Letter to President

To
Sh. Pranav Mukherji
Hon’ble President of India
Rashtrapati Bhavan,
New Delhi-110004

Respected Sir,

On behalf of Delhi BJP, the Chief Ministerial Candidate of BJP Dr. Harsh Vardhan, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Vijay Goel and Leader of the Opposition in Delhi Legislative Assembly Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra want to draw your kind attention an important case. The details of which are as follows:-

·        In the year 2008 Smt. Dikshit had distributed provisional certificates to 50 lakh residents of unauthorized colonies through the Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi with the assurance of regularization for the purpose of ensuring victory in the forthcoming elections. Lakhs of rupees were spent by the Government on the advertisement for it. The Chief Minister and the Government were aware of the fact that the hon’ble Supreme Court has banned the regularization of unauthorized colonies before providing the basic amenities in this in those colonies. The Government distributed provisional certificates to the colonies which came up on public land, gram sabha land, forest land, ridge area, ASI land, water bodies and the land under notified area for securing votes.

·        Dr. Harsh Vardhan had filed case in the court of the Lokayukta of Delhi against the Chief Minister for misleading the people by misusing her position and influencing the voters and requested the Lokayukta to take action against her. The Lokayukta ordered for enquiring on the complaints of Dr. Harsh Vardhan on 31.8.2010 and the enquiry found that the Chief Minister Sheila Diskhit gave false assurance for securing the votes on the occasion of Assembly Elections. The Government issued big advertisements in the newspapers and TV channels to mislead the people at the cost of lakhs of rupees.

·        Just before the Assembly Election in 2008, the Government issued Provisional Certificates for regularizing the unauthorized colonies. Similarly, on 4th September, 2012 just before the assembly elections the Delhi Government issued notification separately for amending the rules for regularizing the unauthorized colonies. The purpose of the Government was to get the votes of about 50 lakh people of unauthorized colonies in favor of the Congress party by misleading them both in the elections held in 2008 and to be held on 4th December, 2013. Taking serious view of the case the Lokayukta on 5.11.2013 held that the issuance of provisional certificates to the colonies was battened violation of Code of Conduct by the Chief Minister.

2.

·        On 5.11.2013, Lokayukta found the Chief Minister guilty in this case. The same day he wrote a letter to you requesting that he should caution the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit not to mislead the people in future. It is necessary to mention that the Lokayukta had written a similar letter to the then President of India Pratibha Devi Singh Patil to caution the Chief Minister. But Mrs. Sheila Dikshit did not relent. Smt. Sheila Dikshit issued big advertisements in the media with the photographs of Ministers Raj Kumar Chauhan, A.K. Walia, Yoganand Shahstri, Harun Yousuf, Mangat Ram Singhal and Arvinder Singh Lovely after spending the public money. She is still misusing her position influence and violating Code of Conduct to mislead the people and wasting public money.

Hence it is requested that in order to ensure free and fair elections and fear and holding sanctity of Code of Conduct, you should immediately issue order to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Central Home Minister to take punitive action against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Delhi Government, related Ministers and Officials and kindly inform us about the action taken.

With due regards,

Yours sincerely

(Dr. Harsh Vardhan)                              (Vijay Goel)                (Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra)

CM misleading people by claiming ‘lowest’ power tariff in Delhi: Goel

·         CM misleading people by claiming ‘lowest’ power tariff in Delhi: Goel
  • Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana have lower power tariffs: Goel
  • When elected to power, BJP will reduce power tariff by 30%, bring transparency: Goel

New Delhi, October, 10:  Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today slammed the Delhi Chief Minister for misleading people of Delhi on power tariff in Delhi. Shri Goel said that the Delhi Chief Minister’s claim that Delhi has lowest power tariff is misleading.

In a statement issued today, Shri Goel said, “Power tariff in states like Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Haryana are much lower as compared to the existing power tariffs in Delhi. The Chief Minister’s is misleading the people of Delhi by making false claims. Cities like Chandigarh and Dehradun too have lower power tariffs.”

Shri Goel further said, "It is surprising to see that the Delhi government colluding with the Discoms to fleece the people of Delhi. The Congress government has allowed a hike of over 72% hike in power tariff in the last couple of years and more than 300% hike in power tariff in the last ten years.

Shri Goel also said, “The power tariff slabs in Delhi are not consumer friendly. Several other states have better power tariff structure and offer flexibility to accommodate the power requirements of BPL people.”

The lowest power tariff slab available in Delhi is 0-200 units while many other states offer lowest slab as 0-30, 0-40, 0-45 or 0-100 units. Such a slab structure accommodates power requirements of the BPL households reasonably well, while power tariff slab in Delhi does not offer any such support to the poor.

Shri Goel further said, “The power policy of the Congress government betrays its anti-poor orientation. The 15-year misrule by the Congress in Delhi has resulted in BPL households receiving power bills in thousands of rupees just to light their one-room accommodation.”

