BJP will oppose fuel surcharge in Delhi - Vijender Gupta

After the hike of power-water tariff, price of milk now Delhi Government is going to impose fuel surcharge on 168 lakh citizens of the capital which will increase the power bill. The Government and DERC have together taken decision in this regard. In the beginning of new year, the Congress Government is going to gift the people of Delhi hefty power bills.

Recently the Government hiked the power tariff by 22%. There is grave economic connivance between the Government and power companies due to which the Government wants to benefit the power companies. All the three power companies are continuously demanding that they should be allowed to impose fuel surcharge on the people of Delhi. This surcharge will be included in the power bills of next year. The DERC and Delhi Government have allowed the power companies to recover rupee one on every unit of power.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has termed the decision of the Government and DERC to impose fuel surcharge on the people as anti people and despotic decision. He told that before imposing this surcharge the Government and DERC should have taken the consent of power consumers. Imposition of fuel surcharge in the time of price spiral is like murder of the consumers. He told that the BJP along with the people of Delhi will strongly oppose the imposition of fuel surcharge. In any democratic Government, the interest of the people is above all. After Delhi Government took over the charge, it has been taking decisions against the common man and in favour of the rich and big companies. This anti people Government will have to face the consequences of it.
