WE SHOULD FOLLOW THE PATH OF BABA SAHAB AMBEDKAR TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVE OF SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC EQUALITY-GOEL

In a function organized by the Delhi Pradesh SC Morcha at the BJP Delhi Headquarters today, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijay Goel paid floral tributes to the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his 58th Mahaparinirvan Diwas. On this occasion, he said that the challenge of completing the work of social justice started by Baba Sahab is still a challenge before the society. Shri Goel said that until the objective of social justice is not achieved, political, economic justice cannot be realized.

He appealed to the workers that they should follow the path shown by Baba Sahab Ambedkar and achieve social and economic equality.

Shri Goel accused the Congress Government of neglecting Baba Sahab and always insulting him. Congress Party was never serious about achieving the objective of equality and welfare mentioned in the Indian Constitution framed by Dr. Ambedkar. Pradesh President also called upon the dalit community to come forward and work for the empowerment of the community. Pradesh SC Morcha President Shri Krishan Lal Dhilod presided over the program. BJP Chief Ministerial Candidate Dr. Harsh Vardhan and other Pradesh leaders were also present on this occasion.

Goel calls upon Delhi’ites to set up new record for voting on December 4

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today expressed concern over use of unfair means by Congress party such as distribution of liquor, cash and gifts to influence the voters. Shri Goel met Delhi”s Chief Electoral Officer Shri Vijay Dev yesterday after he was physically assaulted by Congress goons in Model Town and apprised him of his concerns.

There are a number of sensitive polling booths and areas in the city which could be vulnerable and we have urged the Election Commission to make adequate arrangements to check any such attempts as BJP is in favour of free and fair elections.

“However we have strong reasons to suspect that our rivals are indulging in unfair practices which are not only unethical but also illegal. Attempts to bribe voters are condemnable and Election Commission should ensure that no such nefarious designs are successful. The BJP, as a responsible party is cooperating Election Commission and wherever we come to know about any such activities, the party activists are informing the authorities concerned. However, we would urge the authorities to act swiftly.”

Shri Goel further informed that in the case involving attack by Congress activists in Model Town on him and BJP candidate from this seat Shri Ashok Goel yesterday, an FIR has been registered.  This was a well planned physical assault in which vehicles carrying BJP leaders were damaged.

The Delhi BJP President said that there are enough reasons to believe that the Congress candidate from the area Kanwar Karan Singh was the mastermind behind this attack.

Shri Goel reiterated that the BJP will not be deterred by use of such unfair means by its rivals and it candidates will contest in the true spirit of democracy. Shri Goel also appealed all Delhi voters to come out and exercise their right to vote. “Voting is not only our right but it is also our duty and I am sure that Delhi will register a record breaking voting percentage and set an example for the rest of the country,” he added.

FIR should be registered immediately, action should be taken against miscreants

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party today condemned an attack in Model town on its party president Shri Vijay Goel  and BJP candidate from the same constituency Sh. Ashok Goel who is also the Delhi BJP’s treasurer.

The BJP has already informed the Election Commission about the sensitivity of certain polling booths in this constituency and despite that this attack happened, said Sh. Vijay Goel.

“This kind of violence is condemnable and it will not deter BJP in any way,” added Sh. Vijay Goel.

In addition to  a complaint filed to the Election Commission regarding the attack, the party has also demanded that an FIR should be immediately registered. In the complaint filed with the Election Commission Sh. Ashok Goel has informed that the attack took place this afternoon between 11:30 to 12: 30 pm.

The attack took place at Gur Mandi, Rajpura. When Sh. Vijay Goel and Sh. Ashok Goel went to campaign there, then one Dinesh Kumar and Kehar Singh along with some other persons abused, threatened and then physically attacked with hockey sticks, iron rods and sticks.

They also damaged the two vehicles on which Sh.  Vijay Goel and Sh. Ashok Goel had come to this area. The miscreants also attacked the driver of one of these vehicles named S. Vinod Kumar who was injured.

Sh. Ashok Goel said in his complaint that these miscreants should be immediately removed from the area and appropriate action should be taken against the culprits to ensure free and fair polls.

Congress indulging in mudslinging, BJP to file a police complaint: Goel

n to stop derogatory campaign against Shri Narendra Modi despite   formal complaints. The party has also called upon all its cadres to counter the canards spread against it by Congress party and expose the misleading claims of Aam Admi Party.

In a statement issued today, the Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel said, “On Nov. 30,  derogatory pamphlets were distributed prior to Shri Narendra Modi’s rally.

In the past also this has been done and we had lodged formal complaint with the Election Commission but it still continues unabated. I do not see any visible action on ground in this regard and this has caused us deep anguish.”

“We are going to lodge a police complaint regarding this now and seek investigation. In gross violation of the poll guidelines, the print lines are missing on these pamphlets.  Such attempts are condemnable and show desperation of our rivals who have resorted to such undemocratic practices.”

Shri Goel  said, “Congress is not able to  get support from any quarter. Rallies by Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were a big flop with only handful of people being there. People are leaving Chief Minister’s public meetings in between and all surveys are pointing that Congress is trailing very badly. On the other hand Sh. Modi’s rallies are a huge success. All top leaders of BJP are drawing huge crowds. A desperate Congress is thus running mudslinging campaign now.”

