BJP will lodge protest on the statement of J.P. Aggarwal to the State Election Commission – Vijender Gupta
New Delhi, 3rd April. Criticising the recent objectionable language used by the Congress Pradesh President Shri J.P. Aggarwal in a public meeting in the MCD election campaign to spoil communal peace of Delhi on 2nd April at Jama Masjid which is also reported in the national newspaper, Shri Gupta termed public speech of Pradesh Congress as anti people and can play vital role for destroying communal harmony. The BJP has decided to lodge official protest with the State Election Commission on this issue.
In fear of certain defeat of Congress Party in Delhi, Pradesh President J.P. Aggarwal has given such controversial statement in a public meeting while campaigning for their candidate of Congress Party. In his statement he categorically appealed to the members of muslim community and further said that muslims to act cautiously and should vote collectively only in favour of Congress Party for the progress of muslim community. He further said if muslim brothers will vote in favour of other parties then the vote bank of their community will be distributed which is danger sign the progress of muslim.
The statement of Shri J.P. Aggarwal is highly condemnable and also open violation of model code of conduct. The guidelines of the Election Commission are clear and says that while campaigning for the candidates of election candidates political leaders can not ask public to vote on the basis of caste, creed, religion, communal harmony, section.
BJP condemns the statement of Congress leaders for dividing the vote bank on the religion lines. It is highly unfortunate that Congress President of State and also Member of Parliament has given such controvertial statement to devide the society on the religion lines for sack of vote bank. It is hard truth that Congress has completely failed for the upliftment of muslim community in the entire country after independence. In the coming elections 1.30 crore voters will have golden opportunity in the MCD elections to give befitting reply to the anti people policies of Congress Government.
