BJP will open a medical college under MCD this year, not impose any new tax

With the promise for all-round development of Delhi BJP releases its manifesto for MCD elections 

Releasing election manifesto for MCD elections separately in four languages, BJP Pradesh Incharge & former National President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu told that the BJP has done many good works for the service of the people of Delhi through MCD. He has appealed to the people that they should again make the BJP victorious in the forthcoming elections so that the promise for all-round development of Delhi included in the manifesto may be fulfilled. Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta presided over the programme for releasing the manifesto. 

Shri Naidu told that the Congress ruled Delhi Government put many hindrances in the public welfare oriented works of the BJP ruled MCD. Financial assistance for many projects were not given. Yet the BJP provided the facility of e-governance without imposing any new tax or increasing the existing tax. Lakhs of people of Delhi are benefiting due this. The Congress Government took away DJB, Slum department, Yaumna Action plan etc. from the MCD and ruined these departments by allowing corruption in them. Now the Government wants to completely destroy the MCD which will not be allowed by the BJP in any condition. 

Delhi Government misleads the people on the occasion of elections and starts series of false promises and announcements. In order to mislead the voters on the occasion of Assembly elections in 2008, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit got provisional certificates of regularisation of the unauthorised colonies having population of 50 lakh people distributed through Mrs. Sonia Gandhi with the promise to provide all the basic amenities. Shri Naidu asked when these provisional certificates shall become original certificates? Sheila Dikshit & Sonia Gandhi should answer this question to the residents of unauthorised colonies because five years have elapsed since the promises were made. 

At the time of issuing the manifesto, Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta became emotional and told that he has made Delhi as his work place and hence he is emotionally connected with Delhi. This is not the manifesto of BJP, but the Party has presented its vision before the people. This document is a living example of the feelings and emotions of the BJP and the people of Delhi. BJP has come forward with this manifesto to fulfil its promise within the next five years. The Municipal Corporation of any city is the most important organ of the citizens. Corporations work as civil government. Every citizen has to to something with it. BJP has served the people of Delhi by providing transparent, accountable, corruption-free and efficient administration during the last five years. 

He told that the Civic Centre of Delhi is a unique example of modern architecture and beauty Which has been dedicated by BJP to the people of Delhi. When request was made for fund from the Government under plan head for Civic Centre then the Government refused. BJP did not lose hope and saved fund from property tax, advertisement tax, toll tax and constructed 28 storied Civic Centre. During the Congress rule in MCD, plan was made to sell the Civic Centre to a private builder at the cost of 396 crore rupees. Just after taking over the MCD in 2007, BJP found that efforts have been made to commit a bungling in this case and it closed the file connected with the sale of Civic Centre. The unique Civic Centre which is adding pride to India in the entire world today is a sample of architectural beauty which has been constructed under green building plan. In the Civic Centre which was planned for being sold by the Congress for 396 crore rupees only, today BJP has reserved 6 lakh square feet space out of 12 lakh square feet space for the MCD works and has earned profit of 1300 crore rupees by selling 6 lakh square feet of space to Income Tax Department for 1806 crore rupees which will be invested in public service. 

Shri Gupta told that during the next five years Delhi will be developed with the help of beneficial & development oriented projects. Today garbage is piled over 700 acres of land in Delhi today, BJP will clear this pile of garbage and clear 700 acres of land for the development works. BJP has raised the slogan of waste to wealth – waste to energy which will become truth. MCD has also planned to manufacture tiles and organic manure from the garbage and earn money. Delhi will be made sanitation free land. In the year 2012 itself, BJP will open a new medical college under MCD and pave the way for producing thousands of Doctors. The lanes & roads shall be constructed with ready-mix concrete. A complete drainage master plan will be framed for making the drainage system of Delhi pollution free and implemented in Delhi. He has openly challenged the CM of Delhi to desist from making false allegations against BJP and MCD and should come forward for an open debate by accepting direct challenge. Party is fully ready for it. He announced that BJP will not impose any tax on the people of Delhi during the next five years and make the Corporation paperless place. 

Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra told that the Congress Government has made the life of the people difficult due to price spiral and corruption. The Congress Government has looted 45 thousand crore rupees from the people by imposing service tax. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has been reprimanded by the Lokayukta of Delhi for corruption many times. CVC, CAG, CBI and Shunglu Committee have exposed her corruption. The Chairperson of Election Manifesto Committee and former Mayor Arti Mehra told that the BJP Manifesto is a document of real promises. She raised a slogan ‘Aao Chale Aur Behtar Delhi Ki Aur’. Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Mange Ram Garg, Vani Tripathi, Rameshwar Chaurasia, Mewa Ram Arya, P.K. Chandla, Srikanth Sharma, Sanjay Kaul and other senior leaders were present on this occasion.