Shri Goel also pointed out that the Aam Aadmi Party, which is actually “B” team of Congress, is making misleading claims about its support base. “Our party cadres have been directed that in the last leg of the campaign the half-truths of AAP must be exposed. AAp is the biggest violator of poll guidelines and it has made untenable and vague promises in its manifesto. Several of its leaders have been caught on camera agreeing to resort to unfair means and misuse their political clout.”

Shri Goel said, “The BJP candidates are focusing on positive agenda. While the party has successfully exposed the corruption and mismanagement of Congress, we have also presented a positive agenda for inclusive growth with a long term vision and plan.  People of Delhi have appreciated our positive approach and hence the BJP is heading towards a historic victory in Delhi assembly polls.”

THE COMMON MAN IS CONTESTING AGAINST CONGRESS IN DELHI NOT THE BJP-NARENDRA MODI

Today Shri Narender Modi addressed three rallies in Delhi starting with rally at CBD ground under Krishna Nagar Assembly Constituency which completely changed the atmosphere of the Delhi Assembly elections to be held on 4th December.  In his touching and enthusiastic speech he described about the sufferings of the people of Delhi during the last 15 years which was highly appreciated by the people present in the rally.  With his slogans “pahle matdan phir jalpan” he requested all the women of Delhi that they should serve break fast to the male members of the family only after checking the ink mark on their finger, the sign of voting.

Shri Modi said that on behalf of the BJP’s chief Ministerial candidate Dr. Harsh Vardhan I want to assure that BJP will provide honest, welfare minded, transparent and accountable government.  Entire machinery will be under e-governance system.  Like Gujrat, ‘One day governance’ will be implemented in Delhi also.  Under this program the problems of the people will be solved within a day and accountability will be fixed at every level.

He further told that after independence Congress has followed the policy of divide and rule. Its objective was only to grab power and enjoy it.  Congress has treated the common man as vote bank.  The result is that India lagged behind and many countries which became free after India have joined the group of developed countries.  Corruption and misgovernance became order of the day and Congressmen became rich and the people became poor.  He appealed to the people not to forgive the Congress for its sins and defeat the party in the assembly elections.

Shri Modi asked the people to raise their hands and tell which is the most neglected area of the Delhi?  The people replied in one voice that it is trans yamuna area.  He further said that he has never seen such atmosphere in any assembly election.  He has addressed meetings in Chhatishgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi and found that this time it is not the parties but the people are fighting election.  On the one side is are the people and BJP and on the other the Congress party.  This time Congress will not be able to mislead the people and the whole world knows that BJP is coming to power.

Praising former PMs Shri Murarji Daisai, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Shri Nurshimbha Rao he said that the Congress party did not learn from their good work.  Price rise could not be controlled by world famous economists like Dr. Manmohan Singh and Shri P. Chidambram.  Without naming Shri Kapil Sibbla he told that a central minister has illusions that he is the most intelligent person and others are not.  This minister has said that since migrants from poorvanchal have started eating vegetables, it has become costly.  Shri Modi asked have not the poor people right to eat vegetables ?

In the beginning of the rally Shri Arun Jaitley told that the results of Delhi Assembly elections will be surprising.  The results of 8th December will show that the Congress gets lesser number of vote then 1977 elections.  At that time it had secured 33 % votes but this time the result will be worse and Congress will lose power.

BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that the migrants work hard for the development of Delhi but the CM Sheila Dikshit treats them as burden.  She says that the crime has increased in Delhi and Yamuna has become dirty due to migrants.  Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that the son of Chief Minister Sheila Diksthi is MP from East Delhi and she had appealed the poorvanchalies to vote for her son because she was married in Uttar Pradesh and hence a poorvanchaly. But why her statement changes after winning the elections ?  Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that the people of Delhi have resolved to make BJP victorious and dislodge Congress government.

S/Shri Nitin Gadkari, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Vijay Goel, Shyam Jaju, Dr. Anil Jain,  Dushyant Gautam, Ram Niwas Goel, Alok Kumar, all the BJP candidates and senior leaders were present in this rally.

BJP is against power tariff hike, will reduce it by 30%: Goel

Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today slammed the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) for initiating the process to hike power tariff in collusion with the power discoms. He said that there is no need to raise power tariff as the BJP is convinced that power tariff in Delhi can easily be slashed by 30%, which it will do when elected after the polls.

Shri Goel said, “The DERC is working in a doubtful manner to hike power tariff in Delhi. The consultants have been appointed and advertisement has been given for the purpose. The BJP strongly condemns this attempt to hike power tariff. The party is committed to reduction of power tariff by 30%, if elected.”

“The BJP has been raising the issue of transparency in tariff setting by the DERC and also the process of tariff determination which has been marred by various controversies. The fact that the Consultants appointed by the DERC were also either Statutory Auditors or were working for one or the other DISCOM constitutes a breach of trust on the part of the DERC. There is clear conflict of interests on part of the consultants,” Shri Goel said.

Shri Goel further said, “The DERC seems to be in a hurry to hike power tariff while the election is around the corner. Whatever policy decision is to be taken regarding revision of power tariff should be taken by the new government. But, the DERC’s action reflects collusion between the regulator, which seems to be acting at the behest of the Congress government and the private discoms.”

