DELHI GOVERNMENT IS MISUSING GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, MACHINERY AND POSITION IN ELECTION CAMPAIGN - BJP
New Delhi, 9th April. In a letter written to the Election Commissioner of Delhi and Police Commissioner of Delhi, BJP has informed that even after the implementation of Model Code of Conduct, Delhi Congress Government is misusing Government officials, machinery and position on large scale in favour of Congress Party for ensuring the victory of candidates of the Congress Party for the post of Councillors. BJP has demanded lodging case by the Delhi Police against open violation of Model Code of Conduct, corruption, misconduct and misuse of official position by the Delhi Government and also demanded the Election Commission to take stern action against Congress Party and forfeit the election symbol of Congress Party the ‘hand’.
Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta, Chairman of the Election Management Committee Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra and Convenor of Legal & Election Committee Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi gave this information to the Press persons today. They told that the Congress Party is using the Government’s sites on entire BRT Corridor, Akshardham, Bhairon Marg and Ashok Vihar for the election campaign of Congress Party. Congress is the ruling party in Delhi at present. The Legislator of the party Shri Bijender Singh is misusing the officials of Delhi State Co-operative Bank for ensuring the victory of Congress candidate from Ward No. 44 (Kamruddin Nagar) Mr. Jai Bhagwan Kaushik because the aforesaid Legislator is the Officer of the Bank.
In one of such incident, People apprehended an employee of the Co-operative Bank indulging in election campaign for the Congress and handed over him to Nihal Vihar PS. The DCP of West Delhi Shri Rangnathan was also informed about this incident. The son of Legislator Bijender Singh, Shri Mandeep Singh and the supporters of the candidate Jai Bhagwan Kaushik have threatened to kill Raghuvinder Singh Shokeen who is taking legal action against the employee of the Bank. The BJP leaders have demanded the Police Commissioner of Delhi B.K. Gupta that he should take legal action against the candidate Jai Bhagwan Kaushik, the employee of the Co-operative Bank, Legislator Bijender Singh his son Mandeep Singh and other accused person immediately.
