people in future. It is necessary to mention that the Lokayukta had written a similar letter to the then President of India Pratibha Devi Singh Patil to caution the Chief Minister. But Mrs. Sheila Dikshit did not stop. Smt. Sheila Dikshit issued big advertisements in the media with the photographs of Ministers Raj Kumar Chauhan, A.K. Walia, Yoganand Shahstri, Harun Yousuf, Mangat Ram Singhal and Arvinder Singh Lovely after spending public money.

2.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan has requested the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Delhi Government to answer following questions to the people:-

  1. Provisional certificates were issued in October, 2008. Assurance was given to regularize the colonies within a year. Chief Minister should state what is the legal sanctity of provisional certificate? If the colonies are being regularized on the basis of Provisional Certificates then why final certificates are not being issued to the residents?

  1. When the Supreme Court had given orders to the Government not to regularize the colonies without providing basic amenities then why did the Chief Minister gave illegal assurance of regularizing the unauthorized colonies deliberately?

  1. Is not the Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi equally liable for this crime?

  1. If the colonies have been regularized then why the registry of the properties has not been started?

  1. If the colonies have been regularized then why the employees of revenue department and Delhi Police are recovering money from the residents of the colonies for construction work?

  1. If the colonies are regularized then why the Government is not providing sewer, roads, water, power, transport, drainage, education, health facilities, community centre, employment, industries ?

  1. Why the DJB is not supplying drinking water to all the unauthorized colonies when the Chairperson of the DJB is the Chief Minister herself?

  1. Why Delhi Government treated the unauthorized colonies in step motherly way during the last 15 years? Why this treatment continues even today?

  1. Chief Minister should answer, has she regularized the colonies which have come up by grabbing the Gram Sabha Land, Public Land, Forest Land, ASI Land, Water Bodies, Ridge Area, Protected Land. If it has been done then under what law and rules of the country?

  1. Had the Congress Government and Chief Minister been serious about regularizing the unauthorized colonies then why they did not go to the Supreme Court for relaxing the ban imposed by it on the regularization of unauthorized colonies 15 years ago in its order on petition number 725/1994 ?