The BJP had raised the issue about 8 months ago, when Shri Vijay Goel along with Member of State Advisory Committee of DERC Shri Anil Sood and other experts met the DERC Chairman on March 23, 2013. The DERC Chairman then admitted that the regulator committed mistake in the appointment of the consultants and assured the delegation to rectify the mistake soon.

But, the advertisement released by the DERC on November 28, 2013 appearing in newspapers published from New Delhi shows a totally casual and careless attitude of the DERC. On one hand the DISCOMS are likely to submit the Aggregate Revenue Requirements (ARR) and on the other, it is extending the date for submission of Request for Proposal by the Consultants. This means the DERC is not at all ready to review the ARR and undertake the exercise of True-Up.

Strangely the DERC has also diluted the qualification criteria for appointment of consultants as per advertisement appearing on its web site, where the columns ‘Position in Current assignment and Rate/Day or week’ have been omitted by design to accommodate someone who did not qualify the earlier criteria set by the DERC. This raises serious concern on credibility of the DERC.

Congress has wasted public money on ill-conceived projects: Goel

Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today lamented the fact that Delhi has deteriorated under the Congress regime while many other states like Gujarat progressed under BJP rule. Sh. Goel said this while addressing a public meeting at Agrasen Chowk in Model Town assembly segment along with Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Smt. Sushma Swaraj.

Shri Goel said, “While development in Gujarat under Sh. Narendra Modi has been acknowledged and lauded by several national and international bodies, Delhi has deteriorated and has been pushed backwards under the Congress regime. All the development in Delhi has taken place only on paper in the last 15 years. The Congress has lost the opportunity to take Delhi to prosperity because of gross mismanagement.”

“The Congress government has wasted public money on ill-conceived and superficial projects effecting scams after scams. The much hyped Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor fell flat the day it was inaugurated after spending crores of rupees. While the BRT corridor of Ahmedabad has been hailed for its efficiency by several international agencies,” Shri Goel said.

Shri Goel said, “Signature Bridge is another ill-conceived project undertaken by the Congress government. The estimated cost of the bridge was revised six times between 2005 and 2009 leading to huge escalation of cost. The CAG questioned cost escalation by Rs 672 crore. Rs. 1,131 crore-project was expected to be completed by the time of Commonwealth Games in 2010 but it is still under construction.”

Shri Goel further said, “The JJ Clusters in Delhi betray the real story of development under the Congress regime. The CAG has found that more than half of the population living in JJ Clusters don’t have toilet facilities on their premises and are forced to defecate in the open. The Congress government has not been able to provide even the basic civic amenities to JJ Clusters.”

The Congress party has been trying to mislead people by spreading misinformation about development in Delhi under its regime. Despite its small size, Delhi has performed miserably in terms of growth rate of gross domestic product, in comparison to bigger states like Gujarat. The position of Delhi in terms of GDP growth rate in the last few years has been given below:

a)          In 2005-06- Delhi was on the 18th position;
b)          In 2006-7 on 9th position; in 2007-8 9th position;
c)           In 2008-9- 12th position;
d)          In 2009-10 17th position;
e)          In 2010-11 18th position; and
f)           In 2011-12- 15th position.

On the other hand, the Planning Commission has showered lavish praise on the BJP ruled Gujarat for the development work undertaken in the state. Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia recently said ‘Gujarat is one of our better performing States. In terms of economic growth, we have noted that the performance has been good in Gujarat. The State has raised a number of issues on which the Central government should act; like slow decision making, faster action for better development.’

Inflation, women’s safety, power, water and corruption are key issues: Goel

Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today emphasized that unlike Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party has not made false promises in its poll manifesto. He said that while the Congress government has failed to check rising prices, the BJP will bring down prices in 30 days.

Shri Goel said, “The Delhi Chief Minister may find it unbelievable to bring down prices of vegetables and other commodities, but the BJP has the policy wherewithal to bring down prices in 30 days. The BJP-led NDA government has kept the prices in check during its regime. The BJP has a solid mechanism to contain prices, something at which the Congress government has failed miserably.”

“The BJP is not surprised to see the Delhi Chief Minister’s astonishment over BJP’s promise to bring down prices in 30 days because her government does not know how to check rising prices. This is why, the people of Delhi have been facing lots of hardship for several months,” Shri Goel said.

Shri Goel said, “We have already explained how the BJP will reduce the power tariff by 30% by introducing competition among the power discoms, providing separate neutral to every household and bringing transparency in the functioning of the discoms among other measures. Similar targeted approach will be adopted to address the critical issues in Delhi. The BJP will accomplish in 15 months what Congress could not in 15 years in Delhi.”

Shri Goel further said, “In the last leg of the campaign, price rise, women’s safety, power, water and corruption are the key issues for the party. The BJP candidates will expose the congress government over these issues and offer BJP’s solution on the same. Over the next few days, the party will reveal various mechanisms to fix the problems created by the Congress government.”

The Delhi BJP has distributed talking points on the key issues among all the candidates to expose the Congress party in the final days of the campaign. The Delhi BJP President is personally monitoring and supervising the campaign in all the 70 constituencies in Delhi. The party is confident of registering a thumping victory over the Congress in the polls.

