Send the conspirators of power tariff hike to jail

MASSIVE DEMONSTRATION OF BJYM AT POLICE HEADQUARTERS ON 19TH OCTOBER– VIJENDER GUPTA 

 Workers of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha will stage a massive demonstration at Delhi Police Headquarters on 19th October, 2012 demanding investigation into the conspiracy of the Government to block decrease in power tariff between the economic connivance with Delhi Government, Power Companies and DERC. BJP has demanded arrest of the guilty persons by economic offence branch of Delhi police on the complaint lodged with I.P. Estate PS by the BJP. 

This information was given by BJP Delhi Pradesh President Vijender Gupta to the press persons today. He told that the Government is angry due to case being filed against it by the BJP. Hence, clarification has been issued by Chief Secretary of the Government. Shri P.K. Tripathi has said that DERC had not issued orders to decrease power tariff in 2010. Then on what ground people are talking about decrease in power tariff. In response to the clarification of the Chief Secretary, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta told the press persons that by giving his clarification, the Chief Secretary of Delhi has himself admitted that the orders of the DERC to decrease power tariff was not implemented under a conspiracy. BJP has lodged a report on this ground. After the audit of the accounts and other statements of the companies the DERC found that the three companies had a surplus of 3577 crores rupees. Hence, he issued note on 28th, 29th, 30th April, 2010 to the effect that the power companies should decrease the power tariff by 23 percent. The order approved by the DERC on 3rd May, 2010 was to be published on 5th May, 2010. 

Panicked by this order of DERC, the power companies hatched a conspiracy with Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Officers of Delhi Government, two Members of the DERC and other people and forwarded a written direction to the DERC by the Chief Minister on 4th May, 2010 that is one day before the 5th May, 2010 that the tariff should not be announced and hence the orders to decrease power tariff by 23 percent could not be issued and the peoples continued to pay increased tariff. The Attorney General was asked by the DERC to give his opinion that has any Government, powers to issue orders to a quasi judicial institution like DERC. The A.G. opined that the state Government has no powers to issue orders or direction to the DERC. 

Tariff orders were to be issued w.e.f. from 5th May, 2010 but remained pending due the letter of Delhi Government on 4th May, 2010 and the power companies continued to loot the people. On 5th May, 2010, the Chief Minister, Government Officers, DERC Members, Discom Officers hatched a conspiracy and blocked new tariff orders. This was the conspiracy to block decrease in power tariff by the Chief Minister, Government Officers and Officers of the Power Companies and BJP demands these guilty persons to be sent to jail. Two members of the DERC Shri Shyam Wadera and R.S. Sethi acted against the interest of the people. 

Demanding investigation into this economic conspiracy and punishment to the guilty persons complainant Abhay Verma on behalf of BJP filed complaint dairy Case No. 7257 on 13th October, 2012. Delhi Police has assigned this investigation to the economic offence branch being. But the economic crime branch is trying to cover up the case under high level pressure. BJP will continue its movement till the guilty persons – CM Sheila Dikshit, Energy Secretary Rajendra Kumar, Jt. Secretary S.M. Ali, CEO Reliance Power Jairam Prasad Chalsani, NDPL, BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd., BSES Yamuna Power Ltd., two Members of DERC R.S. Sethi, Shyam Wadhera and other unknown persons are not sent to jail for the crime of loot of public money by hatching a conspiracy, BJP will continue its movement. 

Shri Gupta has expressed apprehensions that if the investigation is not held immediately, then the conspirators shall destroy vital documents and proof. Hence it is necessary that Crime Branch of Delhi Police should immediately arrest the conspirators so that they may not influence the witnesses and proof. It has been learnt that high profile leaders and officers who conspired in this economic offence have started influencing the investigation and covering up the case. If the guilty persons are not punished after impartial enquiry then BJP will not remain silent. It will ensure imprisonment to all the guilty persons.
