BJP Councillors stage march demanding removal of Sheila Dikshit
New Delhi, 12th August. 162 BJP Municipal Councillors took out march from Civic Centre demanding removal of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, filing case against her by the CBI and arresting her. The march was led by BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta and Leader of the House Shri Subhash Arya.
Addressing the Councillors before the start of march, Shri Vijender Gupta told that even after being held guilty by the CAG for bungling in Commonwealth Games, the Chief Minister is not resigning from her post. The Prime Minister, Home Minister and the entire Government and Congress Party are mum on her resignation. BJP is not going to remain silent. Until the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit does not resign BJP will continue its movement.
On this occasion Pradesh Co-Incharge Shri Navjot Singh Sidhu told that following the exposure by the CAG about corruption in CWG and degrading the prestige of India in the world, the Chief Minister should have resigned herself on moral grounds. Contrary to it Smt. Sheila Dikshit and the Congress Government are questioning the role of CAG itself.
National General Secretary Shri Vijay Goel told that Delhi Government is clearly committing contempt of the Constitutional institution like CAG and the Prime Minister is silent. It clearly indicates that the PMO is also involved in the Games bungling. This will be exposed if and impartial enquiry is conducted. On this occasion Leader of the House Shri Subhash Arya told that Congress Government is committing corruption for the last 12 years, but the Congress Party is silent. When the CAG has exposed the corruption by Sheila Dikshit then the Chief Minister has no morale constitutional or legal rights to continue in office even for a minute.
Chairman of the Standing Committee Shri Yogender Chandoliya said that it is surprising that firstly the Shunglu Committee found the Chief Minister guilty of corruption in the Games and now the CAG has confirmed corruption of thousands of crores, yet the Chief Minister continues on her post.
The BJP Councillors had tied black stripes on their mouths and also put on black clothes in protest. 162 Councillors of BJP besides Co-Incharge Navjot Singh Sidhu, National General Secretary Shri Vijay Goel, National Secretary Smt. Arti Mehra, Chairman of the Standing Committee Shri Yogender Chandoliya, Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Committee Smt. Sarita Chaudhary, Deputy Mayor Shri Anil Sharma, Shri Rajesh Gehlot participated in the march.
