Prime Minister should order enquiry into the grid failure continuously for two days

Grid failure is the result of blackmail of States by Central Government in President’s elections – Vijender Gupta

Due to grid failure continuously for two days 50% of India remained in dark. BJP has termed it as the greatest infrastructure failure of Manmohan Government and has said that this failure has exposed the so called development of India in the world. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded the Prime Minister that he should immediately dismiss Energy Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and order high level technical and CBI enquiry in this case.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta told that the way in which Congress Government blackmailed the State Governments other than BJP and the way in which it entered into understanding with them to secure votes and announced special packages to the States, they have now understood that the Central Government is very weak and they can have their way. Due to this many State Governments are drawing more power from the grid and as a result the power grid is failing.

In the night of 29/30 July, 2012 the Northern Grid failed at 2.33 a.m. and there was blackout in 9 States. Power supply could be restored by the evening of next day. On the 31st July again 3 grids failed and 50% of India was in dark. Due to failures on these two days, the Government sustained loss of 3000 crore rupees. The industrialists and traders also sustained loss of thousands of crores.

About 700 trains were affected by the grid failure today. Trains were stranded and Metro Rail service was also stopped. All the 780 traffic signals of the capital stopped working. Due to this there was jam for 2 to 3 hours. Two million people travel by Metro per day. When these commuters reached stations they came to know that the Metro services have stopped. The private operators took the advantage and recovered 2 to 3 times higher fare from the passengers.

Serious patients in the hospitals could not be operated upon. Even drinking water was not supplied to them. There was scarcity of drinking water in entire Delhi. When Bhutan’s Tala plant supplied power to Delhi then the Metro services could be restored. 40% people could not reach their work place and those persons who reached their work place were late. The power plants of Delhi were also affected by this failure. The water treatment plants stopped working because there was no power supply.

Shri Gupta told that the Government has started mispropaganda about self-sufficiency in power in this Five Year Plan. The reality is that by the year 2017 the country will need 76000 m.w. powers in addition. For this purpose investment of 400 billion dollars will be needed. Due to bad economic condition and administrative failure the foreign investors have stopped investing in India. Now they are investing in Singapore & Malaysia. Hence it is very difficult to start power projects in India.

BJP Pradesh President addresses a big public meeting of RWAs in Rajouri Garden

AFTER STEEP HIKE IN POWER TARIFF NOW THE GOVERNMENT WANTS TO PRIVATISE WATER SUPPLY – VIJENDER GUPTA

Addressing a big public meeting of RWAs in Rajouri Garden today, BJP Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta told that the way in which the Government has put the burden of steep hike in power tariff on the people of Delhi indicates heavy corruption in this case. He has demanded CAG audit in this case.

It may be mentioned that BJP has launched a decisive battle against the anti people decisions of the Congress Government of Delhi. In continuation with it a big conference of representatives of about 7000 RWAs of the capital has been organised in Talkatora Stadium on the 4th August. The RWAs of Delhi are very much willing to participate in this conference. They are ready to fight with BJP against the decision of the Government to increase water/power tariff with BJP. Shri Gupta told that many RWAs of Delhi are in contact with BJP office and have indicated their resolution to dislodge the Congress Government.

Shri Gupta told that in democracy the Government elected by the people has no right to take anti people decisions. The Government which does so has no right to remain in power even for a day. The people of Delhi have made up their mind to dislodge the anti people and despotic Congress Government in the next Assembly election.

The burden of increased power tariff put by the Government and DERC has broken the back of the people. The increased power tariff has been implemented from 1st July, 2012 but the bills served to the people on 20th July have shocked the people of Delhi. These bills show about 90 percent hike in power tariff whereas only 20 days have passed since the tariff was increased. The consumers who received bills for about 2000 rupees are being sent bills of 5000 rupees. It is also surprising that when the consumers out of his house for about a month or two will also have to pay a minimum of about Rs. 1000 to the power companies.

BJP Pradesh President told that after privatisation of power now the Congress Government wants to privatise water supply in Delhi. Hence fast reading meters of water are being installed in the houses of the people. The employees of Jal Board are also threatening that if they will not replace their meter than their supply will be disconnected and will also have to pay heavy penalty. If water supply is privatised in Delhi then the people will not get drinking water because the intentions of Government on the supply of water is not good, it wants to increase the rate of supply by 20 to 30 times. Chief Minister has already announced that water supply will be privatised within next two years in Delhi. After privatisation, the people will get portable water only. In the public meeting today S.Shri Subhash Arya, Rajiv Babbar, Hartirath Singh, Sunil Babbar, Sandeep Arya, Pratap Sehgal, Subhash Suri, Manjeet Singh, P.K. Pathak were present.

Delhi Government responsible for the accidents of vehicles transporting school children

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that due to gross negligence & indifferent attitude of Delhi Government, lives of lakhs of school children of Delhi are always in danger. Yesterday an innocent child has to lose life due to the negligence of a cab driver. Every year such incidents occure and the Government does not take steps to prevent it. The schools are also not taking responsibility in these cases. The main reason is that the Government is shirking its responsibility.

In Delhi, lakhs of children of Government and private schools go to their schools endangering their lives every day. After sending the children to the schools parents remain worried for the whole day because they are apprehensive about the return of their children safely. Neither the Government nor the private schools have sufficient number of buses. The management of private schools are running the schools as a business. They admit more children in their schools every year for the greed of money violating the standards in this regard.

Neither the private schools nor the Government take the responsibility of transporting the children from schools to their houses. They do not have sufficient number of buses for this purpose. The parents have no option but to send their childrens by taxis, autos, cycle rickshaw, scooters, motor cycles etc. Transport system in Delhi is fully chaotic. Every year dozens of children are killed in accidents. In view of the pathetic condition of school children the Supreme Court had issued some guidelines for transporting the school children in buses, taxis etc. Parents have to say that these standards are not followed and the children suffered.

Shri Gupta has demanded that in cases of vehicles meeting accidents, the parents should be sufficiently compensated and responsibility for the accident be fixed so that the guilty persons may be punished and the persons involved may be afraid of legal law.

