Bailout package of 500 crore rupees to power companies

Chief Minister is more concerned about profit of power companies than about the sufferings of the people - Vijender Gupta

New Delhi, 26th December. BJP has said that Delhi Government is not concerned about the sufferings of two crore people of Delhi, but more concerned about the profit to power companies. Hence Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit inspite of protest from the public representatives and the people has given bailout package of 500 crore rupees to the Reliance Companies, B.S.E.S. Rajdhani and B.S.E.S. Yamuna supplying power in Delhi whereas the power companies are earning profit from the people.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta was expressing his reaction to the big bailout package to the two companies out of three power companies supplying power in Delhi. He expressed his surprise that when the case of power companies is pending with the High Court DERC then why the Delhi Government gave bailout package to Reliance companies in an arbitrary manner? The decisiion of the Chief Minister to give bailout package is proof of the fact that she is in economic connivance with the companies.

Shri Gupta told that in course of hearing on the decision of the power companies to increase power tariff, the High Court had strongly commented that if the companies are incurring loss in supplying power to the people of Delhi then they should leave the field so that other competent companies may be given the work of power distribution in Delhi. He told that how it is possible that one of the Tata comany NDPL which is supplying power in Delhi, is earning profit on the present rates of power tariff, but the two Reliance companies are incurring loss even after 22% increase in power tariff. BJP has always been demanding that the accounts of power companies be audited by the CAG so that the reality is about manipulation of accounts may be exposed. In place of getting the accounts of the companies audited by the CAG and giving bailout package to the CAG in the times of price spiral, the Chief Minister is wasting money on the companies earning profit.

Shri Gupta told that the Delhi Government is taking anti people decisions one after another. Had she given exemption of five hundred crore rupees to the people then it could have provided relief to them, but she did not do so and gave bailout package to the power companies earning heavy profit of 6000 crore rupees and showed her bad intentions before the people.
