After being slammed by the Lokaukta Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit should resign immediately on moral grounds - Vijender Gupta
New Delhi, 19th July. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit after being slammed by the Lokayukta in the case of misleading the poor people of Delhi on the occasion of elections by spending crores of rupees on advertisements at the time of elections.
It may be mentioned that commenting on a petition filed before him Justice Manmohan Sareen the Lokayukta of Delhi has recommended to the Hon'ble President of India that she should caution Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit that in future she should not make false promises. It may be mentioned that on the occasion of Assembly elections in the year 2008, the Chief Minister of Delhi had for the purpose of securing victory for her party promised in the public meetings to the poor people of Delhi and slum clusters that they shall be provided pucca flats after the elections. She had told the poor people of Delhi that 60 thousand multi-storeyed flats constructed at 14 places f Delhi are ready under the Rajiv Ratan Awas Yojna. These flats will be allotted to the poor after assembly elections 2008. At the time when the Chief Minister made promise for securing votes, not even land had been acquired in Delhi for Rajiv Ratan Awas Yojna. This way the Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Sheila Dikshit is directly guilty of making false promise to the people for securing votes at the time of elections. She should immediately resign on moral and legal grounds.
Shri Gupta told that Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is running the Government in a despotic manner violating all the democratic values. She has looted the public money during her twelve years rule. Government has nothing to do with the interests of the people. The Chief Minister had on the 4th October, 2008 organised a big rally at Chhatarasal Stadium and had distributed provisional certificates to 50 lakh residents of unauthorised colonies through Congress President Sonia Gandhi with the promise that all the colonies will be regularised. Now the task force of Delhi Government is putting the residents of these colonies behind the bars who are making even small construction. When the Shunglu Committee appointed by the Prime Minister for enquiry into the bunglings by Delhi Government in the CWG and found Chief Minister directly guilty of corruption then the Chief Minister had rubbished the report of a constitutional institution like Shunglu Committee.
During the rule of Chief Minister the poor people of Delhi continued to become poorer and the rich more richer. The people of Delhi do not have the basic amenities even after 12 years of Congress rule. The citizens of Delhi are feeling to have been cheated.