Shri Goel said that there has been unparalleled spurt in crimes against women in Delhi as the government has failed to live upto the challenges of the safety of women. There have been spurt of nearly 250% in rape cases and over 500% in both molestation and eve teasing cases.

On an average Delhi has witnessed 5 rapes, 10 molestations, 10 kidnappings and two reported cases of eve-teasing every day this year. What illustrates the rampant lawlessness is the near doubling of the number of women to have been kidnapped this year.

There is a visible groundswell of support for the BJP in Delhi. This is manifest whenever BJP leaders hold public rallies in Delhi. An unprecedented crowd of the masses attended the rallies addressed by BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate, Shri Narendra Modi. But, on the other hand, when Congress leaders including the Congress President and the Vice-president addressed the rallies, there were just 7,000 people in attendance. Even they started leaving the rally when the Congress top leaders started addressing them.

People of Delhi gave the Congress party a long rope but the Congress government has failed them by colossal mismanagement. Now, people are fed up with the Congress’ misrule, symbolized by the Chief Minister. Even a survey, which has appeared in newspapers today, said that many top leaders of the Congress including the Chief Minister are all set to lose the assembly elections.

CONGRESS DOES NOT BELIEVE IN CONSTITUTIONAL INSTITUTIONS – DR. HARSH VARDHAN

Dr. Harsh Vardhan has said that the Congress Party and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit do not believe in Constitutional Institutions.  This is the reason why Congress has not promised about making the institution of Lokayukta a powerful body in its Election Manifesto.

He said that from the very beginning, the Congress has been a party which believes in dictatorship. Hence in the year 1975, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed emergency on the country against the public opinion. She had to pay for it by losing the elections.  Similarly, after ruling Delhi for the last 15 years, Smt. Sheila Dikshit has become despotic and anti people. She will also have to pay for it in the Assembly Election.  The people of Delhi have made up their mind to dislodge the Congress Government of Delhi and help in forming BJP Government under the leadership of Dr. Harsh Vardhan.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan further said that on the eve of every election, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit makes long promises to the people of the Delhi for securing their votes and after that she does not go before the people. The proof of this fact is that there are hundreds of Jhuggies behind the residence of Rahul Gandhi, 12-Tughlak Lane where the lights of development have not reached. On the other hand Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and Sheila Dikshit are continuously making promises to the people that they will turn Delhi into heaven.

He has appealed the people that this time they should make final decision. Such opportunity does not come again and again. They should help in forming BJP Government under the leadership of Shri Narender Modi at Centre and BJP Government in Delhi so that the country and Delhi may make rapid progress. Corruption, price rise, unemployment and poverty may be eliminated. Dr. Harsh Vardhan has claimed that he will decrease the prices of vegetables, fruits and food grains within 20 days of coming to power.

Goel files complaint with EC against malicious campaign of Congress against Shri Narendra Modi

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today slammed the Congress government in Delhi for its failure to stop discrimination against people from North Eastern states living in Delhi. The BJP will open “facilitation Centres”and set up a help line for the people from north eastern centres and ensure that there is no discrimination against them especially by the law enforcing agencies.

Addressing a meeting of people from north-eastern states today he said, “More than two lakh people from north- eastern states, of whom around 50% are females, live in the Capital. A large number of them are youth and they face discrimination, lack of opportunities and poor hostel facilities. The BJP will open more hostels for students and especially for working women from the north-east.”

Quoting a report 'North East Migration and Challenges in National Capital.”  Shri Goel said that according to this report 78% of the North-East population in Delhi is subject to several kinds of humiliation because of their appearance. This is a cause of grave concern.  There seems to be no visible action on the ground by Congress government to deal with this situation.

The BJP will ensure that there is a quick response mechanism to deal with any complaint filed by people from the north-eastern states. Law enforcing agencies will be sensitised too. “It doesn’t reflect well on the capital of the country if we can’t make our fellow citizens from north-eastern states safe in the capital.”

BJP’s complaint to EC  against Congress about malicious pamphlets targeting Sh. Narendra Modi

Meanwhile Shri Vijay Goel today filed a complaint against Congress Party for running a malicious campaign against BJP’s prime Ministerial Candidate Shri Narendra Modi. In his complaint, Shri Goel said, “On the morning of 23 November, the BJP woekers came across pamphlets that were inserted in Newspapers all over the city carrying objectionable indirect references to BJP’s prime Ministerial Candidate Shri Narendra Modi. It may be emphasized here that Shri Modi was scheduled to addressed a public rally at Dwarka in Delhi on the evening of October 23.
A similar malicious campaign was launched on the morning of 29 September also   when illegal hoardings and full page pamphlets were distributed along with newspapers.

We clearly suspect that this malicious campaign making personal attacks is being carried by Congress Party. This, clearly, is a gross violation of the model code of conduct by Congress.” Shri Goel urged the EC to take strong action and put an end to such campaign which also violates the basic norms of democracy. He further added that the growing popularity of Shri Modi and the marginalisation of Congress in the run-up to Delhi polls has resulted in Congress making such desperate overtures which are deplorable.”

