Government should restore reception of TV Broadcast in houses of the poor people immediately

GOVERNMENT SHOULD PROVIDE FACILITY OF DISH TV, SET TOP BOX AT CONCESSIONAL RATES TO THE POOR – VIJENDER GUPTA

New Delhi, 31st Oct. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that the decision of the Government to stop TV broadcast to the lakhs of consumers of Delhi is retrograde and inhuman and demanded the Government that it should not deprive the basic rights of the poor people to watch Television without installing set top box and dish antenna in Delhi.

He told that Government will stop TV broadcast to lakhs of poor people of Delhi with effect from the midnight of 31st October. Their only fault is that they could not get Dish Antenna and Set Top Box in their houses costing of 2000 rupees. Shri Gupta has demanded that Government should provide subsidy to the poor people for installing Dish Antenna and should allow atleast hundred days for this work so that they may be able to get Set Top Box at concessional rates in their houses.

Delhi BJP is of the view that since the Congress Government is completely involved in corruption from top to bottom, it has taken anti people decision to deprive the poor people right to watch TV programs in their houses because if the corruption of Government is exposed before the poor people then the Congress Party will be certainly defeated in the forthcoming elections.

BJP Pradesh President has expressed his surprise that during the times of information explosion, TV is the only medium of getting information for the poor people which helps them to get information sitting in their houses with the members of their family and it also provides them entertainment at low cost. In Delhi the tickets of cinema houses are very costly. Hence Television is the only medium for the poor people to watch films and TV serials. People living in cities like Delhi are also suffering from worries and tension. TV entertainment provides new lease of life to them. No Government has any moral or social powers to stop it.