Shri Goel said, “The BJP, when elected to power, will bring down the power tariff by 30% by bringing competition among the power discoms and making their functioning transparent. The BJP will also provide separate neutral to every household to protect them from “shocks” of inflated electricity bills.”

A very high power tariff exists in Delhi due to collusion between the present Delhi government and the power discoms. The Delhi Chief Minister always finds an excuse to support hike in power tariff saying that hike in tariff is necessary to ensure that people of Delhi continue to get power.

But, the Chief Minister exposed herself in 2010, when her government arbitrarily stopped the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission from reducing power tariff by nearly 25%. This clearly established hand in glove nature of understanding between the discoms and the Congress government.

Delhi BJP President thanks Delhi’ites, party cadres for making Vikas Rally a historic success

·         Delhi BJP President thanks Delhi’ites, party cadres for making Vikas Rally a historic success

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata President Shri Vijay Goel today expressed his gratitude to the citizens of Delhi and all BJP cadres for making today’s “Vikas Rally” at Japanese Park a huge success.

Shri Goel said, “The overwhelming response from Delhi’ites to Sh. Narnedra Modi and other BJP leaders’ speeches has made this rally the most memorable and historic. This wouldn’t have been possible without participation of common people and hard work of thousands of BJP cadres who had been working tirelessly for this rally.”

“On behalf of my party and all leaders and cadres I congratulate the citizens of Delhi for organising a historic rally. I am sure this rally is a clear indication that there is a strong pro-BJP mood in Delhi and people do not want to tolerate misrule of Congress anymore.”

BJP to contest assembly polls on key issues of water, power : Goel

·         BJP to contest assembly polls on key issues of water, power : Goel
·         BJP to unveil white paper on “State of water” in Delhi
·         Inflated water bills reflects towards people of Delhi

23 September, 2013:: The Delhi BJP today slammed the Delhi Government for total mismanagement of the Delhi Jal Board headed by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit which has resulted in over-charging people for water supplied to their homes in Delhi, 40% of which in any case does not get supply drinking water. By its own admission, the DJB, which is under the Delhi CM for past 15 years, the water bills have been inflated by 30% in the city.

In a statement issued today, the Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel said, “Water and power will be the key issues on which the BJP will contest the assembly elections. The party will soon release a white paper on the “state of water” in Delhi.”

“It is shocking to see that despite more than 1000 per cent increase in water tariff over the last 15 years, the DJB has illegally inflated water bills by 30% and charged them from the common people. The current water tariff rate in Delhi is already very high and the CAG has observed that it is nine times that of Mumbai.”

Shri Goel  further said, “People in Delhi have been handed over water bills running into lakhs of rupees due to faulty reading of water meters installed by the DJB or private companies brought in by the DJB. The DJB under this government continues to be insensitive towards people of Delhi.”

“Over-charging for erratic and inadequate water supply is harassment of people by the Delhi Government and token rebate will not do when bills for the months of June and July running into lakhs of rupees have been kept out of the purview of rebate,” he added.

The water department has been under the Delhi Chief Minister's direct control for the last 15 years. As chairperson of DJB, the CM has been responsible for not only the water supply and billing in the city but also for the cleaning of Yamuna, which, even the court says, has turned into a dirty drain.

Delhi produces around 835 million gallons per day (MGD) of water, which is at least 300 MGD short of the actual demand. The Chief Minister's biggest failure in ensuring water supply has been to get Haryana to release 80 MGD from the Munak canal in Haryana. Three completed treatment plants in Delhi await water and thousands of people in Delhi get no water or barely once a day.

The Delhi government introduced public-private partnership in water distribution saying that this model will improve water supply, stop massive wastage of water due to leaking pipelines and ensure correct billing. None of these has happened. This model under the present government has only aggravated people’s water woes in Delhi. This step proved the Delhi government's inability to provide basic amenities to the people.

Water mafia has a free run. The mafia is dependent on illegal extraction of water and colludes with staff to siphon off DJB supply and sell it. These tankers are have a field day because they cater to a large market in Delhi that would otherwise become DJB's responsibility, which has been shirked by the Delhi government in the past 15 years.

BJP geared up for September 29 rally, party leaders perform “Bhumi Pujan” at rally venue

·        BJP geared up for September 29 rally, party leaders perform “Bhumi Pujan” at rally venue
·        Party cadres fully charged up to make Sept. 29 rally historic event: Goel

As a part of its ongoing preparation for the BJP’s rally on September 29 rally the Delhi BJP today performed Bhumi Pujan at Japanese Park, Rohini which is venue of the rally. The rally is to be addressed among others by BJP’s Prime Ministerial Candidate for 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

A large number of BJP cadres and BJP leaders including former BJP Presidents Shri Mange Ram Garg and Shri Vijender Gupta participated in the Bumi Pujan performed today.