Congress’ double speak on full-statehood issue:
Shri Vijay Goel lambasted the Congress Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit for her double speak on “full statehood” issue. The CM  made it clear by talking about “single command” yesterday that it is not in favour of full statehood for Delhi but the BJP rejects completely as it is in favour of no less than ‘full statehood” for Delhi, said Shri Goel.

“It is a classic case of Congress’ doublespeak where it says one things in manifesto while its leaders take an opposite stand. This clearly shows that Congress is not at all sincere about getting Delhi full statehood.” The 15 year rule of Congress witnessed not even a single serious move by the Congress government in Delhi or the Congress led UPA government at Centre to grant full statehood for Delhi. When BJP led NDA government tried to give full statehood to Delhi through a bill in 2003, the Congress government in Delhi had opposed it, said Shri Goel.

Number of women personnel will be increased in Delhi Police: Goel

·        BJP assures special welfare measures for Delhi Police with fixed working hours and better housing especially for junior cops: Goel
·        Delhi Police working under huge stress, police stations need better infrastructure
·        Number of women personnel will be increased in Delhi Police: Goel

Underlining the poor working conditions for especially the junior level cops in Delhi, Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today assured that that as a part of police reforms the BJP government in Delhi will implement special welfare measures for police personnel. He said it is unfortunate that the police personnel’s working conditions in Delhi have been grossly neglected by the Congress government during the last 15 years.

Shri Goel said, “Duty hours of police personnel will be fixed except under extraordinary circumstances to ensure better efficiency. The housing facility will be provided to police personnel right from the Constabulary level. Ration Money, that was approved and implemented in 2003 under NDA rule, will be revived.”

“When BJP is voted to power, existing vacancies in Delhi Police will be filled and additional recruitment will be made so that security of the city is not compromised with. Adequate number of women police personnel will be employed and deployed. The Congress government has ignored the pressing need for increased participation of women police personnel in Delhi in the wake of sharp spurt in crimes against women in the city,” Shri Vijay Goel said.

Shri Goel further said, “There have been reports of police personnel working under tremendous stress leading to several health problems among them. When voted to power, the BJP will set up mechanism for targeted counseling of the police personnel. Time bound promotion of police staff will be ensured and salary related discrepancies will be addressed.”

The Delhi Police are understaffed by some 4,000 personnel. Further, according to the Bureau of Police Research and Development, there is an urgent need for creation of 16,486 posts to increase the workforce in different ranks in the Delhi Police.

According to a medical survey conducted last year, bulk of policemen in Delhi suffer from serious health issues, ranging from cardiac problems, alcoholism, insomnia, giddiness, hypertension to depression.http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/images/pixel.gif

Shri Goel said that these issues will be adequately addressed by the BJP government after the elections. Infrastructure of police stations in Delhi will be improved. He said that though there are lots of challenges before the Delhi Police, appropriate measures and policies if taken earnestly will provide the right environment for police personnel as well as people in the city.

Congress stooped to new low fearing success of Modi rally at Dwarka: Goel

Congress stooped to new low fearing success of Modi rally at Dwarka: Goel
·        Personal smear campaign against Modi unacceptable: Goel
·        Dwarka faces acute water problem due to Delhi Govt's mismanagement

Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today lashed out at the Congress party for stooping to a new low by running personal campaign against BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi. Pamphlets targeting Shri Modi personally were inserted in today's newspapers which is highly deplorable.

He said that this is an act of desperation by the Congress and it only reflects Congress’ frustration at the growing popularity and mass appeal of Shri Modi.

Shri Goel said, “The Congress party knows that it has lost political ground in Delhi and elsewhere. So it  has stooped to a new low in electoral politics by trying to tarnish image of Sh. Modi.”

“The fact that Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party have resorted to similar smear campaigns against BJP leaders is another proof that they are working hand in glove. But, they must remember that spreading false personal propaganda against their political opponents is not good for democracy and electoral politics.

Delhi has maintained a standard of electoral politics over the years but Congress and AAP have broken all norms of decency in desperation,” Shri Goel said.

Highlighting the failures of the Congress government at the rally at Dwarka, Sector-14, DDA Park today, Shri Goel said, “Dwarka sub-city has severe shortage of water supply as the Congress government has paid no attention to the pressing demands of the people.”

In the last 15 years of its misrule, the Congress has only managed to deliver unprecedented rise in prices, acute water and power problems, corruption in the rank and file of government and a highly unsafe Delhi for women.

Shri Goel further said, “Almost half of Delhi does not get clean drinking water from the Delhi Jal Board. Over 40% of Delhi has no access to sewage. "

The Delhi BJP is geared up to organize a series of public rallies to be addressed by Sh. Narendra Modi on November 30 and December 1. The focus of these rallies will be to highlight Delhi BJP's positive agenda for the city and expose the misrule of the Congress.

