Sonia Gandhi should ask Sheila Dikshit to resign on the charges of misleading the Lokayukta – Vijender Gupta

Terming the plea of the Lokayukta to the President of India to review the decision in the case of Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Sheila Dikshit for making misleading and false statement promising 60,000 houses to the poor under Rajiv Ratan Aawas Yojna for the poor just before the Assembly elections in 2008, as serious the BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded the Congress President Sonia Gandhi to ask Mrs. Sheila Dikshit to resign on moral grounds for misusing her position.

Pradesh President told that the Lokayukta of Delhi has expressed strong reaction to the misleading and false reply of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and said that the Chief Minister has not adhered to the high standard of integrity and good conduct. Previously she issued false statements. When the matter was raised before Lokayukta the Chief Minister deliberately forwarded incorrect translation of her speech to the Lokayukta and the President. It shows that the Chief Minister did not want to apprise the President about the truth in this matter.

Now the legal translation done by the official translator of High Court has been produced. The Lokayukta has found Smt. Sheila Dikshit to be violating the Lokayukta law and on this ground he has recommended action against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. Shri Gupta said that this is a very serious case. During the last 13 years the Chief Minister has issued misleading and insulting statements to the people of Delhi. BJP will take this issue to the Parliament and the people and demand Chief Minister’s resignation.

Shri Gupta told that the Chief Minister dared to forward incorrect translation of her written statement to the Lokayukta for misleading him. She should be prosecuted for fraud. The Chief Minister also misled the President in this case. She had forwarded her translated written statement to the President shows that the complainant is related to a political party and hence he is trying to tarnish her image. She had replied to the Lokayukta that the Chief Minister had stated that 60,000 houses are being constructed and not that houses have been constructed.

Lokayukta Justice Manmohan Sareen had enquired about the statement issued by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in which she had tried to attract the attention of the poor people. He got the statement of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit translated by official translator of Delhi High Court. The translator has clearly written that the Chief Minister had stated that houses have been constructed. On this basis the Lokayukta has raised question on this immoral act of the Chief Minister and said that the complainant has made the complaint under Delhi Lokayukta Act. Smt. Sheila Dikshit has been found guilty of violating the Lokayukta Act. Hence he has again recommended action against her to the President of India.