Inauguration of under-pass between Badli Industrial Area & Samaypur Badli

All the three Corporations committed to expeditious service of the people – Jagat Prakash Nadha

Inaugurating Railway under-pass between Badli Industrial Area and Samaypur Badli today, BJP National General Secretary Shri Jagat Prakash Nadha told the people present on this occasion that BJP’s three Municipal Corporations are committed to the service of the people of Delhi. The hope and trust with which the people have given the reigns of power to the BJP in three Municipal Cororations, the Party will certainly fulfill it. He told that the days of Congress are no more. Congress Government has become a burden for the people and they are ready to throw out this burden. Shri Vijay Prakash Pandey presided over the function.
On this occasion, Shri Gupta told that traffic jam in Delhi is the greatest problem, Delhi Government is not concerned at all about solving this problem. Due to this thousands of hours, thousands of litres of petrol, diesel, CNG are wasted. Many people become victim of mental diseases due to the harassment in jam. When this is the position of the capital of India then one can easily imagine the situation in other States of the country.

It may be mentioned that due to lack of under-pass at crossing No. 9 of the Delhi-Ambala Railway route there is jam every day on this point. As a result not only time is wasted but also fuel is wasted and the neighboring areas are polluted. The people of the area were demanding that a railway under-pass should be constructed here. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi spent about 25 crore rupees and constructed 5.5 meter wide under-pass. This connects Badli Industrial area with Samaypur Badli. The people of the area are very happy with the construction of this under-pass.

The Railway under-pass between Badli village and GT Road Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar has been opened to the public. It was inaugurated by Shri Vijender Gupta on the 14th July. Now the traffic coming from Badli village, GT Road & Rohini do not face traffic jam. The NDMC has given relief to the public from traffic jam by constructing four under-passes. These under-passes have cut the distance between two points.

The Chairman of the Standing Committee of NDMC Shri Yogender Chandoliya, Legislators Bhagwan Dass Aggarwal & Devender Yadav, Councillors V.P. Pandey, Rekha Gupta, Mamta Rathore, Neelam Budhiraja and many senior workers and local citizens were present in the inauguration ceremony of the under-pass. There are 31 points in the capital where traffic jam for hours at Railway crossings is a problem. Under-pass & over bridges had to be constructed on all the places. MCD has been assigned the work of 17 bridges out of 31.

PEOPLE SUFFERING DUE TO PRICE SPIRAL AND DRAUGHT GOVERNMENT NOT CONCERNED – VIJENDER GUPTA

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has accused that the Government is not concerned about steep price spiral and it is following one point programme of increasing the prices of every commodity although the common man may be forced to commit suicide.

He told that the people have not adjusted themselves with the hike in the price of CNG, Diesel, Power/Water and the Government increased the price of petrol by 70 paisa per litre. Now, the price of petrol in Delhi is Rs. 68.48 per litre. The Government is going to hike the price of Diesel in near future. By increasing court fee 10 times higher, it has made arrangements to earn 500 crore rupees for delivery of justice also. Getting justice for the poor will become impossible due to this 10 fold increase in the court fee.

Due to the apprehension of the deficit in the monsoon rains the profiteers, middlemen, hoarders and speculators have started increasing the price wheat, rice, gram, sugar, pulses, mustard oil etc. The wheat which was being sold at Rs. 1100 per quintal is now being sold at Rs.1350 per quintal. Food items have become costlier by 10 to 50 percent. The prices of vegetables have increased by 100 percent. Fruits are beyond the reach of common man. Sugar has become costlier by Rs.8 per kg and being sold at the rate of Rs.40 to 42 per kg. Price control department of the Government has vanished.

The Central Government had expressed its apprehensions about draught in the northern states due to the forecast of the Metrological Department about deficient monsoon. The Agriculture Minister of the country is more concerned about his position in the cabinet and he is not attending his office properly for the last 15 days. He is fighting for No.2 position in the cabinet. Perhaps he has submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister for pressurising the Government. In such circumstances, the condition of agricultural country like India can be imagined easily. There is great shortage of water in the rivers. Central Water Commission has warned that the agricultural lands may remain unirrigated due to scarcity of water. Even after that the Government has not started inspecting the draught hit areas.

There is possibility that prices may increase by 2 to 3 times in the coming days. Government is not taking any action. The prices of wheat, mustard, corn, gram, soybeans, arhar are likely to increase further due to failure of rains. Among the vegetables potatoes are being sold at the rate of Rs. 25 per kg, tomatoes Rs. 50 per kg, brinjal Rs. 40 per kg, bottle gourd Rs. 40 per kg, torai Rs. 50 per kg, beans Rs. 80 per kg, bitter gourd Rs. 40 per kg, cucumbers Rs. 40 per kg, spinach Rs. 40 per kg, onions Rs. 20 per kg, shimla mirch Rs. 80 per kg, carrots Rs. 80 per kg, green coriander Rs. 100 per kg, cabbage Rs. 50 per kg, cauliflower Rs. 50 per kg, arbi Rs. 40 per kg, ladyfingers Rs. 40 per kg, ginger Rs. 100 per kg, lemons Rs. 100 per kg, mangoes Rs. 50 to 100 per kg., bananas Rs. 50 per dozen, coconut Rs. 40 per pc. In future the prices of these vegetables/fruits may increase further.

All the parties should wait for the decision of High Court

DELHI GOVERNMENT AND DMRC RESPONSIBLE FOR VITIATING THE ATMOSPHERE OF DELHI ON THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL REMAINS AT SUBHASH PARK – VIJENDER GUPTA

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has appealed to all the people of Delhi that they should maintain peace till the decision of the High Court on the archaeological remains found during the excavation work for DMRC in Subhash Park because the cultural harmony in Delhi is famous in the entire world. Delhi is mini India. Till the ASI does not produce authentic report about the remains at the site, it is the responsibility of Home Ministry to maintain vigil, law and order and deal with the unruly elements sternly. He told that DMRC and Delhi Government are fully responsible for deterioration of law and order. Had these organisations arranged for sufficient police force immediately in view of the gravity and sensitiveness of the case and prevented violation of law then the atmosphere in Delhi may not have been vitiated.