Local manifesto reflects issues and aspirations of local residents: Vijay Goel

  • BJP releases its first local manifesto for Model Town constituency
  • Local manifesto reflects issues and aspirations of local residents: Vijay Goel
  • Manifesto for Model Town will be implemented in time-bound manner: Ashok Goel

The Delhi BJP today released its first local manifesto for the Delhi Assembly polls for Model Town constituency. It was released by Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel and party’s Chief Ministerial candidate Dr. Harsh Vardhan at the Delhi BJP headquarters at Pt Pant Marg. Delhi BJP Treasurer and party’s candidate from Model Town constituency, Shri Ashok Goel was present at the release of the manifesto.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Vijay Goel said, “BJP is releasing local manifestos for assembly constituencies to fix constituency specific accountability. People want local area development programmes and local manifestos spell out such specific programmes. Local manifesto for Model Town addresses the issues concerning the people of the constituency and BJP’s promise to address these issues. Similar manifestos, prepared by respective party candidates for other assembly segments will be released in days to come.”

Shri Vijay Goel further said, “The BJP will release its state level manifesto in next couple of days. The state level manifesto has its limitations as it cannot address the specific concerns of all the assembly constituencies. It will reflect the common concerns of all the constituencies and the BJP’s positive agenda to address those concerns to bring Delhi on the path of all round progress.”

BJP candidate from Model Town, Shri Ashok Goel said, “The local manifesto for Model Town has been prepared after extensive parleys held over a series of meetings with the people of the constituency. The inputs from RWAs, traders’ associations and civil societies have been incorporated into the manifesto. This is an output of the collective will of all the communities living in Model Town.”

Shri Ashok Goel further said, “All the promises made in the manifesto will be fulfilled in a time-bound manner. Specific programmes will be implemented in fully transparent manner. All the localities of Model Town will be transformed over the next five years.”

Congress manifesto lacks vision, same old promises are repeated: Goel

  • Congress manifesto lacks vision, same old promises are repeated: Goel
  • Congress should clarify its stand on water privatisation, lack of efforts to get full statehood in last 15 years: Goel

New Delhi, November, 21: The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today slammed Congress for repeating the same old promises in its manifesto which it fails to keep. He also demanded that Congress should clarify its stand on privatisation of water which has resulted in whooping water bills.

Shri Goel said, the Congress manifesto exposes its anti-people approach as it does not talk about reduction power and water tariffs and bringing down prices of essential commodities. No concrete vision or plan about ensuring safety of women is mentioned in it, only lip service has been paid.

While addressing people during his padyatras and election campaigning in Babarpur, Rohtas Nagar, Seemapuri and Gokulpuri assembly constituencies for BJP candidates Shri Naresh Gaur, Shri Jitendra Mahajan Shri Rampal Singh and Shri Ranjeet Kashyap , he lambasted the Congress for its doublespeak in the manifesto.

Following are the key points from comments made by Shri Goel in context of Congress manifesto:

Price Rise: Congress manifesto provides no solution to the problem of price rise. Only lip service has been paid by promising subsidised pulses and edible oil.  Why can’t the government bring prices down instead of talking about subsidies? We all know that subsidies are not sustainable in the long run. This shows that Congress is least bothered about finding solutions to problems of price rise.  BJP would ensure proper supply of essential commodities round the year.  Long terms contracts will be done with suppliers to bring down costs, PDS will be revamped and made corruption and leakage free, cooperative stories on the lines of super bazars will be encouraged with financial and technical support from Delhi government.

Women Safety: Despite the government facing flak for failing to crack down on crime against women, the Congress party’s manifesto seems to have failed to come up with any promise to make Delhi safer for women.

The Congress manifesto’s five point agenda on ‘Law and order: Focus on Women’ includes rather uninspiring measures such as special training of police force, gender training and increase women in the work force. The BJP strongly feels that there has to be complete modernisation of police force in Delhi, a special protection force for women is to be required. We also need fast track courts for such cases. But none of these measures are listed in Congress manifesto!

Statehood: Like 2008, Congress has made promise for full statehood. But what stopped Congress from getting full statehood  when there has been a Congress-led government at the Centre for nine years and Congress government in Delhi for 15 years. NDA led government had brought a bill on statehood to Delhi in 2003 but Sheila Dikshit and Congress in fact opposed it.

Laadli Scheme: To extend Ladli Scheme (that provides Rs 1 lakh financial assistance to a girl child who completes Class XII) to Qabil ladli (of additional Rs 50,000 to college going girls). But even the existing Ladli scheme has proved to be complete flop. The CAG report clearly says that almost half of the beneficiaries are getting dropped out of this scheme.

Education: Congress manifesto is saying that they will open new schools and start evening colleges. In last 15 years the Congress government has closed down atleast 80 government schools, not opened a single new college in DU and what stopped them from starting evening shift in all colleges of Delhi University?  The ground reality is quite different from their promises. Most of their promises have always remained on paper!

Shri Goel also slammed the Aam Aadmi Party for trying to misguide the people of Delhi by making promises on aspects, which fall outside the purview of Delhi government.

Shri Goel said, “AAP’s promise for the passage of Jan Lokpal Bill is a fake promise as even Anna Hazare said that it can only be passed by Parliament and not the Delhi Vidhan Sabha. AAP promises to give Delhi a full statehood ignoring the fact that it can only by granted by Parliament. AAP seems to have no idea about the federal scheme of India under the Constitution.”

