In the memorandum submitted to the President it has been stated that corruption and back breaking price rise is at the climax in Delhi and the country. Many corrupt leaders of Central Government have been sent to jail. The Shunglu Committee and the CAG have found Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to be involved in corruption. The Lokayukta of Delhi has also confirmed corruption by the Chief Minister and Delhi Government, but the Government has not taken any legal action against the Chief Minister. The delegation told the Hon’ble President that Lokayukta is a Constitutional institution and after enquiry in a legal way the recommendation was again forwarded to Home Ministry and the Home Ministry sent the report to the Chief Minister which is not reasonable. Hence you should intervene in the matter.
The delegation lodged strong protest against the decision of Central Government to allow multi brand retail trade by foreign companies in the capital. They told that due to FDI in retail trade by foreign companies more than 20 lakhs retail traders shall be completely ruined and lose their employment in Delhi. The Government should issue directions for not allowing show rooms by multi-national companies allowed FDI in retail trade in Delhi. The delegation also lodged protest against hike in the price of CNG and told that the information is being received through media that the Central Government is also going to the hike the price of petrol shortly. We believe that it will put a great burden on the people.
It may be mentioned that the BJP Delhi Pradesh had initiated a signature campaign in entire Delhi on 17th and 18th December, 2011 under which more than 20 lakh people signed on the forms prepared by BJP Delhi Pradesh addressed to the President of India. Hon’ble President listened carefully to the delegation and assured of necessary action in this regard.