He further told that had the Government discharged its responsibility in the very beginning then chaos like situation may not have arisen. It is unfortunate that Rs.7.50 lakh were looted by the criminal elements after breaking the glass of the car of a trader from Ajmer Dr. Abdul Sattar Khan Bharatiya. His ailing daughter-in-law and son were with him. They could save their life with great difficulty. On 20th July itself High Court had directed Delhi Police and the Government to cordon off the disputed site and take possession of it within two hours. Nobody should be allowed to go there and status quo should be maintained till the decision of the court.

Had the Government and the police implemented the decision of the High Court immediately no violence could have taken place. After the orders of the Government, the police took possession of the disputed site at Subhash Park at 11.30 PM on Saturday. The Gunda elements of the area were waiting for it. They spread rumour in the entire Jama Masjid area in a planned manner and stone pelting started within no time. Due to this many public transport buses were affected and people were injured in stone pelting. The people of the area remain indoors for their safety. There is atmosphere of terror in the entire area even at present.

BJP Pradesh President has appealed to all the communities, sections that they should remain patient in the sensitive case of Subhash Park and wait for the report of ASI. All the sections of Delhi should respect the orders of the court and wait for its decisions.

Urban Development Minister replies to the letter written to the CM by BJP Delhi Pradesh President

DR. ASHOK WALIA REPLIES VIJENDER GUPTA WHICH IS MISSLEADING FOR THE PEOPLE ON THE SUBJECTS RELATED TO THE CORPORATIONS

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that the letter written to him by the Urban Development and Revenue Minister Dr. Ashok Kumar Walia is misleading to the people on the subjects related to the Corporation and it indicates step motherly treatment with the newly constituted three Corporations. It may be mentioned that the Congress Government is not able to adjust to the reality that BJP has won all the three Corporations. Due to this the Government is fully trying to cripple the three Corporations economically and in man power also so that the Corporations may fail and the people may not get the amenities provided by the Corporations. For this purpose the Government is adopting many tactics and hatching conspiracy.

On 17th July, 2012, Shri Vijender Gupta had written a letter to the Chief Minister demanding fund from the plan head, sufficient financial assistance by Delhi Government, Officers, Staff, working space etc. for the three Corporations. The Urban Development Minister Dr. Ashok Kumar Walia has replied to this letter. This letter contains misleading facts and the funds for which the Corporations are entitled have been termed as assistance by Delhi Government which is ridiculous.

Shri Gupta told that all the three Corporations collect 78 percent amount spent by the Corporations on the public welfare oriented works from its own sources. The rest 22 percent fund comes under Section-107A of the MCD Act for which the Corporations have constitutional rights. It is surprising that for the fund which should have been given automatically to the Corporations under Section-107A, dozens of reminders have to be sent to the Delhi Government and only after that the fund was released in instalments and also after long time.

The letter also contains matter about the loan to the Corporations by the Government. This is also given at the interest of 10.5 percent and the Government has in advance plan to recover the interest and the principal amount. Recently the Government has released the first instalment of global share to the three corporations. The Government has deducted 50 crore rupees as interest and 119 crore rupees as the amount of loan of the principal amount and given only Rs. 28 crore to the three Corporations which is like drops in the Ocean. How it is possible to develop entire Delhi with the help of 28 crore rupees by the three Corporations?

Delhi Government has not provided a single rupee as assistance or grant to the three Corporations. It clearly indicates that the Government wants to cripple the Corporations. The Government is fully trying to make the Corporations a failure. Delhi Government is recovering 250 crore rupees as interest from the three Corporations in a year. Even for this Corporations sent many letters to the Government and only after that the fund was released. Had the intentions of Government been good then it could have released sufficient fund and staff to the Corporations so that the people of Delhi could be provided better amenities. The same is the condition of appointment of Officers to conduct the affairs of the three Corporations successfully. Due to the non availability of Officers, works are being affected. The fact about plan fund is manipulation of data because the fund given to the Corporations for urbanised villages, unauthorised colonies, unauthorised regularised colonies etc. is the Constitutional right of the Corporation.

BJP delegation meets office bearers of the Commission

THOUSANDS OF WOMEN FROM ALL OVER DELHI STAGED DEMONSTRATION BEFORE THE WOMEN COMMISSION AND DEMANDED ITS DESSOLUTION

Under the leadership of Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta and Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha President Shikha Roy, thousands of women under the banner of Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha staged demonstration for about 3 hours at the office of NCW to protest against atrocities against women in the country and attempt to cover up the Guwahati incident. The demonstrators raised loud slogans against the politicization of NCW by the Congress and demanded its dissolution. Agitated women from all over Delhi continued to raise thunderous slogans for hours-“Mahila Aayog ka Rajnitikaran, Band Karo, Band Karo. Mahila Aayog ko Bhang Karo, Bhang Karo etc.”Women Councillors of the BJP participated in the demonstration in large numbers.

During the demonstration a delegation of senior leaders met the Chairperson of NCW Mamta Sharma and other members. This delegation included S.Shri Vijender Gupta, Smriti Irani, Arti Mehra, MP Darshna, Anita Arya, Shikha Roy etc. BJP Delegation expressed grave disappointment and surprise over the fact that the Women Commission has sympathy for Alka Lamba even today who told the name of the victim girl student to the media and made her future dark. The Chairperson of Women Commission and its members could not give satisfactory answer to the questions of BJP delegation. It is in vain to expect justice from them.

Addressing the demonstrators Shri Vijender Gupta told that the crime against women has increased in the entire country during the tenure of present UPA Government. Women are not safe in the country including Delhi. Discrimination against them is also increasing. The Chairperson of NCW Mamta Sharma has stated in public programmes that girls and women should not eschew from the word “Sexy”. The question is that in which direction the commissions formed by the Congress Government are taking the country. The Chief Minister of Delhi has said that the number of Wine Shops in the capital are less hence there should be Wine Shops in every lane and Mohallas of Delhi.

