Congress Chief Ministers should learn from BJP Government of Goa, how to curb price rise – Vijender Gupta

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that the Chief Ministers of Congress ruled States of the country should emulate the decision of the Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar for decreasing VAT on petrol so that the people of their States may get relief from increased price of petrol.  It may be mentioned that Goa is the first State of the country which has decreased the VAT on petrol from 20% to .01%.
BJP has said that when the VAT on petrol can be decreased in a small State like Goa where the sources of revenue are limited then in Delhi which is densely populated State and where more than two crore people reside, why the Congress Government does not reduce VAT on petrol, diesel and cooking gas.  If the Government wants to give relief to the people it has many options.  BJP has been demanding that by reducing VAT on all the essential commodities, the Congress Government of Delhi can provide relief to the people from price rise.  But even after many requests of the BJP the corrupt, despotic and anti people Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit did not decrease or end VAT from any essential commodity.
The Central Government is going to increase the price of petrol by Rs. 5/- per litre and diesel by Rs. 2/- per litre w.e.f. 31st March.  At present the price of petrol is Rs. 66.42 per litre and price of diesel at Rs. 40.91 per litre.  After 31st March the price of petrol will increase to Rs. 71.42 and diesel Rs. 42.91.  It is apprehended that the Central Government may also take anti people decision of hiking the price of cooking gas also.  Due to it the freight of all goods will increase by 20% and price rise will become uncontrolled.
BJP Pradesh President told that the general budget 2012-13 has increased price rise by 30%.  By increasing the price of oil in the budget the Government is exploiting the common man.  This Government is not concerned about the common man.  Now the hand of Congress is throttling the common man.  In place of eradicating poverty the Government is making arrangements to eradicate the poor.