 Bharatiya Janata Party
Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel said, “This will be a historic rally and we are confident to make it the biggest rally to be addressed by Shri Modi. More than 4 lakh people are likely to attend the rally. This historic rally will provide an opportunity to Delhi’ites to listen to Sh. Narendra Modi and other senior BJP leaders.

Shri Goel said, “At the organizational level, the Delhi BJP is fully geared up to mobilize the support for the rally. The party leaders have fanned out to all parts of Delhi to garner support for the rally. Prabhat Pheris are being successufully launched in all 280 mandals and they are receiving veryh good response. This is an indication of the pro-BJP mood and growing support for Shri Narendra Modi.”

“Over the next few days meetings are being held at mandal and district levels in this regard.  We are already getting a huge response from the youth, unauthorized colonies, JJ clusters and slums. This is an indication that people are fed up with misrule of Congress and they find a viable alternative in BJP which can provide good governance,” he added.

The overwhelming support from all sections of society is an indication that Delhi’ites want BJP to bring back to power as the party has projected its positive agenda which provides people-friendly alternative model of development.

The Congress has nothing else to show but false claims. The BJP has already punched holes into these claims which are being displayed all over the city by blatantly misusing taxpayers money. According to even conservative estimates, more than Rs. 300 crore have already been spent on such hoardings.

The ABVP’s victory and Congress’ student wing NSUI’s rout in the recent DUSU polls, Congress’ rout in MCD by-polls and Gurudwara polls this  year and BJP’s handsome victory over Congress in the last year MCD polls is an indication which way winds are blowing. The September 29 rally will further reflect this anti-Congress and pro-BJP mood of common people.

Delhi BJP to announce assembly poll candidate list after September 29 historic rally

·         Delhi BJP to announce assembly poll candidate list after September 29 historic rally
·         BJP’s Councillors, MLAs to provide cheaper onions to Delhi’ites, Govt.’s onion stalls invisible
·         Delhi govt’s mismanagement resulted in soaring onion prices: Goel
·         Goel undertakes "Village Padyatra" amidst huge support from Delhi villages

Bharatiya Janata Party - Delhi Pradesh
The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party today announced that it would be coming out with a comprehensive list of candidates for the coming assembly polls in Delhi after September 29 Rally at Japanese Park in Rohini. This election rally will be addressed by Shri Narendra Modi and is likely

to be attended by more than 4 lakh people.

Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel said in a statement issued today, “As all the party functionaries are working overtime to make September 29 rally a historic success which is currently the main focus of all party activities, so we will come out with our list of candidates for the coming assembly polls after September 29.”

Shri Goel reiterated that as Delhi Election in-charge Shri Nitin Gadkari has stated, the criteria for selecting the candidates is winnability. “We are confident that in the true tradition of a cadre based party, once the candidates are announced, all party cadres and functionaries will work together for ensuring a historic victory in Delhi assembly polls to end 15 years of Congress’ misrule.”

Meanwhile, Slamming the Congress government’s mismanagement leading to skyrocketing of Onion prcies, Shri Goel who undertook a " village padyatra" in several villages in Shahbad-Daulatpur area  said, “Onions are selling at a price of Rs 70-80 a kg in the retail markets of Delhi for almost two months. The 600 onion stalls claimed to have been put up by the Delhi Government to sell cheaper onions are hardly visible on the ground.”

The Congress government in Delhi was contacted by NAFED to augment the supply of onions through cheap imports but the Congress government failed to respond and place any order. The result is that there has been a 245% increase in prices of Onions. In fact Onions are now more expensive than Petrol and Apples.”

BJP DELHI
“ Despite this unabated rise in the prices of onions and other food items, the Central Government has allowed export of onions in huge quantity at a prefixed rate, which is much lower than the current prices of onions. This policy of the government is beyond logical comprehension at a time when people are suffering due to unprecedented food inflation. The government continues to be insensitive to people’s woes,” Shri Goel added.

While the Delhi government has failed to perform its duty, the Delhi BJP today asked all its councillors and MLAs in Delhi to put up stalls to provide onions at affordable prices to the common people.

According to the latest official data, there has been 245 percent annual jump in onion prices for August. The prices of entire basket of vegetables have gone up by 77% in August this year as compared to August last year. Eggs, meat and fish prices are up by nearly 19 percent during the same period. Overall food inflation accelerated to a three-year high of 18.18 percent in August. This is a situation of total despair for the common public.

There are more worrisome signs as the government continues to turn a blind eye to people’s woes. Prices of essential commodities including the food items are set to rise further as the government is again planning to hike retail diesel prices by nearly 10 percent. Such an increase in diesel prices would be disastrous for the essential commodities’ market and push food inflation further.

Those who accompanied Shri Goel in the padyatra included among others legislator Shri Kulwant Rana, councillors Shri Jai Bhagwan Yadav and Sh. Devender Kumar, north-west district BJP president Tarachand Bansal and district BJP general secretary Shri Vinod Sehrawat.
