Delhi BJP gears up for polls, state executive meet to discuss poll strategy

  • Shri Rajnath Singh to address “Youth for Change” at Talkatora on 18 June
  • Youth are potential agents of change, Congress ignored them: Goel
New Delhi, June 12 In a bid to give fillip to its preparations for the coming assembly polls in Delhi, the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party will be holding a crucial meet of its state executive on 18 June to discuss the poll strategy. The party today also announced that it will be holding a series of public meetings over the next few days to highlight issues concerning various sections of society in Delhi.

Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today informed, “The party will be holding a youth convention in Talkatora stadium as well as public rallies at Palam and Kirari over the next few days. On June 14, we have convened the meeting of coordinators of all 70 assembly constituencies which were appointed recently to look after the poll preparations.”

The Delhi Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the party will be holding the “Youth for Change 2013” convention at Talkatora stadium on 16 June. BJP national president, Shri Rajnath Singh will address the convention.

“The objective is to connect with the youth and know their aspirations. We will be taking written feedback about their concerns and expectations regarding various issues in Delhi at this youth convention. Around 10,000 youngsters are expected to attend this programme,” informed Delhi BJYM President Shri Gauarav Khari.

The youth in Delhi are potentially the biggest agents of change and Congress government in Delhi has failed to do anything for them. The BJP wants youth to be involved in decision making at all levels. Their concerns must be taken into account and addressed. The “Youth for Change” convention is an important step towards this by the Delhi BJP.

The BJP is moving with a two pronged strategy in view of coming assembly polls. “While we are mobilising our cadres and leaders at the organisational front in preparation for assembly polls, we are also running a relentless campaign to hold mass meetings and rallies to identify with the issues concerning common people and highlighting the failure of Congress government,” informed Shri Goel.

The youth convention as well as mass meetings at Kirari and Palam will be focusing specifically on issues related to the youth, unauthorised colonies, problems of rural areas, poor track record of the Congress government on issues of power, water, transport, education and other public utilities.

“A corrupt and inefficient government which is more concerned about spending hard earned money of tax payers on fake publicity campaigns when it has nothing to show on the ground in terms of achievements has to be done away with and Delhi BJP is all geared up to do that,” said Shri Goel.
