BJP will burn effigies of Government at 20 prominent places

Delhi BJP will fully support Bharat Bandh of the traders to protest against the decision of Government to allow FDI in Multi-Brand trade on the 1st December (Thursday) and make Delhi Bandh successful.  On this day the Party workers will burn effigy of Congress Government at 20 prominent places of the capital to protest against this anti people decision of Government.  Prerna Chowk in Keshavpura Distt., Town Hall in Chandni Chowk Distt., Mauzpur Chowk in Naveen Shahadra Distt., Khajuri Khas in North East Distt. and Indra Chowk in Mayur Vihar District, New Kondli & Bata Chowk Central Market, Lajpat Nagar, Madhuban Chowk (Vikas Marg) in Shahdara District, Ajmal Khan Road in Karol Bagh District, Raghubir Nagar Chowk in West Delhi District, Uttam Nagar Chowk in Najafgarh District, Madhuban Chowk in North-West District are among the prominent places.  Convenor of BJP Delhi Traders Cell Shri Kailash Gutpa was also present in the Press Conference.

Shri Gupta said the workers will persuade the traders of Delhi markets to close their establishments.  BJP will also make its movement more stronger against this decision of Government.  The traders of Chandni Chowk have called for an important meeting on this issue and have invited the Pradesh President in this meeting.  Blue print will be prepared after detailed discussion on the strategy of movement in this meeting.  Shri Gutpa has called upon the people of Delhi that they should save retail trade by supporting Delhi Bandh.

Giving this information Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta told the press persons that the UPA-II Government decided to allow the foreign multi national companies to expand their business in multi-brand retail under heavy foreign pressure and taken this decision without due consideration and in a haste.  All the political parties, traders, retail traders, industrialists, farmers of the country are worried due to it.  95% of total trade in India is of unorganised retail trade.  20 crore people of the country are directly connected with it.  The Congress Government should have consulted all the parties before taking such decision.  The opinion of the retail traders of the country should have also been taken on this subject.

Shri Gupta further told that wherever the multi-national companies have entered, they have besides finishing the traditional trade also grabbed the agriculture sector.  These companies take valuable productive land of the farmers on lease and control farming according to their choice.  The lease agreement also provide that if the crops are not upto standard then the companies will not pay the price of the products.

He told that the multinational companies adopt various methods to grab retail trade in any country.  The retail traders of India will lose their employment.  The example of China, Thailand, Malaysia, Male etc. countries is before the world.  When the Governments of these countries allowed the multi-national companies to start retail trade then the national retail trade completely collapsed and it resulted in massive unemployment.
