All the three Mayors and all women Councillors shall sit on Dharna: Demand for the formation of judicial commission

BJP TO STAGE MASSIVE DHARNA AT JANTAR-MANTAR TOMORROW TO PROTEST AGAINST RAPE IN MOVING BUS : DEMAND FOR CAPITAL PUNISHMENT TO THE RAPISTS

New Delhi, 18th December. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that a Judicial Commission should be formed immediately to enquire into the reasons of almost failed law and order systems and for providing complete security for the citizens of Delhi. This commission should submit its report within 6 months. Government should immediately take action on the report and provide right of respectable life to the citizens of the capital.

Shri Gupta made these demands in a Press Conference today. BJP Delhi Pradesh Mahila Morcha and Yuva Morcha shall stage a big Dharna at Jantar Mantar tomorrow on the 19th December to protest against rape in moving bus, lack of security to the women of Delhi and failed law and order systems in Delhi. BJP leaders from all over Delhi shall participate in this Dharna. All the three women Mayors of Delhi Smt. Annapurna Mishra, Meera Aggarwal and Savita Gupta shall sit on Dharna. Shri Gupta said that hearing in the cases of rape should be held on day to day basis and the guilty person should be awarded capital punishment. In such cases the judicial process be completed within six months and the guilty persons be behind bars.

He further told that since Congress Government under the leadership of Sheila Dikshit came to power, the law and order and quality of life in Delhi has deteriorated. It seems that there is jungle raj in the capital. Here the criminals are so fearless that they are murdering even the policemen. Women are their soft targets. Hon’ble Supreme Court has also made strong observations in cases of rape, kidnapping etc. of women. There was no effect of these observations of the court on Smt. Sheila Dikshit who is a woman.

He told that yesterday when he visited Sadarjung Hospital to see the condition of young woman victim of gang rape, the family members present there told that in spite of such heinous crime in the capital, no representative of the Government came to enquire about the victim. The reaction of the police was as usual that they are looking into the matter. According to the Doctors of the Hospital, besides rape the victim was also physically assaulted in such brutal manner that bleeding has not stopped till today. Her condition is very serious. Shri Gupta has demanded Delhi Government to provide help of 10 lakh rupees to the family members of the victim, so that her proper mental and physical treatment may be completed.