The Delhi BJP has made its stand on all the critical issues very clear in its statements in recent times. The BJP reiterates its commitment to the progress of Delhi and welfare of people in the city. When voted to power, BJP will provide corruption free governance in Delhi

Inflation, power, water, corruption and women safety key issues: Goel

Delhi BJP gears up for Shri Narendra Modi's rallies
·        Rallies to be simple and directly focussed on positive agenda: Goel
·        Inflation, power, water, corruption and women safety key issues: Goel

The Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today said that the party is gearing up with great enthusiasm to organize a series of public rallies to be addressed by BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi.

These rallies will be held on November 23, November 30 and December 1. He said that the focus of these rallies will be to highlight Delhi BJP's positive agenda for the city.

In a high level meeting of the Delhi BJP today, attended by BJP National General Secretary (Organization) Shri Ram Lal, BJP Councillors in Delhi and Assembly Election incharges among others, it was decided that the rallies will be held in such a manner to cover almost all the assembly segments of Delhi. The party leaders also decided to set in motion plan for extensive use of social media to mobilise support for these rallies.

“The first rally will be held on November 23 at Dwarka, Sector-14, DDA Park at 5.00 pm. It will cover all the 10 assembly constituencies of West Delhi as well as the constituencies of Palam and Bijwasan. The BJP candidates from the 12 constituencies will attend this rally,” Shri Goel said.

“The November 30 rallies will be held in East Delhi, New Delhi and Chandni Chowk while December 1 rally will be held in Ambedkar Nagar in South Delhi.”

Shri Goel further said, “It was decided in today’s meeting that the BJP will hold these rallies with simplicity incurring minimum of expenses. The issues of price rise, power, water, corruption and safety of women will be main issues, which will be highlighted in the themes and stage backdrops of these rallies.”

“There is a massive support for the BJP and Shri Narendra Modi in Delhi and the BJP cadres are in upbeat mood. We will surely register a resounding victory in the assembly polls. BJP’s message is straight and simple- ‘Badlenge Dilli, Badlenge Bharat’ ” Shri Goel said.

Shri Goel has also appointed Dr. Anil Jain and Shri Mahendra Pandey as the two convenors for the rallies.

It was also decided in this meeting today that Delhi BJP President, BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Vidhan Sabha, Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra will attend these rallies. It was further decided in the meeting that the BJP’s candidates from the assembly segments falling under the parliamentary constituency in which the rallies will be held shall attend the respective rallies.

The BJP will not only expose the misdeeds of the Congress government in Delhi, but also share its positive agenda for Delhi in these rallies, said Sh. Goel after the meeting.

AAP is ‘B’ team of Congress, ditched Anna, misused IAC fund: Goel

AAP is ‘B’ team of Congress, ditched Anna, misused IAC fund: Goel
·        AAP is using huge amount of unaccounted money for poll campaign: Goel
·        AAP should come clean on Anna’s allegations: Goel

New Delhi, November, 19:  Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is hand in glove with the Congress party. He said that the AAP is using the name of senior leader Anna Hazare for its political campaign even though Anna Hazare has raised objections to it.

Addressing a press conference, Shri Goel said, “We have always maintained Aam Aadmi Party is ‘B’ team of the Congress party. AAP has been working to discredit Anna Hazare, on the lines of the Congress party. Recent developments prove this. Anna Hazare has questioned use of his name for the political campaign of AAP, whose very creation was contested by Anna Hazare.”

Shri Goel said, “The Aam Aadmi Party is trying to mislead the people of Delhi in the garb of fighting corruption and noble ideals of governance. The reality is that AAP is using huge amount of unaccounted money to fund its poll campaign in Delhi. But, it must remember that merely by resorting to rhetoric, it cannot befool the people of Delhi.”

Shri Goel further said, “The actions of several members of the AAP including its convenor Arvind Kejriwal have raised many questions over the very purpose of the party. AAP should come out clean on these questions especially those related to misuse of India Against Corruption fund, receiving illegal donations for the party and projecting Anna Hazare as an associate member of the AAP.”

Jan Manch, formed by the activists of India Against Corruption (and former colleagues of Arvind Kejriwal) has charged Kejriwal with embezzlement of donation money to the tune of Rs 85 lakh collected during Anna Hazare's movement against corruption in Delhi. Now, Anna himself has questioned the misuse of that fund.

AAP calls itself the Aam Aadmi Party, but when it announced candidates, 11 of them turned out to be crorepatis. The list of AAP candidates includes 13 such names, which were part of either Congress or BJP till recently; one each from Janta Dal and CPM while two contested, and won, the last elections as independent candidates. All of them were earlier termed corrupt politicians by the AAP leaders.

BJP’s path-breaking initiative, Delhi Metro faces apathy of Congress govt.: Goel

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today expressed deep concern over the mishandling of Delhi Metro operation with an increasing number of snags, cracking of pillars and growing safety concerns. The commuters often feel harassed with metro trains halting quite often recently. It seems another major initiative taken by the BJP-led NDA government when it started Delhi Metro will lose its purpose if remedial steps are not taken immediately.

Addressing a press conference today Shri Goel said, "The Delhi government has a 50% stake in the DMRC. However there seems to be no action on part of the Delhi government to take corrective measures. The BJP demands a white paper on the present status of the metro with an action plan explaining the road map to resolve issues which may ground metro in the long run."

"The BJP also demands to know what action has been taken to stop frequent halts of metro trains. Whose accountability has been fixed for cracks in pillars and frequent technical faults," he asked.