Mahila Morcha National President Smt. Smriti Irani told that the way in which attempt was made to de robe a girl student and molest her publicly in Guwahati, one cannot find any comparison anywhere in the world. It is surprising that the conduct of NCW towards this crime was insensitive and attempt to cover up. A Congress worker was deliberately including in the team who made the name of the victim student public deliberately in Delhi. What can be more irresponsible behaviour than this? It is in vain to expect anything from this Commission.

National Secretary Aarti Mehra told that there is great acrimony among the women of the country because of the Guwahati incident. Even in Delhi the women are not safe. This is the Manmohan Singh rule. Mahila Morcha Pradesh President Shikha Roy told that it is unfortunate that there is a woman Chief Minister in Delhi for the last 14 years but 23 percent crime of the country are committed only in Delhi. Delhi is known as the rape capital of the country. The capital of India has become the most unsafe and crime prone capital during the Sheila rule. Now it is the sacred duty of every Delhite to dislodge this Government. Mrs. Darshana, Anita Arya, Pawan Sharma and other leaders also addressed the demonstrators.

There is no need of BRT Corridors in Delhi - CRRI

IS THE CHIEF MINISTER CONCERNED ABOUT THE PEOPLE OF DELHI OR THE CONTRACTORS OF BRT CORRIDORS-VIJENDER GUPTA

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has raised a question to the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit that when the Central Road Research Institute has submitted its report to the High Court indicating that there is no need of Bus Rapid Transport System in Delhi, then why the Chief Minister is bent upon implementing BRT system in the capital which has become headache for the people. Is not the Chief Minister concerned about the life of 2.10 crore people of Delhi? Are the Contractors of BRT Corridor more important to the Chief Minister than the life of the people of the capital?

It may be mentioned that the Delhi High Court had directed CRRI to enquire whether BRT Corridor which is the cause of traffic jam and accidents is justified in Delhi and submit its reports to the Court. CRRI submitted its report to the High Court on 16th July. In this report the institute has clearly stated that there is no need of BRT system in Delhi. Public Transport can be run smoothly in Delhi without BRT Corridors. People have to wait 7 to 20 minutes at BRT crossings. Due to this 45 percent fuel is wasted and 26 percent time of the people is lost.

Reacting to this report, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has said that even if she may have to go the Supreme Court BRT Corridors shall be constructed in Delhi. Shri Vijender Gupta has asked the Chief Minister about the reason of her insistence on BRT. Has an important technical institution like CRRI and the Hon’ble High Court no value in her eyes? Shri Gupta further said that lakhs of people face harassment daily due to the partly completed BRT Corridor from Ambedkar Nagar to Delhi Gate and the Government has framed scheme for 15 new BRT Corridors despite stiff opposition from the people of Delhi. Its implementation will cost thousands of crores and the ultimately burden will borne by the people of Delhi. Who will be responsible for so much wastage?

Behaviour of the Commission irresponsible in molestation case of young girl in Guwahati

GOVERNMENT SHOULD DISSOLVE NATIONAL WOMAN COMMISSION IMMEDIATELY- VIJENDER GUPTA

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded that the way in which the National Woman Commission has behaved in irresponsible manner by politicizing the case of molestation of young girl in Guwahati, it is obvious that the present National Woman Commission has failed to discharge its responsibility. Hence the present National Woman Commission should be dissolved immediately and a responsible and transparent Woman commission should be formed.

He said that a criminal case should be filed against Alka Lamba for the crime of making public the name of victim minor girl of Assam to the Press and gets her punished for that. He has also raised a question that when Alka Lamba is not related to National Woman Commission then how she was included as member of enquiry team. Whether she included in the enquiry team as member of the Congress Party? Does National Woman Commission work at the instance of Congress Party?

Shri Gupta told that the victim of molestation by the unsocial elements in a public place was student of 11th Standard and she is 17 years old. Hence this case should be dealt under Juvenile Justice Act 2000. By failing to doing so the National Woman Commission has given this case a political colour and made Alka Lamba as the Member enquiry team. After returning from Guwahati she convened a press conference and repeated the name of the victim girl and made her future dark. National Woman Commission and Alka Lamba are responsible for it.

He further told that the Congress Party and Congress Government are bent upon misusing every constitutional institution. Congress Party and the Government are trying to politicize National Woman Commission on this basis. Until the Commissions and investigation agencies are not kept out the pressure and favour of the Government and Congress Party, nobody will be able to get justice.

Pradesh President writes letter to the CM

Chief Minister should provide sufficient financial assistance, officers & staff to the three Corporations for the development of Delhi – Vijender Gupta

In a letter written to the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded that she should take serious steps to provide sufficient financial assistance, officers, staff, jurisdiction etc. immediately to the newly constituted three Corporations so that these Corporations may discharge their responsibilities independently.

He has written to the Chief Minister that on the 17th July, 2012 three months have been completed since the constitution of three Municipal Corporations. Even after three months these Corporations are facing serious problems of finance, shortage of officers & staff, jurisdiction and resources. The object for which the three Corporations were created have not been achieved. The hopes of the people of Delhi are not being fulfilled even after the formation of these Corporations because the Govt. has provided only 20% of the amount of loan of Rs. 1231 crores to the NDMC and EDMC which is insufficient.

There are only 9 officers in the three Corporations who are supervising the work of many departments. There is heavy work load on them and they are responsible for planning and implementation of law. Hence they are unable to discharge their responsibilities and due to which the people are suffering. There is also shortage of equipments and machinery in the three Corporations because they are facing financial problems. There is also shortage of 150 junior engineers in the Corporations as a result of which the development work is being affected. There is also shortage of drivers and clerks. The fund of the Councilors has been reduced to 25 lakh rupees due to which all the councilors are complaining because they are not able to complete the development work in their areas due to scarcity of fund.

After the trifurcation of the MCD, the newly created corporations are feeling additional economic burden which should be shared by Delhi Govt. immediately otherwise the development work to be completed by the corporations will remain incomplete. The MCD has been divided but sufficient technical and other staff, officers and fund are required to create atmosphere worth working. Shri Gupta has asked Mrs. Sheila Dikshit that since she is the Chief Minister of Delhi hence her responsibility is the greatest and hence she should accord highest priority to improve the financial condition of the corporations and removing other shortcomings and help the corporations to work independently. She should provide sufficient fund, work place, staff etc. to solve these problems so that the three corporations may serve the people of Delhi satisfactorily.

