Youth will spearhead the change in Delhi and country in coming polls: Rajnath Singh

A BJP government in Delhi will open 15 new colleges, provide concessional books laptops for youth: Goel


New Delhi, June 16 The National President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Rajnath Singh today slammed the UPA led Congress government for its complete failure to generate employment for the youth and for being mired in corruption at all levels fuelling price rise and making life of the common man difficult.

Addressing one of the biggest youth rallies held in the recent past in the Capital at Talkatora stadium Shri Singh said, “The BJP led NDA government generated around 7 crore jobs during its tenure whereas the Congress led UPA government has failed to create even a fraction of this during the last nine years.” The “Youth for Change 2013” was organised by Delhi BJYM to highlight issues related to youth.

Shri Singh said that the break-up between BJP and JD(U) was unfortunate. He said, There is no reason that any other political party should object to the appointment of a popular and successful chief minister as head of BJP campaign committee.

Addressing the convention, Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel said, “The youth of the Capital have been completely ignored by the Congress government in Delhi over the last 14 years. Whether it is the shortage of college seats or lack of employment seats, the youth of the city are facing a tough time.”

Shri Goel announced that the BJP will open 15 new colleges when it comes to power so that all students in Delhi can get admission. It will also start evening classes in all the morning colleges to further enhance availability of college seats.

“The BJP will provide laptops and educational books on concessional rates for the students in the city. It will also set up a Youth Commission to formulate specific policies for the youth in the capital and to oversee their implementation. The party will ensure that the education is linked to skill development and the city provides enough employment opportunities to the youth.”

BJYM’s national president Shri Anurag Thakur said, “It is heartening to see that amidst heavy downpour, thousands of youth have turned up for this convention. This shows how youth are finding greater connectivity with the BJP. The youth in Delhi will surely uproot the Congress in coming assembly polls as it has completely neglected them.”

Delhi BJYM President Shri Gaurav Khari said, “The youth in Delhi feel betrayed by the Congress government as it has done nothing for them except making false promises.”



The BJYM also distributed a feedback form for the youth who attended the rally at the venue. The youth were asked about various issues concerning them through this feedback form amongst other things. This feedback will be used by the party to formulate youth friendly policies. It will also help the party to raise issues concerning youth at various for a.
