GOVT. SHOULD ORDER CBI INQUIRY AGAINST SHEILA DIKSHIT

Dharna-demonstration at Legislative Assembly by BJP Delhi Pradesh to protest against hike in power tariff: demand for the dimissal of Chief Minister

New Delhi 29th August. Under the leadership of Pradesh President Sh. Vijender Gupta thousands of Delhi Pradesh BJP workers staged strong Dharna-Demonstration at Delhi Legislative Assembly to protest against the decision of Delhi Govt. to hike power tariff by 22% in Delhi and demanded the Congress Govt. that it should immediately withdraw the increased power tariff to provide relief to the people of Delhi who are already suffering due to back breaking price spiral and the accounts of the three power distribution companies be audited by the CAG of India. BJP has announced that the movement of BJP against Delhi Govt. will continue inside and out side the Assembly till the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is dismissed and CBI inquiry is not started against her.

Navjot Singh Sidhu, Lagislators Sahib Singh Chauhan, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Ramesh Bidhuri, Dharm Dev Solanki, O.P. Babbar, Ravinder Bansal, Mohan Singh Bist, Dr. S.C.L. Secy. Sh. Vijay Sharma, Genl. Secy. Ashish Sood, Secy. Simmi Jain, Treasurer Anil Goel and  Distt. Presidents, Mandal Presidents, Pradesh Officer Bearers, Senior workers participated in the Dharna-Demonstration today. It continued for three hours. The Demonstrators were demanding dismissal of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit who is hand-in-glove with the private power companies.

Addressing the Dharna Predesh President Sh. Vijender Gupta told that the former Chairman of DERC have found after examination of the ARR of the private power companies that they had earned profit of Rs. 6000/- crore during the last year. On this basis he did not allow the power tariff to be increased. Delhi Govt. is also providing subsidy of crores of rupees every year to the power companies. In this situation there is no justification of increasing power tariff. The new Chairman of the DERC has put a burden of increased power tariff of 22% on the people of Delhi at the behest of the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and private power companies. This has made the life of the people of Delhi difficult. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit knows that the people shall defeat her party in the forthcoming elections because of her corruption hence she has increased the power tariff to take revenge from the people. Due to the power tariff hike the prices of all the commodities including Metro Rail fare shall increase. It will make the life of the poor people living in Delhi difficult. Migration out of Delhi will increase which will ultimately affect trade and industries besides the life of the people.

Leader of the opposition in Delhi Legislative Assembly Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra told that power was privatize on the first July 2002 in Delhi. That time the Chief Minister had told that there are many benefits of privatization. The people did not get any benefit but the companies benefited from it. National Genl. Secy. Sh. Vijay Goel told that the Chief Minister of Delhi has done wrong to the people of Delhi. The people ask her that what happened to the promises made to the people of Delhi by the Chief Minister at the time of privatization. Was the power privatized in Delhi by the Congress Govt. only to loot the people? Pradesh Co-Incharge Sh. Javjot Singh Sidhu told that after the reports of Shunglu Committee and CAG it has become clear that the Chief Minister of Delhi committed bungling of crores in CWG. This should be inquired by the CBI. Only inquiry would not be sufficient, the Chief Minister should be arrested before inquiry so that she may not destroy the proofs and influence the witness.