PEOPLE SUFFERING DUE TO MISMANAGEMENT OF DTC

After increase in the price of CNG, Petrol, Diesel, Service Tax, Stamp Duty etc. now the Delhi Government wants to punish the DTC commuters as a result of mismanagement of DTC. It has planned increase in the fares of DTC Buses. The fare of Buses going to Faridabad has been increased by Rs. 8 for the AC Buses and Rs. 3 for the Non AC Buses with effect from 22nd June surreptitiously.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that the main reason of loss in DTC is its mismanagement. Many public transport experts and surveys have found that the reason of loss in DTC is that one third of the Buses do not go on the roads because they are defective. In the year 2001-02 the total loss of DTC was Rs.232.04 crores. Now this loss has increased to Rs.3085.12 crores in the year 2011-12. The Government and DTC frame big schemes for making the management efficient but it is never implemented.

In order to cover this loss by the DTC, the Buses will have to be run like private Bus operators. Many reports have been submitted to this effect but they are biting dust. Due to defects in one third of the Buses they remain unfit for flying every day. This is the biggest reason for loss. The next reason is the purchase of sub standard spares for the repair of DTC Buses. Officials at all the levels are involved in it. Due to fitting of substandard spares other parts also become defective. Substandard tyre tubes are fitted and shown as new ones. Recently Ticket forgery scam has come to light. This is also one of the reasons of loss. DTC spends about Rs. 90 crore on pay and allowances but only 50 percent of the employees really work. If the DTC is run efficiently then this big fleet can earn profits. In place of improving the management, the Government considers increasing fares as the only option and preparations have been made for it.

It may be mentioned that the Government had make announcement that the operational routes of the DTC in Delhi have been divided into 34 clusters. Buses of different colours shall ply on these roads so that the commuters may recognize the route by seeing the colour of the Bus. It was claimed that 3000 Buses shall be brought in the first phase but only 1500 Buses have been brought. Even these Buses have not been approved in technical survey whereas these Buses have been purchased after paying 15 to 20 lakh rupees more than the market price. It is a matter of enquiry which is still pending. The case of purchasing Buses at exorbitant rates is pending in the Delhi High Court.

DTC and independent engineers have found in the inspection of new Buses that their wiring is substandard due to which about 1 dozen Buses have caught fire suddenly while plying in the past. One more problem is that these Buses cannot run over the flyovers till they reach speed of more than 70 kmph. According to an order of the Government the speed of DTC Buses is 40 kmph maximum. No DTC Bus can cross the flyover at this speed. Hence the speed regulators from these Buses have been removed surreptitiously. Due to this accident may take place at any time.

BJP demands intervention by Lt. Governor in the case

DUE TO CONSPIRACY OF DELHI GOVERNMENT, THE FUTURE OF THOUSAND OF STUDENTS SEEKING ADMISSION OF 11th STANDARD IS IN DARK

Due to latest anti education decision of Delhi Government, thousands of students and their parents are badly suffering because due to the orders of Government their future is in dark. BJP has announced that it will never allow this anti education conspiracy of the Government to succeed. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded the Lt. Governor that he should intervene in the case and should increase the numbers of seats in the Government schools on the side of Science, Commerce and Arts so that the admission of every student is assured.

Giving information about the case Shri Gupta told that till date the number of seat in the Government schools for the 11th Standard in the Science subject was 15000. Similarly for commerce 36000 students were admitted. This year the Government with the connivance of Government school, the number of seat with the Science has reduced to 5200 only and in Commerce it has been reduced to 20000 only. Not only this, the Students who could not be admitted to Commerce or Science Subject and wanted to be admitted in the Art Subject are being denied admission to this side and are being forced to take Transfer Certificate so that they may leave Government Schools and may be compelled to go to the private schools after paying heavy fees.

Shri Gupta told that the BJP will not tolerate this anti education conspiracy of the Government. The Government wants to encourage private school education by doing so and is not discharging its duty to provide education to the students. Due to this, thousands of students shall be deprived of education because their parents cannot pay the heavy fees of the Private School. Their children will have to leave the school and remain and uneducated for the whole life. It will affect the social and education development of Delhi. The development of the capital will also be obstructed and or youth will be in the queue of unemployed.

BJP has demanded to the Lt. Governor that he should immediately intervene in the matter and direct the Government to increase the seats in Commerce, Science and Art side. In comparison with the last year so that all the student seeking admission to 11th Standard may get admissions according to their choice so that they may be able to prosecute their studies.

VIJENDER GUPTA INAUGURATES RAILWAY UNDERPASS CONSTRUCTED BY THE NORTH DELHI CORPORATION AT BADLI

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta inaugurated Railway Underpass constructed by North Delhi Municipal Corporation of Delhi to solve the problem of traffic jam at Railway line in Delhi today. This will not only solve the problem of traffic jam but also reduce the distance between Badli Village to GT Road Transport City by half kilometre. Lakhs of people will be benefited with the construction of this Underpass. People of the area expressed their happiness over the completion of this Underpass in time.

Addressing the people present on the occasion Shri Gupta told that lakhs of people face the problem of traffic jam daily in Delhi. In a survey of entire Delhi, it has been found that there are 31 places in the capital where the people face jam of hours on Railway crossings. A resolution was passed to construct underpass or flyover on all these places. Out of this 17 places were given to the MCD. The Civil Line Zone Project Division of NDMC was assigned the work of constructing Railway Underpass at Sawan Park, Badli Village, Auchandi-Bawana Road and Roshanara Road. Most of these projects have been completed.

The Underpass at Sawan Park was completed in November, 2011 and now it has been opened to the public. Today the Railway underpass between Badli Village and GT Road Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar was opened to the public. Now the traffic coming from Badli Village, GT Road and Rohini will not have to face the problem of Jam. Rs.4.26 crores have been spent on the construction of this underpass. There is possibility of the Underpass at Auchandi Bawana Road to be dedicated to the people very soon.

