Former Governor and a father figure of Delhi Shri Kidarnath Sahani expires : Last rites to be held at Lodhi Road Cremation Ground on 4th October at 6.00 p.m

New Delhi, 3rd October. Former Governor & great leader of Delhi BJP Shri Kidarnath Sahani (85) expired here today. He was the Governor of Goa & Sikkim and also Mayor of Delhi and Chief Executive Councillor of Delhi Metropolitan Council. For the last few days, he was not keeping good health. He will be cremated on 4th October at 6.00 p.m. at Lodhi Road Cremation Ground.

His body will be laid for Antim Darshan at BJP Central Office 11, Ashok Road tomorrow from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. After that his body will be taken to the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground. The news about the death of Shri Sahani created a wave of sorrow among his colleagues and admirers. Senior leaders of BJP Shri Lal Krishan Advani, Leader of the Opposition Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Shri J.P. Nadha, Murlidhar Rao, Vijay Jolly, Vijay Sharma, Dr. Mahender Nagpal, Subhash Arya, Yogender Chandoliya, Dr. S.C.L. Gupta and other senior leaders went for his last Darshan and became emotional.

Shri Sahani was born in Rawalpindi City, presently in Pakistan and Shri Sahani and his family came to India after partition. Shri Sahani worked very hard for the prosperity of the refugees and his contribution to the progress of Janasangh was historic. During emergency he worked underground and went for foreign country like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in disguise and propagated against the dictatorship of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He also worked as Deputy Mayor of Delhi & Chairman of the Standing Committee of MCD. As the President of BJP Delhi Pradesh he worked for the expansion of the organisations. Many leaders and workers have expressed their sorrow over the death of Shri Sahani.
