Addressing the meeting, Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel said, “The Delhi BJP is in favour of full statehood as this would end multiplicity of agencies. Unfortunately, the Congress government has done nothing to get full statehood for Delhi.”

The key issues in the assembly polls will be power, water, lack of development in villages, unauthorised colonies, JJ clusters and slums. The Congress is already on defensive as its poor performance is indefensible.”

He further added, “We are making efforts to mobilise party cadres 11,000 polling booths all over the city. We have appointed assembly seat coordinators on all seats and prabharis for all 14 districts. The party is fully geared up now for polls.

Simultaneously we are also holding mass contact programmes on issues related to the public. The response both within the party as well as outside has been very encouraging and it indicates that people in Delhi are looking for change.”

Shri Goel said, “BJP is presenting an alternative model of development where all sections of the society will be benefitted. It is going to keep a special focus on youth, women and marginalised sections of the society.”

Shri Ram Lal said, “All over the country, the BJP is un upbeat mood. The people are tired of Congress rule and BJP has emerged as a viable alternative.”

“The BJP is known for its committed party cadres and we are sure that the BJP cadres in Delhi are ready to remove Congress government and get the party back to power,” said Shri Anant Kumar

During the state executive meeting, there was an interactive session also where its members came up with several suggestions about future strategy of the party to contest assembly polls. A number of them suggested that the party must take up an extensive campaign to highlight its achievements in the MCDs and failures of Delhi government.

Some of the members suggested that the party is getting support from all sections of the society and there was a need to devise mechanism to incorporate aspirations of these sections who want to be closely associated to the BJP.

Some members also raised the issues faced by the industry owners due to lack of development in industrial areas.

Several members said that the people of Delhi are desperately looking for change and with the selection of good candidates and proper mobilisation of party cadres at all levels, the BJP is all set to score a record victory.

Shri Goel assured that the BJP will take up all these issues in its poll campaign and will also offer time bound solutions which will be implemented when it comes to power in Delhi.

A short film was also screened at this meeting which gave glimpses of the various initiatives, protests and issues taken up by the Delhi BJP in recent past.