The Underpass at Roshanara Road will be ready within 2 months and will be dedicated to the people. This way, the NDMC has solved the problem of traffic jam being faced by lakhs of people by constructing 4 Underpasses. The distance from one point to other has also been reduced by these Underpasses. All the three Corporations of Delhi are committed to provide basic amenities to the people of Delhi. E-Governance service of MCD has also helped transparency in the works of MCD.

On this occasion the Standing Committee Chairman of NDMC Sh. Yogendra Chandolia, Vice Chairman Vijay Pandey, Councillor Mamta Rathore, Congress Legislator Sh. Devendra Yadav and Senior Officers, area Councillors, BJP workers and citizens of the area were present. All of them welcomed the inauguration of the Underpass.

PRIME MINSITER SHOULD ORDER CBI ENQUIRY INTO THE CONSPIRACY TO STOP OPERATION OF AIRPORT METRO – VIJENDER GUPT

Demanding CBI enquiry into the conspiracy to stop operation on very important metro line – Delhi Airport Metro Line from 8th July with the connivance of some officers of the Delhi and Central Government and Reliance Company on the ground of some technical defect, BJP has said that the guilty persons should be identified and punished. It may be mentioned that the DMRC has in a serious letter to the Central Urban Development Ministry exposed the evil intentions of Reliance Company in a systematic manner. This way now this case has become very serious and should be a matter of prestige for the Government and hence orders for enquiry should be given immediately with the intervention of the Prime Minister.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta told that the Central Urban Development Ministry had given contract of 30 years for the operation of Metro Line between New Delhi Railway Station to Airport having speed of 130 kms/h 17 Months ago. Reliance Company incurred loss regularly on this Metro Line. The company wanted to get rid of this contract. Hence on the grounds of technical defect and showing apprehension of derailment of coaches due to high speed, it succeeded in stopping the operation on this route indefinitely.

The DMRC in its letter to the Urban Development Ministry has clearly stated that had the Reliance Company complained about the defect related to the bearings then this technical defect could have been removed and the operations continued. Since the intentions of Reliance Company was not good hence it allowed the defect. The Reliance Company is directly responsible for all these things.

The DMRC has in its examination found that the technical defect on which the Reliance Company has stopped the operation of Metro Rail is completely false. Metro Officers have to say that in technical examinations it has been found that there was small defect which could have been easily removed. Since the Reliance Company is not interested in the operation of Metro on this route hence it is taking the help of technical defect. If the Reliance Company violated contracts on its own then it would have to pay heavy penalty. The DMRC has written all these matters to the Central Urban Development Ministry.

Taking this letter to be very serious BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Gupta has said that the prestige of India has suffered a set back in the foreign countries due to the stoppage of the operation of Airport Metro. The Reliance Company and some corrupt officers of the Central Government are directly responsible for it. Hence he has demanded the Prime Minister that the CBI enquiry be held in this case and the guilty persons punished sternly. The letter written by the DMRC to the Central Ministry has made it clear that the Airport Metro Rail Project constructed at the cost of about 1000 crores will resume its operation only in the last week of August, 2012. Now this case will go to the court for resolution.

BJP will move Supreme Court against DERC and power tariff hike

BJP will move the Supreme Court against illegal decision of the DERC to implement hike in power tariff by 24+8% w.e.f. 1st July 2012 without issuing orders in this regard. A member of the Pradesh Working Committee of the Party Sh. Ravinder Yadav will file a Public Interest Litigation in the Supreme Court demanding rejection of the decision of DERC to increase power tariff and provide relief to the people of Delhi.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Sh. Vijender Gupta has said that the DERC increased power tariff by 24% w.e.f. 1st July 2012 in one sided and arbitrary manner favouring the proposal of the three private power company of Delhi. Besides this it allowed recovery of 8% fuel surcharge. This way the total power tariff has been increased by 70%. It is surprising that the increased power tariff has become effect from 1st July but the DERC has not issued orders in this regards. When the DERC which is the regulatory body, has not given orders in favour of power tariff hike then on what ground increased power tariff is being recovered from the people of Delhi. This is the question to be considered by the Hon’ble Supreme Court.

It is necessary to mention here that the former Chairman of DERC Sh. Vijender Singh had found after examination of the accounts of the companies that all the three power companies were earning heavy profit of about 522 crore rupees. Hence Sh. Singh had recommended decrease of 20% in the power tariff in Delhi. In the mean time he retired and Sh. P.D. Sudhakar was appointed as the Chairman of DERC. Just after assuming office he increased power tariff by 22% w.e.f. 26th August 2011.

Now on 26th June 2012 power tariff has been increased again. Entire Delhi is critising this anti people decision of the DERC. The objective of constituting DERC was to control the arbitrariness of the power companies and the Govt. and to take decision in the interest of the people. But what is happening is just contrary to it. The DERC seems to be working in favour of power companies. This way the objective of the DERC seems to have been defeated.

Addressing the minority members shri Gupta said that Congress has always cheated and neglected the Muslim community since independence. Now it is open to all that at the time of elections Congress party has always given false assurances the Muslim community for the sake of vote bank politics. Now this truth has come out that is why Muslim community member have lost their faith in Congress party. BJP is the only political party which can deliver best in favour of minorities.

Today prominent members joined BJP are Dr. Athar Turky, Dr. Mahfuz Aalam Qureshi, Imran, Chand, Wasim Warsi, Mohd. Saleem, Mohd. Yameen, Mohd. Umar, Muslim Ansari, Rubi Begum, Anisa Begum etc. On this occasion Atif Rashid, Mohd. Irfan, Billa where present.

High Court directed DERC to notified tariff order within a week

BJP Delhi Pradesh Executive Committee member Shri Ravinder Yadav has filed a petition in the High Court against DERC for non-issuance of a tariff order for 34% tariff hike in respect of electricity consumption w.e.f. 1st July, 2012, for judicial scrutiny. The petition further contends that the hike is against public interest and without justification and transparency. While hearing the petition for admission the High Court has issued notice to DERC returnable within one week.