It may be recalled that the physical construction work on the Delhi Metro started on October 1, 1998 during NDA regime and  thee first line of the Delhi Metro was inaugurated by Atal Behari Vajpayee, the then Prime Minister of India on December 24, 2002.

The DMRC was in fact set up in 1995 at the initiative of the then BJP government in Delhi. Today metro has become the lifeline of Delhi but with the expansion in its operation, the quality of metro services is a grave cause of concern.

Shri Goel said that cracks and faults in Delhi Metro pillars and other structures have been frequently reported.

The DMRC had earlier also rejected previous reports on major faults and cracks on the high-speed Airport Metro Express line in July 2012 and the sagging of Noida City Centre platform.

The cracks on pillars at Noida City Centre were not considered as serious initially. It was only on September 28, following media reports, that the DMRC admitted that there was deflection in one of the cantilever arms of the station that led to the sagging of its platforms.

The trouble-ridden high-speed airport service had to be stopped for six months from July 8, 2012 after the DMRC itself detected major faults on the line. It had initially categorized the problems as "minor", according to an inquiry committee formed by Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), holding DMRC responsible in its recent report.

Several cracks have appeared on some pillars of the Delhi Metro’s busiest line that carries 800,000 commuters a day between Dwarka and Noida, with experts calling for immediate repairs to avert a disaster.

Adding to the woes the DMRC is facing notice from a consortium of lenders with the Private promoter, Reliance Infrastructure moving out of Delhi Airport Metro Express Link project.

The lenders’ consortium, headed by Axis Bank, has sent recovery notices to both Reliance Infrastructure (promoter of the original concessionaire) and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (which is now operating the Airport Metro link).

Shri Goel said that an audit conducted by the Delhi government's transport department, found that the security at the stations needs to be strengthened further.

Commuters enter the Metro stations with their luggage and can easily ply to the ticket counters without their baggage getting checked. The luggage is scanned only before the commuter goes towards the automatic fare collection gates. Threats loom large over the access points to the Metro stations and the unpaid area of the stations as there are no provisions to secure these areas.

Some recent incidents

October 25, 2013: Hundreds of commuters, including women and elderly, were stuck in a Dwarka-bound Metro train at the Yamuna Bank station for almost an hour following a major technical snag. The evening rush hour and a packed train added to their woes; women and children panicked and some elderly people fell sick because the air-conditioning had stopped working.

October 18, 2013: Thousands of commuters had a harrowing time as the DMRC shut the Noida City Centre metro station for eight hours for repair work. This was the second round of repair work being carried out on the pillar; the first was undertaken from October 12 to October 14.

September, 2013: the Noida City Centre metro station had to be shut down twice due to faults identified in its structure.

On 11 June, 2013:  An eight-compartment train carrying 1,791 passengers was stranded in mid section between Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhavan Metro station, as the emergency brake could not be released after being applied. Thousands of travellers, including women and children had a harrowing time after being stuck inside the train for over an hour.

Zamrudpur Accident: In 2009, eight people died during the construction of the Badarpur line.

Cracks and faults in Delhi Metro pillars and other structures have been frequently reported.

Faced with loan exposure to the Delhi Airport Metro Express Link project turning into a non-performing asset, a consortium of lenders has initiated steps for recovery of the dues.

Fight against polio started by Dr. Harsh Vardhan does India proud

Fight against polio started by Dr. Harsh Vardhan does India proud, Bill Gates lauds India’s “Pulse Polio Program”- calls it “the most impressive global success he has ever seen”
Dr. Harsh Vardhan writes to Bill Gates, thanks him for appreciation

New Delhi, 11 November:  Bharatiya Janata Party’s Chief Ministerial candidate for Delhi and former health minister of Delhi, Dr. Harsh Vardhan today wrote to Microsoft founder Bill Gates thanking him for the high words of appreciation for the Pulse Polio Programme of India. The pulse program was originally conceived and initiated in Delhi by Dr. Harsh Vardhan during his tenure as Health Minister in BJP’s regime from 1993 to 1998.

The Pulse Polio Program is the brainchild of Dr. Harsh Vardhan who has many international accolades and is recognized as a global icon due to his path breaking achievements in the field of public health.  In an article recently, Microsoft Founder Bill Gates had lavishly praised the Pulse Polio Program of India saying “India's success offers a script for winning some of the world's most difficult battles in every area of human welfare.”

In his letter to Bill Gates Dr. Harsh Vardhan said “As you know my country had more than 60 per cent of the world’s polio afflicted children. When we started our fight against polio, we were told repeatedly that we were aiming for the impossible, and, as you have also mentioned in your article, that ‘polio would be eliminated in every country before it was eliminated in India’.”

Dr. Harsh Vardhan further said  that India’s success in immunizing around 170 million children on a single day on special national immunization days, and to sustain this for years is a testament to the will and commitment of our people. “We are proud that India has not reported a single case of polio in the last three years,” he added.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan has also appreciated Bill and Melinda Gates foundation for their support to this crucial program. “As WHO prepares to declare India polio-free in the next few months, I want to place on record my appreciation for the immense support extended by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for our efforts,” said Dr. Harsh Vardhan in his letter.