During the last week of June, DERC Chairman Shri P.D. Sudhakar announced the price hike in a press conference and reiterated that consumers have to pay the high rate w.e.f. 1st July, 2012. But it is exclaimed that DERC did not issue any order to this effect with full justification so far which is mandatory under Central Electricity Act 2003.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta also asked Delhi Govt. & DERC as to how they put effect of 34% tariff hike from 1st July and on which basis? He also said that all the three companies viz NDPL, BYPL & BRPL are conspirators and are in collusion with DERC & Delhi Govt. and are squeezing blood of the people of Delhi in the name of supply of electricity. In fact they have betrayed with the people in Delhi and have created arbitrarily such situation in yesteryears which is nowhere in any Metro city in India.

Shri Gupta has further contended that when Audit Report of all the three companies for the year 2010-11 & 2011-12 have not been published/finalised, how Chief Minister of Delhi Mrs. Sheila Dikshit has announced that the companies running in loss? Not only this so far CAG also did not perform audit on their accounts. The former DERC Chairman Shri Virender Singh already disclosed last year that all the three companies have earned profit of Rs. 522 crores. This is a contradictory statement of both present and earlier DERC Chairman and truth must come to light with judicial intervention.

Addressing the workers at Karol Bagh and Hayat Hotel Shri Gupta has said that Congress ruled Government has given only price spiral to people of Delhi. This Government does not belong to the Common man. That is why the people are very much frustrated due to the anti people policies of Delhi Government and waiting to dislodge as soon as possible. Addressing the Party workers he said last time when the CNG prices were increased by the Government, the BJP workers came out and protested on the road and Government was forced to rollback prices by Rs. 1.77 and this time the hike is on the higher side by Rs. 2.90. The whole Delhi is suffering due to the wrong policies of Delhi Government of increasing CNG prices in very short intervals but CM Sheila Dikshit is not at all concerned with the sufferings of the people of Delhi.

He further said the Congress is ruling Delhi since 1998 and 14 years have passed under their rule. In these years people of Delhi have faced and demoralised due to price spiral, scandals, corruption, imposition of taxes and the Congress in Delhi was dedicated to anti people policies. It does not appear that a Delhi is ruled by a democratic Government. There is a doctorial rule in Delhi. More than 7 lakh peoples have migrated due to poverty from Delhi and lakh of poor peoples are living in hellish conditions in the capital. CNG was introduced as a fuel in Delhi after the directions of the Supreme Court of India for reducing the pollution of the capital which was touching danger mark at that time. He further said the Government should have reduce the prices of CNG so that the people can avail them cheapest fuel and our atmosphere and pollution level of Delhi could be saved. By increasing the prices of CNG Chief Minister of Delhi it shows that she wants to categories the rank of Delhi in the list of polluted cities of the world. DEMANDING ROLL BACK OF CNG PRICES BJP WILL STAGE AGGRESSIVE PROTEST ON 10th JULY ON 14 PROMINENT CNG STATION IN DELHI – VIJENDER GUPTA

BJP Delhi Pradesh will stage Dharna/Demonstration against CNG price hike by Rs. 2.90 to lodge strong protest on 10th July on 14 prominent CNG filling stations in Delhi. These places are CNG Station Jhandewalan (Karol Bagh Dist.), CNG Station Opposite Punjab Kesari Office (Keshavpuram Dist.), CNG Station Rajauri Garden Police Station (West Delhi Dist.), CNG Station Vikaspuri (Najafgarh Dist.), CNG Station Lado Sarai (Mehrauli Dist.), Welcome Metro Station (Naveen Shahdara Dist.), CNG Station Gopalpur Outer Ring Road (North-East Dist.), CNG Station Shastri Nagar (Chandni Chowk Dist.), CNG Station Samachar Appts. Mayur Vihar-I (Mayur Vihar Dist.) etc.

Giving this information Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that Delhi Government intentionally wants to spoil the environment of the capital. In Delhi now the prices of CNG has increased upto Rs. 38.35 per kg which is equivalent with the price of Diesel. The negative aspect of this decision is that due to less availability of CNG fuel and easy availability of Diesel on all the petrol pumps in Delhi, people will be inclined to purchase Diesel Vehicle which will again make the level of air pollution as past before the introduction of CNG fuel in Delhi.

He further said the present Government is ruling in the way of dictatorship and in anti people manner. It is also unfortunate that Delhi Government is planning to increase the fare of DTC Buses in Delhi. Moreover Delhi Metro has already declared that soon Metro fare will be increased in Delhi. He said in these circumstances if the Government will increase the fare of public transport then it is a matter of great worry for those persons who are earning only Rs. 200 to 300 per day, how they will feed their family in Delhi. By doing such decisions it appears that Delhi Government is adamant to through away poor people out of Delhi but BJP is also adamant that such anti poor people of Congress party will never be fulfilled in Delhi.

Huge labour force for which Delhi boasts and provide opportunity to feed them and their families will now be forced to flee from Delhi as a consequence of all round price rise which has already threatened their very existence in Delhi and our Delhi Chief Minister is least bothered about them.

Airport Metro Line in Delhi-an example of dangerous PPP commitment of Govt. of Delhi, DMRC involving reliance industries corruption – FIR to be registered against the culprits involved

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Sh. Vijender Gupta on the news of closer of Airport Metro from tomorrow (Sunday) onwards has expressed his deep anguish on behalf of BJP that Govt. of Delhi is playing havoc with the lives and properties of the people who travelled on the route during last 2 years. We are fortunate that never it is too late that DMRC could understand the risk they have taken with the passengers so far has travelled with great fanfare and trust. But that has been belied now with the disclosure of technical shortcomings that has forced DMRC to discontinue this service otherwise the lives and properties could be put in danger in any movement. The real disclosure is yet to come as to how much Govt. exchequer has been looted by Reliance Group out of this project in which they have compromise the safety and security by applying materials that is not up to mark from the point of construction and safety.

Sh. Gupta has demanded that a technical committee should be immediately formed to enquire in to the happenings and those responsible contractors, DMRC officials or the company involved in the work should be brought to book for such kind of criminal offence while they have committed with the people of India and abroad who already travelled by this train.

Sh. Gupta has explained as to how the Ministers of Delhi Govt. applauded them which constructing and inaugurating the Metro line when they declared that this Metro line is a world class and could go for a century without any maintenance and hindrance in service. The target of speed thus envisaged for 130 km per hour could not take of even up to 50 km per hour at any point of time.

Now it has transpired that out of total pillars of 122 numbers the wirings are bad and it could lead to any mishaps at any point of time. This was very much in the knowledge of Indian Urban Development Ministry yet they kept mum for the reasons best known to them. For the last two years the Metro pulled on how only god known. Needless to mention here that in another PPP project of electricity supply in Delhi the BRPL has shown a loss of Rs. 560 crores during the financial year 2007-08 and 2008-09 along with another company BYPL which has shown Rs. 55 crores loss but NDPL did all the years. It is open secret now that in the name of these companies whether MNC or Indian the people of Delhi are being looted in the name of development, as our honourable Chief Minister Mrs. Sheila Dikshit.

GOVERNMENT SHOULD IMMEDIATELY ROLL BACK CNG PRICES

BJP TO PROTEST ON 14 CNG STATIONS ON 10th JULY AND LAUNCH SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN AGAINST CNG PRICE HIKE

The recent CNG price hike shows the non seriousness of the present Delhi Government about the increased burden on the common man of Delhi. After recent hike in the price petrol, diesel, cooking gas, VAT, service tax, stamp duty, registration duty, grocery, fruits, vegetables etc now the Government did not hesitate increased CNG prices last night. It has severely affected to the 10 lakh owner of CNG vehicles in the present time of price spiral. Auto Rickshaw Association has already started demanding to increase the Auto fare and if the fare is increased this will directly impact on the pocket of common man in entire Delhi. BJP will protest on 14 CNG Stations on 10th July and launch Signature Campaign against CNG price hike in Delhi.

Addressing the press persons, Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta said that in the last 2 years CNG prices has been increased 7 times by the Government and now it 8th time another bigger hike of Rs. 2.90 per kg has been done by the Delhi Government. Now the CNG prices in Delhi will be at Rs. 38.35 per kg. On the directions of the Supreme Court of India, the uses of green fuel has been started in Delhi to reduce the highly air pollution in the capital. The recent Government report says the pollution in Delhi has declined and the quality of air is improved due to the uses of green fuel in Delhi. It is also important for the health of Asthma, Heart and Lung patients as well as for the common man residing in Delhi. Shri Gupta demanded from the Government of Delhi to immediate roll back increased CNG prices.

Shri Gupta said instead of increasing green fuel prices, the Government should have reduced the prices so that more and more people should opt this fuel option which is best for our nature as well as human beings living on this earth and policy should have been framed to promote green fuel vehicles in the metropolitan cities which are densely populated but the Government policy has totally failed to promote CNG vehicles. It is surprising that despite the bigger claims by the Government only 256 CNG filling stations to feed 10 lakh CNG vehicles which would have been 1000 in Delhi. The Government has not taken a single step to increase the numbers of CNG gas fuel facility on the present petrol pumps or installation of new CNG filling stations. Everyday CNG vehicle owners wait for hours to take CNG on the filling stations but the Government is not at all concerned with the wastage of time of common man due to the failure of their policies.

In fact the CNG is most economical and pollution free fuel available for the vehicles. On 1 kg of CNG, vehicle gives average of 15 km. At the cost Rs. 2.50 CNG vehicle covers nearly about 1km distance, petrol vehicle covers the same distance at the cost of about Rs. 7.00 and diesel covers at the cost of about Rs. 4.00 which is more expensive than green fuel. Due to cost consideration of the fuel, people prefer CNG vehicles more than the petrol and diesel vehicles.

TRADERS WILL GO ON INDEFINITE STRIKE IN DELHI AGAINST AMENDED VAT NOT WITHDRAWN IMMEDIATELY

Today before a Trader’s gathering at Town Hall of Chandni Chowk, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta addressed about 500 representatives of different Trade Associations all over Delhi and issue a warning to Delhi Government that if the amended VAT system is not withdrawn immediately, the traders will be compelled to call for an indefinite strike in Delhi in which about 5 lakh traders of different categories will participate. For this strike Delhi Government will be responsible.

Shri Gupta further told that BJP remains alloys the front fighter to keep the interest of the traders and the public at large in Delhi and whenever the Traders Association approached BJP, the party stood firmly with them to save their interest and fight against Government whether it is the matter of excise or VAT etc. Now a day Sheila Government is declaring different development programs for the people of Delhi in one side and on the other side every other day trying to squeeze money from their pocket in the name of development. The example for recently are tariff hike electricity, proposed DMRC project, secret price hike proposed for water distribution in the name EPB, increasing luxury tax by 12.36%, present amendment in VAT collection etc. The important point remains that the style of autocratic rule in Delhi is evident because Chief Minister of Delhi neither likes to take up any issue with opposition parties (BJP) nor she consults the Leader of Opposition, nor she is ready to discuss the matter in Assembly.

Today’s meeting was attending by namely S.Shri Kailash Gupta, Om Prakash Jain, Suresh Jindal, Prem Arora, Shyam Sunder Gupta, Om Kishan Gupta, Sanjeev Bajaj, Satwant Singh, Naresh Aggarwal etc.

Shri Kailash Gupta who is the Convenor of BJP Traders Cell also addressed the gathering and said that Delhi Government is not sensitive to the basic issues of the people of Delhi. If the traders go on for an indefinite strike on the issue of VAT amendment by Delhi Government, almost 2 crores people of Delhi will suffer and Sheila Dikshit Government will be responsible for it. It is the loss of revenue or the suffering of people. Mistake of VAT amendment is very much destructive because for the reason of smallest blunder a fine of Rs. 50, 000 will be imposed on the trader and in default of payment instead of 5% the penalty as now being increased to 40% which is very much on the higher side. 2% return on VAT deposit through bank is also very much unrealistic because the normal experience of the people about refund of Income Tax is also very cumbersome. The traders demand that this amendment, notification should be withdrawn immediately by Delhi Government.
